Well......after that long walk this morning I put on my jeans and work boots and got busy outside.  Anyone remember the old game 'pick up sticks'?  I played that for a while then got out my leaf blower to clean winter debris off the deck (we have a pretty big deck) and also decided to blow all that stuff away that accumulates in corners and under bushes and so on.  So, now I've got a lot of leaves blown away from the house and deck waiting for DH to suck them up with the big mower later today or tomorrow.  When I refreshed my Fitbit dashboard just now I discovered I earned my first 15,000 step badge today!!  I'm currently at 15,483 which fitbit says is 6.86 miles. Whoo hoo Smile!  (heels are a bit sore from overdoing it, though Scared).  I don't know why I just realized it today but after next Friday's procedure I won't be able to do much in the way of yard work during that 6 week upper body restriction period, doggone it, so I'm REALLY glad we had beautiful weather today.

Ruth - I'll bet your home cooking is way better than a restaurant any day.  Love the new saying - so true!

Inspired - I bought a pre-cooked honey glazed spiral cut ham yesterday.  It will be just my DH, DS, DS's fiancé and me for Easter dinner.  DDs boyfriend managed to get time to travel and spend the weekend with her out in Maryland, so I'm glad she won't be lonely.

    Great news Nats!

Lilac - I love reading your updates, especially when you share little details about the sights and sounds and other cultural stuff where you live.  I have this mental vision right now of a very bucolic English countryside postcard-worthy scene.

hi all and welcome LongIsland.   Great to have good news from so many!  Been power-walking 45 mins every night (one side of a 90-minute cassette LOL) then 20 mins of my fave yoga DVD with R. Yee.  Logged 12.4 miles since last post.

((Red)) ow ow ow your poor back!  Please don't apologize for being on injured reserve, just hang out with us until you heal.  Sorry to hear about little Gage.

LB, kudos for July PRP fundraiser and thanks for excellent descriptions of your lovely countryside.

I too am thankful for this group, and treasure your friendship and positivity.  All are welcome here!  ♥

Car's in the shop for a brake job and I'll get out for a nice long walk this afternoon, once The People's Court is done LOL.

Mary, three cheers for H. Pylori!

Too bad we don't all live in the same town, we could  throw all our food together and have a potluck (or have nihahi take us out for Chinese!). Happy

My report for yesterday is Spin class then jumped in the car and drove to another gym and did Body Jam class, I may have overdone it as my feet were barking like dogs and had to take off my dancing shoes and wear flip flops home and then when I came home I was so wiped out I didn't even open my ipad Bawling

LB the place for your PRP fundraiser sounds lovely.  Nats yahoo for H Pylori, yes indeed a much better diagnosis. Sweet congrats on your badge. Ruth is there an instructor for Insanity or is it a DVD? I had no plans for Easter but my neighbor came over this morning and invited me to her family's celebration, she had me at "Prime Rib"Happy

I have never liked jelly beans...

    Until Starburst started making them.

Attended a wonderful Good Friday service today with both kids then came home and did my C25K. I find it SO much easier to do it first thing in the morning. But I did it anyway.

Crazy weather here in CT.  I ran in shorts and a tank style sports bra on Monday.  I had to wear long spandex pants, wind break and light weight gloves for today's 3 mile run before work.

It is great to hear and read all of the goods news today!  Stay healthy and have a great weekend!!!

Not a big jellybean fan so I will leave you ladies to scrap for them. My weakness is those stupid Reese' s peanut butter eggs.....

Completed a 2 mile walk/run on the treadmill tonight and expect tomorrow to be joining the throngs at the grocery store....

