    Hi ladies,

My surgery is scheduled for next week:  UMX, no nodes, only breast tissue and muscle fascia (sp?), with no reconstruction.

For those of you that had a similar surgery, how many hours did yours take and how many hours in recovery before being discharged?

It was hard to contain a laugh when they told me "after you go home, rest for the rest of the day."

I guess some things aren't as obvious as they should be.   I'm still a bit surprised that this is OUTPATIENT surgery these days.

Left UMX was about 1 1/2 hrs with one node removed.  Recovery was a couple of hours and I was home early afternoon with a 2 hr drive.   Like you, we were stunned at how speedy of an outpatient procedure it was.

Thanks, that seems similar with what I was told. But it's probably better to mentally allow more time, in our minds (me and hubby and others waiting) because things have a way of taking longer, like waiting in pre-surgery ...
