consider taking "before" pictures.  (On something that won't allow it to go viral!).  I was afraid I would be disappointed with this initial surgery (a lift on the good side and fat transfer to lumpectomy side), so I had dh take a couple of before pics.  And as I expected, my initial reaction was disappointment, so I just took a look at those before pics.  Even though it's not perfect, I am now on the same level, and the lumpectomy breast is rounded out.  I haven't had my post-op appt yet, but I know my ps already told my dh that it will need a second surgery, so he isn't done yet.  It has helped so much to see how far it's come already!

That's good advice. Just had fat grafting and I remembered to take "before" pics. I didn't want them in my photo album on my phone so I emailed them to myself. Thanks for reminding others. Hope your recovery goes smoothly.

Thank you for this tip. I am having BMX Diep in a little over a week.

Tarheelmichelle- I didn't even think of emailing them to myself! I didn't want them on my phone or my computer albums. Thanks so much, I guess my mind is full of surgery, boobs and belly thoughts!

SophiaMarie - that is really good advice. It's so easy to forget what we looked like before. I didn't think to take photos before, but I have my plastic surgeon's before and after photos. I also took my own photos to watch the healing process after my reconstructive work. I'm very pleased with my outcome and occasionally I look at those photos just to remind myself how fortunate I am.
