Restless leg and new treatment for reaccurence

hi, I'm going absolutely crazy!! I just started my herceptin, perjeta, and Taxotere cocktail this week. I have been having the worst (what I would call restless legs) they wake me up every night and I'm up for hours. I take pain killers, Ativan, Xanax. I spread them out over a period of time but geeezzzz!!!! I read that calcium pills can work... Would a muscle relaxer? I'm so stressed this time around. I'm scared and hate all these SE I'm having. I didn't do so bad the first chemo rounds I had a couple year ago. . Also where they put my port in hashorrible inflammed rash that is making me crazy. I'm afraid to take benedryl due to the restlessness it can cause. It super itchy and painful. Perjeta can cause a rash but I didn't expect it to be like this. Sorry about he rant I am just at my wits end with all the stuff I've had to overcome to even get to this point. Any tips, advice, cyber hugs... Anything. Also how much diahrrea is to much before you go to ER?

Hello Kite, I am so sorry you are having all these awful, irritating side effects.
I haven't taken any of the meds that you have, but I am a restless legs sufferer and the only thing that gives me relief is Magnesium. I was told about this by my Naturopath. It also helps with cramps and a list of other things. It may be worth researching, or ask your Doctor about it.
As far as I am aware, diarrhea that is constant and watery which is dehydrating you, would be a reason for a trip to the ER. I just had a thought though, I do believe that Magnesium can have a laxative effect, so may not be what you need right now.
Have you tried any Lomotil, or anti diarrhea meds?
I really hope you are feeling better soon and that others may have some other ideas about how you can get relief, hugs to you!

I'll be DARNED, Kite! Today was my first session with Herceptin, Perjeta and Taxotere, too! While I was there, I noticed an older gal in the chemo lounge complaining to the nurses that she was going NUTS with restless legs. Little did I know that 10 hours later, I myself would be experiencing the very same thing (started 5 min. ago).
Now, in my case, I doubt it's the Benedryl, bec. I've been using 50 mg of that EVERY SINGLE night for 21 years (for insomnia), and it never gave me r.l.s. at all. I'm thinking it's one of the other 3 that's the problem (or else the combination with the Bene). In any case, one gal online recommended Canada Dry (or getting an Rx for quinine sulphate---I think that's the name of it). I don't want to take anymore drugs than absolutely necessary, so I think I'll go buy some of the C.D. 2morrow (if I'm up to it: no idea what the ole carcuss [sic] will be up to---er, rather "down" to---tomorrow).
Hope you find relief, and all the best with your treatments.

I'm so bummed you have it too but relieved I'm not alone! I've been up since 130am! I tried some magnesium pills and they seemed to work for a few nights. I have yet to sleep through the night since treatment (6 days ago) I feel just awful from the SE this time.
I have to be up in 1.5 hours to get kids off to school and then maybe rest a little before my pet scan. This one will show go well the Radiation worked on the bone mets. Also if any tumors have come up.
I sure hope it isn't like this everytime! Keep me posted on your SE over the next few days. I haven't found a lot of posters who have this treatment and would love to have some people to bounce stuff off of! Good luck tonight!
