Hello
-
hey Alyson. You just going to fall now, right?
-
Wanted you all to know what is going on:
Pain Doctor told me Friday, that with all my med sensitivities, he is out of
ideas. He wants to send me in for another pain management evaluation
(Psychologist/Pain Management) with someone else, or keep me on the
pain med (Tylenol #4) that worked the best and I can "just deal"
with the pain, because its not going to go away. I either needed to
go see him for more pain meds or be referred to someone else. I told him, I wanted to get off the Tylenol #4s and would be tapering
off them. I've gone through this cycle 3 times now to no avail, so after thinking about this, I talked to the Counselor that
helped me during cancer treatment. She thought, I need to do a 180
degree turn and try something different. We both agreed that
Acupuncture would be worth a try. I just got an email back from my PCP and she agrees that it is worth a try. Pray that we don't Flare my Lymphedema through the process. When I talked to the Acupuncturist on the phone yesterday, she said she doesn't have to go in the quadrant where the LE is and we would know within 5 treatments whether she can help with the nerve pain in the breast. My appointment is this afternoon, if you all need an excuse for a pocket party. Just don't make me laugh while she is poking me..I also had an epiphany of sorts - my new way of looking at my situation:
Through all this, I know God is using me to reach out to others and be a good encouragement. So don't take what I said above as a complaint. God Will heal me in His timing, either on earth or when I get to heaven. I pray that I can be that encouragement to others.
-
Gma..........I completely believe in acupuncture..........I have pain all the time......I take nothing for it because I a tired of medicine and its SE's........and I don't want more.
I have an acupuncturist who is Chinese (I believe they are the best)........she is fantastic.......on the staff at Penn Medicine in Phila., and is a graduate of University of Shanghi, and believe me this woman is fabulous ..............I had 2 broken vertebrae in my back, and could barely move....it took no 'time for her to get me pain free in that area.................I had severe neck problems......she took care of that too.
Other people in my family have gone with excellent result......2 daughters, my SIL, and my SIL's sister who has fibramialgia.........
Some insurances cover it....mine did not, but she gave me a rate....$45.00 a treatment....which included.....the needles (which do not hurt when done right), electrode treatment to the needles which lasts about 20 minutes, and is a mild vibration to the area...... hot stone massage........regular massage........and cupping.........this goes on for 1 hour...........I will be shocked if this does not help...........By the way......there are some places where they are doing acupuncture for LE........not me, but I know they were doing a trial somewhere in Phila........so maybe that is on its way too...........who knows.
Good luck............
-
I saw the trial and some are sceptical about that. But the worst that could happen is it flares and I work on getting it in control again.. I'm coming off the codiene and even slowly, today is a rough day. I hope she can help.. She is a LAc, OMD and the ladies at church seem to love her. She is the only accredited acupuncturist in town, but she talked to me yesterday and got me in after work this afternoon.
-
Gma, In the bag for you this afternoon. I have seen acupuncture do wonders. I do hope this is the answer for you. Hugs.
-
oh GmaF I told u ducky had good results with it
I'm in ur pocket a little late but I'm prayin real hard that it works
And yes I do believe in miracles
OFF SUBJECT
TODAY IS DUCKYS BIRTHDAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PARTNER IN CRIME.
I wish this new birthday year brings only good thing
-
hey I think I got the wrong date
April 24 th
Well I just will have to do it over
-
FK............LMAO................I started the rumor that it was Tuesday.................haha
-
GMA....hope the acupuncture works....sometimes it does take several treatments to get results, so don't give up on one visit....In your pocket today.....let us know what's happening, please.
Years ago I went to a acupuncture school nearby and the owners treated me over several weeks.....loved it!
For me, Medicare does not cover it and since my other insurance is now my secondary insurance, only pays what medicare approves (when this, my secondary, was my primary insurance it was covered....go figure)......so I had to go see a orthopedic doctor, get xrays, have a MRI with another doctor and then have a procedure with orthopedic doctor which was an xray guided epidural cortisone injection in an out patient surgical center....
HUG!!!!
Di
-
FireKracker,
Did you get results of your US yet????.....I care
Hugs,
Di

