American Idol Season 13 - The Voice Season 6

Well, ladies, I was sort of under the weather last night, so we DVR'd American Idol, but I didn't watch it. So no brilliant, witty, recap.
I also DVR'd tonight's show, but I'm on my way to bed, so I won't watch that, either. I just Googled the results of who went home.
Not surprised!!!!!
-
They showed Malaya being coached to take the excitement out of the begining of the song, keep it all in the end. The result was boring. I wonder how she would have sounded if they'd just let her go with her plan.
-
Dang, I was right! I was hoping by putting it out in the universe, I would be found wrong. Would much prefer CJ left. Maybe next week?
-
I'm rooting for CJ.
I don't think he will win, but I am rooting anyway.
I do think Jena is kind of impressive and grows every week.
-
Jake Parker such a handsomeness ♥
-
So I missed the hype about what's happening tonight on the Voice. Every team has 3 people. Are certain people getting to perform again tonight & the judges each get 1 more? I don't get it.
-
Joni...Team Usher will choose his 3 tonight
So my understanding is next Monday all 12 will perform and we vote
I heard something that they will have 1 save like AI
-
I thought Usher & Blake were last Monday? Or not?
-
-
This is for Joni
-
-
Thanks Sheila. Out of the 4 teams, I think Adam has the most chance, BUT---I really like Josh on Usher's team A LOT! As well as Shakira's girls. We shall see. + Blake has a chance with Susandra or however she spells it!

Recap – 4.16.14 - Down to the top 7! Tonight’s
theme: Pick songs for each other...CALEB
– “Family Tree” by Kings of Leon (Alex)First
few bars…. Blah! Ricky Minor is sure rockin’ out! Love it when he goes all
rocker instead of wearing his conservative suit. Caleb picks up steam….
WOOOO!!! Ends big! WOOOO!!!! Consistent Caleb rocker performance. WOOO!
Blahblahblahblah…. WOOO!!!JESSICA
- “Gunpowder and Lead” by Miranda
Lambert (Sam)“It’s
a badass song and she’s a badass….” Well, a badass whose leather bellbottoms
were too long and who was wearing Grandma’s white plastic earrings again…
Thought she sang well but the judges were underwhelmed. Harry tells her to go
home and dance to some FUNK so she can find some rhythm…ALEX/SAM
DUET – “Let Her Go” by PassengerHmmmm…
two nice guys sitting on a cheesy 70’s plaid couch, singing a nice song. Nice.CJ
– “Gravity” by John Mayer (Caleb)Still
singing sharp, but by now who cares. Loved the shot of his son in the audience
wearing headphones and waving to Daddy. Harry thought it was his best
performance to date.DEXTER
– “Muckalee Creek Water” by Lee Brown (CJ)Still
singing songs exactly the way they were done originally. Fortunately I don’t
listen to a lot of country music, so it sounded original to me!JENA/CALEB
DUET – “Gimme Shelter” by the Rolling StonesAw,
how could you miss with a Stones tune? Both had the necessary powerhouse
voices; Jena looked great with bangs, Caleb rocked it…WOOO! More judges’
comments…. WOOO!!! (Can you tell his WOOOOs are starting to get old with me?)ALEX
– “The A Team” by Ed Sheeran (Dexter)Nice
voice. Plays guitar. Marches up and down in place (not even in time to the
music), still looks like he has to pee. Harry says there is great beauty in
small performances. Well, this was sure small.SAM
– “Sail Away” by David Gray (Jessica)She
recommended this song to help him connect with the ladies. Did he? None of the
girls in the audience looked rapt… they just looked bored. Harry says he needs to sing a song that
everyone knows, and can sing along to. What? I never heard of the song Alex just
sang, and I DEFINITELY wasn’t singing along to THAT….JESSICA/CJ/DEXTER
TRIO – “Compass” by Lady AntebellumWell,
they sounded pretty good individually, but together? The judges hated it. Um,
HATE is such a strong word…. Maybe “Put
me to sleep…” might be kinder. Did really like Jessica’s voice, though.JENA
– “Creep” by Radiohead (Caleb)Sitting
at the piano… oh no! Looks like someone TPd the chandelier!!! Dang, this girl
can sing. Can’t believe how much she has improved since her audition, and how
confident she is at only 17. Just might
win this. -
Thank Blessings you made me LOL again and before my coffee
Now that's a rare occasion
i need to print your post and hang it where i can smile all day
Good job
♥
-
Yes, I would say Jena is a definite front-runner, in it to win it, etc.
Love your analysis Blessings, again.
I think the judges have pegged Jess to be the next one going home, as I believe she could have had the best performance of her life & they would have dissed it. Last night was the 1st time I liked CJ. Still have no feelings for Dexter or Sam. Would like final 3 to be Alex, Jena & Caleb with Jena in the winners seat!
-
Eph3 - totally agree with your last statement. Jena as winner - she's a powerhouse and brings a lot to each of her performances. So glad she got to sing that Radiohead song - great song.
-
I am sort of over Jess. I was rooting for her on a personal level, hardworking obscure talent gets shot, but she is just too stiff on stage all the time.
Still like CJ
Think Jena is going to win
Kind of over the others
I don't know how they ended up with such a weak group
-
Hi cookie.....My top 2 are safe.
My votes are for Jena.....she can sing and has a nice personality...
-
well, I'm surprised. I figured America would have picked up on the "subliminal" messages from the judges to send Jess home. It almost worked. Dexter just sounded like he was singing along to the radio from the get go, so I'm glad that the country fanaticism didn't continue to hijack votes.
I agree it's a relatively weak group compared to years past, but the Top 3 (Alex, Caleb & Jena) are pretty decent for each of their styles.
-
WOW..Tonight Caleb delivered it and some more
♥
-
Alex & Allison Iraheta singing "Say Something" = BEAUTIFUL!
-
I don't know who is going home !
I know Caleb and Jena are safe....
I have 2 in mind they should leave the competition tonight
Just Thinking out Loud.......
-
Yes joni...Say Something was beautifully sang ♥
-
Eph3, I think if I were buying an album, I would buy Alex's. He has a unique style and interesting voice. The others are more performers than singers.
-
I'm very pleased with the result.....
-
So I still have 2.5 hrs before the show comes on so I'm putting this out there. I think that Jessica will go home tonight. I think she & Sam will be the bottom 2. I hope Sam leaves next week, thereby leaving Jena, Caleb & Alex as the final 3. If I had my way, Alex would win, but I think that Jena is zeroing in on that. Caleb could sneak in, but he showed weakness last night; I like him, but I like Alex better. BUT Caleb's White Snake was AWESOME! Now I'm getting off of here so I don't accidentally see results.
-
Joni...I was so careful and didn't mention any name
Let me know tomorrow how you felt about the tonight's AI
-
I thought the "shocking" twist was stupid & I'm glad the contestants were smarter than whoever's idea that was. What would the point be of having them stay together another week only to lose 2? So I am fine with the result, surprised-I've been afraid the teen bop vote would keep that one around, but then I forgot that he was who the judges saved, so I think it's appropriate he left before Jess. But unless she has a complete turn around in stage presence, she'll be gone next week. That's my opinion.
-
No surprises here.... Agree that the "no one goes home tonight but two go home next week" thing was dumb, unless you were in the bottom 3 this week and managed to pull yourself out of it by next week....
I really wasn't even going to watch tonight, but DH tempted me with popcorn.
And even though I don't read this thread until the show is over in Cali, thank you gals for your considerable restraint in not giving away the "loser's" name....
xoxo
