Is Femara hair loss permanant????
I am very upset. I am happy to be alive and thankfully well, but I just noticed my hair is extremely thin from Femara. I can deal better knowing this is reversible. Is it? I am scared I will wind up with bald spots....
Is it reversible and how bad will it get?

Bump! Anyone? Hair after Femara please?

I found 27 "hits" when I put "Femara permanent hair loss" into the search feature. 2 are your most recent. I doubt they all actually deal with the connection because the words merely have to appear somewhere in the post. But I think some of them would be a start for you.

Although I don't know about permanent hair loss with Femara I am wondering are you still taking it or have you switched to another Al? You might also ask your onc who is far more versed in such matters.
So sorry you are dealing with this. If it's not chemo that causes hair loss it's the Al's - when does it end?

I had quite severe hair loss with Tamoxifen but it has stopped with Femara and my hair is getting thicker again, so I would think it's a temporary SE. Fingers crossed for you!

Pamelahope hair loss on Femara is a SE but not as far as I know a permanent one. My hair got very thin but is now back to normal. Hope yours returns to normal soon.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

There are exceptions, but generally speaking, if the hair that falls out has a little bulb of keratin at the root end, it's not permanent. I found this out from my dermatologist when I had thinning from Femara and permanent baldness from taxotere.

In July 2017 I had a bilateral mastectomy due to being diagnosed with ILC stage 3C. All of the lymph nodes on my right side were full of cancer and were also removed...since then I completed 4 courses of A/C and 12 courses of Taxol...then 5 weeks of radiation. As soon as my chemo was done in mid January 2018 my onc put me on Letrazol ( Femara ) immediately and I am to take it for 10 years. I had lost all of my hair, eyelashes, eyebrows etc during chemo...my eyelashes and eyebrows started to grow back after a couple of months and then fell out again...they have now grown back again and are not what they originally were but at least I have something! I have found the upper lash line on my left eye to be extremely itchy...like almost constantly and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this annoyance?? Also I am still waiting for my hair to grow back! It's been 7 1/2 months now since my chemo ended and while I do have some hair regrowth it is all different lengths...the back and fringe of my hair might be about 2" at best...while the hair on the top of my head is maybe 1" if that...and my bangs are about 1/4-1/2" long. While I am thankful to be alive I want my hair back! I am frustrated and depressed...and I am sick of wearing a wig or a hat...yet I am so uncomfortable with my appearance I rarely even go around the house without at least a hat on. Has anyone else had a similar experience with hair regrowth while being on Femara?