Thanks a lot, like I'm not mixed up enuf!!!!
-
Good news...............I told you try the damn Gaviscon...........did you get it yet.............
-
Gaviscon is THE BEST STUFF!!!! Better than all the fancy rx's
And whenever you decide your birthday IS, have a happy one.
-

Gonna put it on my list for tomorrow
Thanks for reminding me
I had a long crazy day today AND I had my first fight in my bldg.

-
GMA......hope the acupuncture session went ok for you today.
-
OMG.....was ready to tell someone today to STFU!!!!!!
I restrained myself....
tomorrow is another day......
grant me the serenity ......
to accept the things (persons) I cannot change.....
-
FK.....remember I told you to get both........get the tablets which you take 2, followed by a glass of water.......then there is the liquid which is good too.........the tabs I think work a little better, cause the kind of form a barrier when they dissolve, but I am not happy with chewing them.......but that's me..........just get it girlie..............
Keep the liquid for home, and you can carry the tabs with you.......
-
The Acupucturist talked to me Monday and got me in by yesterday afternoon! She walked me through an evaluation and did a bit of Acupuncture. She talked me into to needles on the forearm and wrist on the LE side.. I was concerned but am trusting she knew what she was doing. (no probems with that this morning, so I'm good).
She said I reacted to the treatment like she would have wanted and to not fight the heaviness I was feeling. It was a state of "healing sleep" and go home and sleep - I did - First nap I've had in 10 years. For first experience with this, I am keeping an open mind. I kinda ache all over and certain points, that she had to remove because of "fire type pain", hurt this morning, but she told me that could happen. She wanted to clear out the small things yesterday before she touches on my breast pain issue. My neck is already feeling better. The Acupuncturist did say that she would probably know one way or another within 5 treatments, whether the pain will respond.
I also received an email from my PCP and she said this was a great Idea - acupuncture and massage might be what my body responds too. I am keeping positive thoughts of this and massage will be the key to my pain issue. I am slowly tapering off my pain meds.
I couldn't keep you ladies in the dark and worrying about me. We have enough ladies here I worry about, didn't want to add me to anyone's list. I only posted here, so if someone elsewhere is asking about me, you have my permission to tell them.

D- go to the bonefire and throu that STF moment in,u will feel a lot betta
Ducky- I'm goin this afternoon to buy both,,,thanks again
-
Gma......I swear this works.......think positive about it........it might take more then 1 or 2, but keep the faith.........it helped my back...........hope it works for your LE.
Keep us in the loop...........
-
GMA....baby steps...baby steps....
I am hopeful for YOU.....one step at a time.........I sure know I love accupuncture and it worked!
Another thing I really really love, when I had pain during reconstruction....was hyperbaric therapy......so relaxing....and fresh oxygen.....ahhhhhh.......it can heal the pains from head to toe.....nipple pain, with NO nipples was solved! I know I take little breaths when not thinking about breathing and I also stop breathing at night due to sleep apnea (I do not use a CPAP)
-
Hi Di, I thought you might be here! I wanted to say to you that I understood what you were saying on the other forum...even put a message in there to you. Kinda felt you had moved one. It's really crappy when you need to say something and it gets thrown back at you. I've had that happen on other forums as well. Anyway, I am sorry that happened and maybe I'll run into a mall and we can kick down some doors!
-
Thanks Lost! It was an ouch........
I was just thought someone was being way over "judge mental" to my reconstruction Whine and bras not fitting or being filled....while she her whining about her computer was okay.....this is BC.org.....not microsoft or staples.
Damn.....I am just vain and so be it.....yes I had a face lift....but so did other on that forum.
I am not the most beautiful, sexiest.....and member of the mile high club on STFU forum....right ladies?
