This can be our motto!

Did my 12 mile training run yesterday. I felt strong until mile 9. I really struggled in the last two, but I kept telling myself that every step past 10 miles was furthest I have run since my DX and treatment. I was able to hover just below or just over my 11 minute mile pace for all 12 miles. I am ready for the half marathon on 4/27!
-
Patoo - LOL on the combo of colonoscopy prep and untreated allergies - you poor thing. Hope all goes well and you have years before your next one. Still - fabulous run - 11 minute miles for 12 miles is amazing. Nihahi - good luck on the nip recon. cdelv66 - hooray on getting that last drain out!
Lilac - thanks for the links to those online fitness sites. I'm going to share them in this week's newsletter to my Rec Century Challenge participants.
30 minutes yoga this morning.
-
Good morning - congrats to everyone who has already completed their exercise for today. For those of you still reading and lingering .... you still have time to jump in!
Still running - you definitely do sound like you are all set for the half marathon! What an accomplishment, and so soon after radiation!
Reporting in: Liquid awesome done! 4 mile mountain hike/run - 61 minutes going against the wind! My ears were hurting, could it have been due to the barometic pressure change? I'm back at home and all is right again! I decided not to let my OCD control me today, and I went first thing, even before the daily vacuuming!
Have a great day everyone - hear the voices, conquer the thoughts and get your exercise on!!
-
Wishing easy healing to all.
Today's exercise - an hour walk/hike with hubby and lots of preparations for Passover.
Happy Holidays to everyone for Easter and Passover.
-
Hi all. Done! Will get results of polyp biopsy in a few days but not worrying. I was down 1.5 lbs from colon prep and jello all day yesterday but probably won't last since feeding my face today. A little tired but will get out for a walk in a few since it's so nice out.
-
Oh Patoo - so happy to hear it's all behind you! No pun intended. ROFL

-
Ran - 2 minutes
Stair stepper - 20 minutes
elliptical - 25 minutes
Upper body weights - 30 minutes
Crunches - 10 minutes
Stretching - 15 minutes
Started taking aspirin as of yesterday.
-
patoo - I'm anal enough (no pun intended...lol) that I calculated the percentage of my weight loss from colonscopy prep. At that particular moment in time just before beginning the prep I was approximately 2.7% poop! Guess there's a reason my eyes are brown
. Glad it all went well for you.Warrior_Woman - you should do an Energizer battery commercial. I think you could outdo that lame-ass bunny any day!
-
Glad that is over with, patoo!
I will go down & do 15 minutes of some kind of toning before I go to Zumba, because when I come home, I am Dancing With the Stars
. -
Great job, everyone!!!
I heard your voices, but we had a power outage this morning. High winds, limbs falling.
I did not create liquid awesome because I had to work tonight...and no power = no shower!!!
-
Good evening everyone! Glad your procedure went well for you today, Patoo.
Just returned from a power walk/run at the park. I was slower today because the humidity is up.
-
Omg, I hurt. Stupid back. Last Monday I bent down to pick up my runners and my lower back went twang. But I still went to class on monday and Wednesday. This morning I hobbled in to work and my boss says, enough of this go to the sports medical clinic - here's the phone number call now.
So I did and doc says I separated my tailbone from my pelvis. All the muscley bits are inflamed and I am over stressing the ligaments to compensate.
So it was exercise class day. I went and told the instructor what was up. She devised a new program till this clears up.
Okay, 15 mins treadmill, 40 mins resistance and weights and 15 mins stretching. I know it's good for me but I do ache tonight.
Patoo, sorry you had to go thru that but happy that it's over.
Still, wow, I say it again. Wow!!! Good going
Warrior Woman, can I be you when I grow up? Please?
-
Thanks all, especially for the giggles.
Did get out and walked about 2 miles. Felt really good but need to increase my speed.
Night my sculpted friends.
-
Patoo, glad things came out ok .....lol
Nihahi, hope your nipple recon went well also.
Warrior Woman, you are awesome! Stillrunning, sounds like you are ready for your half. Great times.
Completed 30 minutes on the treadmill today after work. Scoot over Ruth so I can watch DWTS too!!!!
Happy Monday all.
-
Come on over, Odie. We can compare notes; love the Disney songs!
Ouch, Red!
I walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes after Zumba. I am doing loseit.com and had to earn back some more calories so I could eat dinner!
-
I think loseit.com is going to recall my badges!
-
I'M HUNGRY!
-
Didn't get a walk in today, but did get my last drain removed and made an appt for physical therapy. Did anyone do PT after their breast surgery?
-
CUTE picture! My surgery was long enough ago that PT wasn't even offered, but I think it is a very good idea!
-
This morning did Sh'bam and tonight drove with a friend to a gym where my young Vietnamese friend was part of a Body Combat launch team so did Body Combat. Tonight is my UK friends last night in the US so when I came home went out to eat ughhhhhh.
-
Nihahi, I hope your procedure went well.
Cdelv66, cute picture.
RedReading, ouch! Tailbone separating from the pelvis? What was it thinking!
Just a token bit of weights and hooping today. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the frozen shoulder. It's really a barrier for hooping. I look so gimpy and ridiculous with one arm that won't go above my head or behind my back. Can barely do my weights. Tempted to switch activities until it's better, which if last time was any indicator will be at least a year. The only things I can think of where it wouldn't be a barrier are running and lower body strength training. I'm open to suggestion.
-
Cdelv66, I did a once a week pt for a year starting a month after surgery and found it helped greatly, especially since for me a side effect was frozen left shoulder. Sarah my therapist was also very supportive as well during the mood swinging, vulnerable time (for me) of getting used to the life change. Nice to see your pretty smile. Ann, I too would switch to running or power walking for the sake of giving your shoulder a chance to recover. Patoo, good to read all went well, Nihahi wishing you a smooth, easy recovery. Mary/NatsFan, and Inspired, I thought those websites were amazing and go for it Mary - pass it on as we say elsewhere.
6:45am yoga and afterwards body balance at the busy gym this morning.
-
Ann, would PT be helpful for you also?
I got up in the middle of the night and watched 'The Blood Moon' (but only for a few minutes because it was 21 degrees). Very awesome!
I am off to Core and Pilates in a few minutes. Tonight I am going to the Jazz Band Concert at the high school. DS played the trombone in the Jazz Band all the way through school & they do such an awesome concert that I still put it on my calendar of 'must do' events!

