Breast Shrinkage from Radiation

I am just finishing up my treatments (28 full and 5 boosts). I thought my breast was supposed to shrink, but if anything it seems slightly bigger.

How long before it will shrink? Or doesn't everyone respond to Rads that way??

    There was a thread here by Percy that addressed that issue.  I believe it was under Radiation Treatment.

    Andrea! did you have reconstruction? I did - with an implant & yes I was told Radiation could cause shrinkage - initially they weren't going to do the reduction of the right til after - but I preferred to get it all at once. My left "breast" does feel swollen for sure - most of pain is from there - the side of it close to my underarm & underneath - very uncomfortable - i sure hopes it goes away afterward.

    Notbuyingit... Looks like we started Rads the same week. I had 28 full and in the middle now of 5 boosts. I am having pain now in that exact spot . It is right by my Node scar and feels line something is torn inside. It's probably the worst feeling so far in Rads. I agree with you and hope we both have comfort too. Aside from that my breast is just very pink. I initially had nipple pain and hardening, but that has subsided.

    I would like my breast to shrink and then maybe I would reduce the other one too.
