I know there is nothing more they can do until I get the results... plus it is the weekend. But it is hurting a bit right now and the rest of the breast has become slightly pink. I am feeling worried. I know I should stop feeling like this because it's not helping but it is so hard. My nipple has not like turned in a little bit as well today.

    cyber hugs

NASM, we are all hoping and praying that your biopsy will be a big fat B-9!

Waiting and dreading are tough.  But like Meadow said, if it's lousy news, you know you can make it over the big speed bump of treatment.

YAY!!!!!  "Chronic inflammation"...we'll take it!  Just stay with it, NASM.  Get checked again in a few weeks, and definitely, if things appear to be getting worse between now and then, GO BACK.

    We're thrilled for you!

That is the best news.  Be sure to follow up.  You were right to pursue this.  I would rather be wrong than dead.

    Hello,

Just a quick word to say that I had the same inflammation business on biopsies last year. lymphocyte infiltrate in the superficial derm.

Mine seems to be linked to fibrocystic breasts. Do follow up though and if it doesn't get any better, ask them to take several biopsy samples.

    Good luck

Ok how much worse would I need to call my doc, it is once again angry red, and very tender. The mass is growing larger. I have not felt any nodes under my arms, but my armpit area hurts very badly. There is also a new thickening of the skin pretty close to my biopsy site. I also have that sharp pains and itchiness... Should i just wait for my follow up, or does anyone think i should seek an opinion sooner?

and there is a new thickened bumpy area of skin just above the biopsy site. Pretty much how the first one started on March 15th. I also have a clearish nipple discharge on the other normal breast.

Did you call and tell the nurse?

First, I got everything crossed (fingers, toes, etc.) hoping its just an nasty infection - and boy, it's hard to type with my eyes crossed!

NASM, talk to your doc: some infections don't respond to all antibiotics and you may need a different treatment plan. And sometimes it takes a while for the meds to do their job. Still, please have it looked at and please let us know.

I'm thinking of you very strongly, and like every one else here waiting with baited breath for the next news ! I for one hope they put you in the hospital with iv antibiotics if indeed it is an infection, it sounds evil.

Ok, I set my appointments, the cancer center now wants to do the follow-up on the 30th, the OBGYN wants to try to drain it on Monday. It is a purple color with bruises all over. A little pressure on the breast, then there is an angry looking bruise for days

I have explained all of these to my docs, they all want me to wait for my follow ups

So I had my appointment today. They said it appears to be cystic acne along with the chronic inflammation. Next appt has been re-set for the 28th. The obgyn said the chronic acne could last for the rest of my life

    Dear Nasm,

I'm really, really, really glad it isn't IBC!

And while cystic acne with an ongoing inflammation sure sounds pretty nasty, I'm hoping there is an antibiotic and treatment plan that will work for you. You may have to be very active in pushing the docs to find the right treatment plan, but you've already shown your willingness to fight for proper care. So I know you will be able to get such care: you're strong-minded and have courage. IOW, you rock!

Personally, I'd like to know how you're doing -- if you'd feel more comfortable using PMs, that's fine.

    Relieved and pleased,

    bride
