Thanks! I have an MRI scheduled for the 13th. Oncologist says the pain could be good or bad and only the scan will tell us.

Penny, praying for you. Love and XXX

Redwolf8812- Will be praying for you too. I go to my MO next week but trying to get a second opinion as pain in shoulder worsening. Not sure if you all can get Sacred Heart Radio but in my area of west coast its on AM1050. Every day at 1:30pm they say the rosary going thru all the mysteries. I say it along w/ them.
Feelingfeli- The radio priest and nun recording is in a lovely Irish accent.

My liver enzyme numbers from yesterday are sky-high. That, combined with the liver pain, has my oncologist concerned. She's not ruling out gallstones. I'm getting an ultrasound tomorrow at 12:15, and more bloodwork.
Please pray.
Thanks.
-
Penny I promise I am thinking of you constantly and praying every time I think. I know it's easy for me to say don't be afraid, I'm not the one dealing with stage 4, pain and the liver enzymes shock. I am saying it to you with apologies - I know I am in an easier place than you right now. I am just sharing something I read once that struck me as true: - fear rushes in when we forget to believe in good (God is good). Believe me knowing this is not something I have down to a fine art, I need it tattooed on somewhere. But when I do manage to remember it in a fearful time I find it seems to set my thoughts in a better direction, ie towards believing in God and goodness instead of my fear. I wish I could do more for you. XXX

Thank you, feelingfeline :-)
So today I will find out if this stupid cancer is causing me more problems or if it's something else. Please Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. In Your Mighty Name I pray. Amen.

St. Peregrine pray for redwolf! His feast day was either yesterday or today, depending on where you look. Anyway, seems he's the perfect saint of the day for you, redwolf! , ...and my personal favorite
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins my Mother;
to thee do we come; before thee do we stand, sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer us. Amen -
Bilirubin and almost everything to do with liver is really high. Dr wants me checked into hospital. This may be the end of the line for me but maybe not. She's taking into consideration the fact that I still feel well (thank You, Lord!) but the fact is that she needs more thorough imaging. Ultrasound didn't show any. She's actually hoping for blockage somewhere so they can fix it and get me back on the cancer-fighting road. But if no blockage I'll stay a couple of days to monitor levels. Please pray for my family and my soul. I thank The Lord for feeling well, that the personnel here at
Perelman and UPenn are so thorough and persistent, and for all the
advances in medical technology. Also for my great life, family,
friends, neighbors, and co-workers, along with all their prayers.
God is good ❤️ -
Praying that it is a benign blockage and for all the other intentions you mentioned. I pray that you rest well tonight. May the Blessed Mother wrap you in her mantle and sing you the lullabies that she sang to Our Lord.
-
Thanks. In hospital trying to rest. Tests tomorrow. Onc says if no blockage and levels continue to rise it's definitely cancer progression and I will have a few weeks. I've made an interesting observation. The body gets colorful - my eyes are yellow and my urine is pumpkin-orange LOL.

redwolf 8822 - ditto Corky60 prayer. I had not heard that one for a long time. One of my favorites.
I am sure they will find some answers at the hospital. More prayers coming over the weekend to you. I will need a few prayers next week myself as a rush MRI going to be scheduled of my shoulder area as my pain getting more severe. Dear Lord our Father watch over us in your flock thru these transitions. His hand is on our shoulders.
Rene
-
Penny- I hope you get some decent rest tonight. The Lord is staying w/you remember. Liver failure may cause very bad itching in some cases and fluid build up in the abdomen which they can drain off. I am praying none of these for you. I will be holding your hand from afar.
-
Dearest Penny, I hope you are getting good rest, and love, and care. I am sorry I was temporarily laid low with a tummy bug y'day so did not check my email but I have been praying. God Bless Penny Redwolf is the prayer constantly in my heart and mind.. Your BC sisters are praying for you here and you are in God's care always. There is no end of the road for you Penny. The only thing that's going to meet the end of the road someday is the cancer. You, a most beautiful child of God, have inherited the Kingdom. We all love you here. Please God Bless Penny Redwolf, in Jesus' name, Amen.
Rene I will be praying for you also. Love Susanna
-
Penny and GrammyR, I offered a Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Rosary for you today. God bless you.