    Happy Good Friday ladies.

odie16 - I just remembered that I didn't buy potatoes the other day when I tried to beet the crowd, ugh!  I would just do rice, but my father-in-law doesn't like it and we have the sinking feeling that this will be the last Easter that he is here with us, at least mentally.  His Parkinson's dementia is progressing almost daily.  But, he is the sweetest man I know so it will be worth fighting the crowd to make him happy.  He still loves to eat, especially any meal that isn't cooked at the nursing home

I can pass on jelly beans too, but I am a sucker for anything with peanut butter and chocolate.  Don't forget, peanut butter has protein and protein helps your muscles repair themselves after a good workout

Can I please speak up for the purple jelly beans. I used to like the red ones, but lately the purple ones taste better. Today I finally did our taxes. Sigh! We owe, we owe, it's off to work we go.

Ruth that was super! Thanks for sharing. I wish I had that kind of group nearby. A lot of my really good friends have moved over the years until we are fairly far flung. I do have ladies I golf with every Tuesday though. We laugh and share and golf. Lol.

Nihahi where in Alberta is Okotoks? I lived in Cold Lake and Edmonton and although I've heard of your town, for some reason I can't picture it.

Still, that's a very good rationalization for eating Reece's Peanut Butter cups. Teehee.

    Stillrunning,

LOVE the way you think!!!! LOL... Applaud your efforts to make dear FIL his potatoes. My mom had Alzheimer's so I can relate. Any meal is better than most nursing home meals.....

    Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter.

Black jelly beans for me, too-- and make them Jelly Belly's, please.

Well I was 3 pages behind. You all are doing great. Ruth, loved the slideshow of your walking buddies and the story of the woman with history of polio. NatsFan, big congrats on H pylori.  Kind of poor choice of words that they said "positive biopsy", those two words just shouldn't go together!

I had the H pylori tested via stool sample and it was negative.  I get my endoscopy in 2 months, which was the soonest available. I was glad to hear they use IV sedation for it, and no bowel prep required. Will be happy to get this resolved. I am chugging Tums all day long on top of the prilosec and it's still not under control.

My shoulder is still freezing, and very limited ROM at this point. I'm going to go on hooping.  I can focus on leg hooping and can still do shoulder hooping, just can't do all the arm moves. Just need to let go of the idea of looking awesome. So hooped for about 20 minutes today, and did some walking by parking way far from my destinations at doctor's office, lunch with friend, and pharmacy/bank/grocery.

Good - you all fight over the jelly beans cuz that leaves all the malted milk balls for me!

Badger - disco music really is good workout music, isn't it?  I have a bunch on my playlists too. Ruth - love the video but where was the picture of the big buffalo??  That was my favorite.

At the cabin this weekend. The birds are in full song and the phoebes have rebuilt their nest under the eaves. Spotted a goldfinch this morning who is just starting the color change from winter drab to summer gold. I guess winter is finally loosening its grip.

Garden & Sculpt on the agenda for the day whacking down and clearing last year's growth in the meadow to make room for the new. Minor league ball game on tap tonight. Warning - baseball discussion ahead. Ruth - we're just missing Denard. He played two minor league rehab games there the last two nights but is scheduled to rejoin the big club today. He suffered a concussion last week in a collision at second and given his concussion history they've been very careful with him.  They keep running those concussion tests on him and didn't let him do anything till he passed them all. So we're taking good care of him for you!

Wow if I don't keep up every day there are pages to read!  I went for my first personal training session at the gym on Wednesday.  My next is Monday and then I can go to the gym regularly after that.  Thursday and Friday I walked but kind of short walks as it got cold here again.  Looking forward to 70 tomorrow!

I probably skimmed a little through some news but Red, I wanted to add my hugs for the painful scenario your family is going through.  Of all the pains this life can bring, this is the most painful.  My heart goes out to you all.

I will probably be shopping today and if I can get to it, some gardening and walking too.  We'll see how the day goes.  Unfortunately spring and fall weather changes seem to bring me sinus headaches so I'm just hoping my medicine kicks in!

P.S. the chocolate is proven to be good for you so I'm not feeling guilty.  The cupcakes, not so sure.

I'm happy to share the black jelly beans!

Another pretty day here.  Garden & Sculpt on tap for this morning, and a power walk for this afternoon.

Going out to brunch tomorrow so no cooking/shopping/dishes - yay!
