Hi Guys

I'm 21/2 years out from diagnosis now. Had 6 months chemo, bilateral mastectomy and rads for 5 weeks all finished up in 2012. I do have some stress as living abroad and think we will likley move back (Myself and partner are British but living in Australia). Oh and I spend a few hours at work at the weekends as so much to do. Also my mum died of breast cancer about this time last year). HOWEVER, I don't think all of that is enough to justify my constant fatigue. I'm trying to get back to triathlon fitness. I do about an hour of exercise per day, some very high intensity sessions. But I just can't get out of bed before I absolutley have to (about 7.45am) to do anything in the morning. I get around 9hours sleep most nights, but seem to have an instatiable need for sleep. I'm fine at work, but just feel wiped out by the time I sit down in the evenings. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it improve? Any tips?

Thanks

    Hi boobytrap.

I totally understand what you are saying as I am constantly tired. I have always liked sleep but it is ridiculous now. I find exercise helps but really think the Tamoxifen is the culprit. Are you on any hormone therapy?

Wish I had an answer for you but can only commisserate.

    Sweet dreams!

thanks Odie16. Interesting. Yes I am on Tamoxifen. I think my breast surgeon would have preferred aromatase inhibitors for me, but too many side effects with them and my bone density, inspite of years of exercise, already low (I'm 45 now). (Having said that, I've had loads of bike crashes and never broken anything, so I think there's more to bone strength than density alone.)

The other thing I didn't mention was I was on herceptin for 1 year. But my heart function is supposedly all OK. So maybe Tamoxifen is the culprit. Mmmm. Will have to do a little research on this issue. I'll feed back anything I find.
