I'm really happy with For Pits Sake deodorant, available here: http://www.healingfinds.com. I got mine several months ago, and it's still going strong.
Lee, the phytoestrogens in lavender and tea tree oil are extremely weak, and much of the fear about them appears to have come from an almost silly observational link made in 2007 that was picked up by the media and blown way out of proportion. Here are a couple of good links about it.

Of course, we each have to do what's comfortable for us, and there's no need to use lavender or tea tree oil if it concerns you.

I use lavanila-the healthy deodorant -which you can get at sephora. It is expensive, but lasts a long time and does a very good job. I'm still on my first one which I purchased 7 months ago. Very nice scent.

I've been using the crystal stone deodorant since my Dx in 2004. Works great. I just run the crystal over shower-damp skin & done.
My understanding is that antiperspirants can increase the risk of lymphedema, don't know if it's the aluminum or the blocking of pores that's the problem. I think maybe it was a lymphedema PT who told me that.
My husband uses it now, too. He has always had a sensitivity to deodorants/antiperspirant combination (maybe the aluminum) -- got a painful underarm rash from it. And deodorants without antiperspirant were becoming very difficult to find. The crystal works great for him, too -- trust me, I would know if it didn't!

I found an article for natural deodorant, DIY Natural Deodorant with Coconut Oil:

According to the National Cancer Institute there is no causitive risk associated with aluminum & deodorant/antiperspirants:

Thank you ladies so much. Arm and hammer baking soda worked! Two and a half years I have put up with the smell, to embarrassed to ask the Dr and figured I was alone on this. Used Toms and it did nothing. Finally googled it last night at 1am out of frustration and read everyones posts. Wrote down all the products, since stores were closed I got out the arm and hammer and tried it. It was immediate in getting rid the smell in my left underarm. Wow. thank you all so much and thanks for keeping all the old posts up. I dusted it on with a makeup brush, a little messy, but hey first time odor free and has been that way all day!

if you want aluminium free, crystals might not be good.
I can recommend dr. organic - a whole series of products.
Breast cancer inducing or not - there is evidence aluminium is not good and affects brain and fertility.

I sweat much less since I quit using deodorant and I use essential oils for non smell or good smell !!! Toms if I'm heading out for a full day of soccer
-
I use bubble and bee pit putty cream - for a while after chemo my skin was way too sensitive for anything like secret and I haven't gone back to it because for whatever reason regular deodorant seems to make me sweat even more now! I'm chalking it up to menopauseish hormone changes.

I swear by lanvin 'the healthy deodorant' which I get at sephoras. I switched to it before rads and am very pleased with it. Beautiful scents with no aluminum or parabens and worked through summer heat. It is expensive but lasts about 9 months.

I'm very pleased with using Desert Essence brand deodorant It's non-GMO and also aluminum and propylene glycol free. Whether it's helpful for cancer or not, the absence of those ingredients has to be a good thing in general.

Manu14,
What are the ingredients on th desert essence deodorants?

The most effective deodorant that I have ever used is Ozone Layer Deodorant, which happens to be all natural too. It's just shea butter and beeswax infused with oxygen and it eliminates odor by oxidizing the bacteria that cause it in the first place. It lasts longer than 6 months with me and it is guaranteed to work! Check it out at http://OzoneDeodorant.com