We FINALLY had a sunny weekend, and I made sure I got out. Saturday was a Seattle day, so off to a funeral for one of the priests of my former church. He succumbed to prostate cancer, so of course I had to ask the question of "why was I spared"? Our former rector came down from Vancouver to give the sermon which was wonderful. I think she is enjoying her new role as bish.
Lots of running around Seattle, and a major power walk from resale shop to church. I wouldn't have made the service without the running. Then coffee with a friend and off to the wine bar. I bus it in, as cheaper and no parking problems. I think the 4 or so miles of power walking count as exercise.
Sunday was a 35 mile ride in the sunshine, and a 5k run yesterday evening post getting my estimated taxes out the door. I think I have figured out the formula going forward: make more money/take cost out of my living expenses. I think both will happen this year. Quite sure about the first, and I had a great Q1. Actually, I made more money last year than I had thought back in January, so ended up owing some taxes. I got my big commission check just in the nick of time.
I am doing the tulip ride on Saturday. That is always fun. And I will follow church on Easter with an exploration of the path that runs along the Lower Snoqualmie River. It's a dirt path, so need my hybrid. Discovered it coming back via a new route from my Sunday ride.
Took care of the planters on my deck, getting rid of the dead foliage and adding in geraniums. They look gorgeous now, which is not how I would have described them 24 hours ago.
Happy spring everyone! I need to get moving for work, and because I have a dinner tonight. Need to remove my bicycle from my car and put in my folding chairs! - Claire
-
Inspired - sounds like it was a tough workout. Way to hang in there!
Patoo - glad your procedure went smoothly

Red - Ouch! I don't think I would still be moving if I were you. I hope you heal quickly.
I ran an easy 2 miles yesterday. No watch, just went out to work out the kinks from Sunday's run. i am glad today is an off day because it is windy and rainy here. Have a great day!
-
Didn't get to see the eclipse as it was raining cats and dogs all night. I was sorry to miss it.
Pilates this morning. My monthly manual lymph drainage massage is this afternoon. I find that scheduling a monthly "maintenance" session to have a professional move accumulated lymphatic fluid out has been of great benefit to keeping my LE from flaring too badly, especially my truncal LE. Of course I have to self-pay because insurance will only pay for PT when the goal is to make progress towards a resolution of the issue - maintenance sessions for chronic conditions are not covered. Grrrrrr.
-
cdelv: I did not have PT after my BMX, but my PS gave me one exercise to do. You start by facing a wall, put your palms flat on the wall, and then start walking your fingers up the wall, and get as high and close to the wall as possible. Do that 3x a day for a few minutes. However, I think the reason I did not need PT, is because on 4th day after surgery I started vacuuming with a mini vacuum we had, and start cleaning, etc ... as the accumulation of 4 days of being on the couch was driving me crazy (my OCD and all). So I feel my flexibility came from remaining active in the housework and upkeep on a daily basis. I was not approved to lift more than 10 pounds though, so I couldn't pull out coffee table or things like that. I also slept on the couch sitting up for at least 2 months post-BMX and I think that really helped the swelling go down fast, and kept lymphatic fluids from building up, causing the additional feeling of weight and stiffness.
We set the alarm, ran to the window, saw that we were still about 45 minutes too early to see the full eclipse, and went back to bed. Next one is Oct 8th (I think).
-
80 minute walk with my husband along the beach front. The humidity is up and it was hot!
It was a bit much for me.
-
No exercising for me today. Sorry but my back is toast. I go back to the doc tomorrow and have my exercise class in the afternoon, so that will have to do for both days. Sorry again ladies.