MRI 10am today. Either a blocked Bile duct or liver failure. Thank You, Lord, for carrying me.

Apostolic Pardon at the Hour of Death gives a plenary indulgence with full remission of temporal sin. It is a beautiful mercy that Jesus offers us through His bride, the Church.
-
Thank You, Lord, for Hope. Liver numbers are a little lower than yesterday. ❤️
And yes, thank You, Lord, for a sense of humor. My skin and eyes are yellow. I'm a little flushed from steroids, and my urine is orange. One of my best friends said I could be a sunrise :-)
Penny
-
Penny, nice idea from your friend. I bet to your husband and your children you are every bit as beautiful as a sunrise, even in current orange condition. Better not drink any OJ, or carrot juice. I hope you are feeling a bit better, that the medical team caring for you have got the pain you had been dealing with under control. I am guessing you have had the MRI by now so God willing you will have some good news soon. XXX
-
redwolf, when I was young I ended up with a plugged bile duck from gallstones, I ended up with pancreatitis, infected liver, gall bladder, and more! The took my gall bladder, cleaned out my insides, and left me with a t tube to keep the bile duct open, and wound drains. It took me while to heal, but I did, and have been good ever since! I was really sick for a while, but... And this was 33 years ago!
-
The hospital has been pumping me with electrolytes, fluids, even a blood transfusion. The doctor just informed us that the MRI shows less cancer then 2 months ago and my liver is recovering - my bloodwork is better! So it appears that chemo is working but took a toll on my liver. Now we wait to see what the oncologist has up her sleeve. I truly believe that all your prayers worked - thank you all so much! Hopefully I'll be home by tomorrow. Praise God! Jesus is Our Savior!
:-) Penny
P.S. I wouldn't be me if I didn't continue to ask for prayers, in this case, guidance. Trust me to find a chemo that works but my liver doesn't like lol.
-
Penny- Thank you Jesus. Keep your trust and prayers in the Lord. He always guides us when we ask him to. Sometimes we get the good thing we asked for . Being out of the hospital is good too. Less change of picking up new infection. Hu

Hi Ladies,
I haven't been on these forums for quite some time and now I find myself back here. I don't have all the details yet, but looks like I have a recurrence. I am not overly religious, I am Catholic and I am spiritual, just don't go to church much. Today I am here because my girls received Communion today and I am feeling more religious than normal.
Just wanted to say hi and ask you all to say a prayer, not for me, but for my beautiful little girls who have just received this special sacrament. I pray that they grow up to be happy and healthy. And for my husband who has been more supportive of me than I ever thought possible.
Thanks ladies!
-
Prayers for your heart's desire, Basia. Congrats!
:-) Penny

Penny Redwolf what wonderful, magnificent, fantastic news. It is like being given a gift of your life back. Praise God. (I know I felt like I had been given my life back earlier this year when tests for suspected recurrence were negative.) I am overjoyed for you and your family. Please God your onco will be able to find the balance that hammers the cancer and doesn't hammer you. I will keep up the prayers.
Rene, praying for you also. Please God you will receive good news. Know that your BC sisters are here for you in good times and bad. There is a lot of love on this thread.
Basia I am so sorry to hear of your worry. Congratulations on your daughters' communion with Jesus. I am looking forward to that happy day also. My daughter is making her first communion on Sunday 18th (2 weeks from today!). I am so glad to hear your husband has been giving you the support you need. Husbands can really shine in a time of extreme need. God bless you and your family. Praying for you.

Looks like I'll be going home today anywhere from 3-5pm, complete with brand new sinus infection and antibiotic scrip. I keep forgetting people get sick in hospitals. Who cares. Thank You, Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior, the One Who Loves Me Most. All Glory and Honor to You, Forever and Ever!
:-) Penny
-
Ah yes the new perspective that cancer dx gives one. There's a large humorous thread on here called You Know Your A Cancer Patient when.." Completely appreciate your sentiment of Lord I have a sinus infection, thank you LordSafe home Penny and continued prayers for your health and your liver recovery. XXX
-
Penny, praise God you can go home! Still praying for you and for the anonymous blood donor...God knows who the person is.
-
Basia, welcome. Listen to the voice of the Spirit. The Sacraments are powerful mysteries. How wonderful to have first Holy Communion in your family!
