hi.

I have had chronic arm pain for about 8 months. Achy, sore, tingly, etc.

Just recently I have noticed a large tender area on my right breast and a swollen/tender lymph node in my arm pit. I have a dr. appt in 9 days, then probably a mammogram.

Just worried that it might have spread to the bone? Does anyone else have arm pain?

Thank you.

Hello my friend I'm extremely new and this is my first time submitting to this blog. I will say this blog has been an inspiration to me since I was first diagnosed on 2/28/14. What struck me about your question is that the same thing happened to me. I noticed pain in my right arm for a couple of months, then one day I noticed a small lump under my arm for about a week. After a week passed I was showering and noticed the lump under my arm left and felt a lump in my right breast. I wish I had paid more attention to the pain in my arm... however, I would've never known that could've been a possible link to bc. I pray that all goes well for you at your appointment! Sincerely!!!

    Thank you Fultongreen!

You were JUST diagnosed. I'm sorry to hear that. Right now I'm just worried. I wake up at night with tingles, as if I'm sleeping on my arm wrong - but I don't think I am. The pain is dull, achy and concentrated in the forearm, but now I feel it on the shoulder/upper arm too.  I went to the doctor a bout 6 months ago for the arm thing - (Funny thing, I feel the same sensation in my right LEG. Achy, twitchy). The Dr. ordered a basic blood test to check my vitamin levels, everything was fine. Not checking for cancer!! I've been attributing it to a pinched nerve or carpal tunnel, but with the onset of this breast tenderness, now I'm freaking out.

Was your diagnosis strictly BC? Or has it spread to the ribcage or shoulder area?

    Thank you & take care.

    Good morning,

I had a CT Scan and Bone Density test just last week so I have not received the results from those tests. I can tell you this I'm starting chemo Thursday because of my lymph node involvment and honestly I'm ready to get this started. Every little ache and pain has me on edge... I'm typing you from the breast care center right now because my MRI picked up something on my left breast. But all in all Im remaining prayerful.

I have the exact same symptoms and am in physical therapy now.  Have you had a c-spine MRI?  Disc degeneration unrelated to cancer can cause those symptoms.  I've got median nerve constriction due to a pinched nerve in my neck that was aggravated during treatment from all the positions they had my arm and neck in.   Some of it is radiating out from where they did surgery and radiation by my armpit.  Constant dull aching in shoulder blades and forearm and annoying - my hand keeps tingling and going numb.   I've got something I thought was a lump, but it's scar tissue.  Hopefully it will end up being something non related to the bc.   You might want to ask your onc about some physical therapy or an epidural steroid injection if they don't find anything wrong.  Hope you get some relief!

    Thanks LilyLuv!

I just went to the dr. today for an initial assessment and she said she has no concern of BC, so that's good. She didn't feel any lumps or anything - and mentioned the tenderness could easily be from my new birth control pills I recently started. The achy, sore, tingly feeling is also in my right leg, so that is of concern. She gave me a referral to a neurologist and a brain MRI. Hopfully it's just a fluke but it's been going on for almost a year. At this point they are concerned with my brain or neck, not BC. Not sure which is worse. Maybe I belong in another forum now ;)

    Take care!

CsMom, I'm glad to hear that the doc doesn't think it's bc. Good to hear you're going to a neurologist to check things out.  Always something, hey?  Patch one thing and something else blows out. :-)    Hope you get to the root of the cause.

Csmom, I don't see your dx or treatment. The reason I ask, I have leg and forearm pain as a result of back issues.
