Happy Birthday 3jays!!! Hope you have a wonderful day!!!
Well girls I had the PT treatment yesterday and I am sore, sore, sore today......lol. I even had a phone call from the PT who worked on me to check and see how I was doing.......he did tell me I would be sore and he wanted to know how bad and if I had some better movement in spite of the soreness. I must admit that I do already so I'm happy to stick with the treatments once a fortnight even though I will hurt each time. The length of treatment is I just keep going back until he no longer hurts when he treats, at that time everything will be as it should be and I will be one very happy camper.......lol.
I have given up the thought of buying a new mattress for now as the prices are out of this world and I just can't justify the cost right now. While I was in the city yesterday I bought a memory foam overlay hoping that would help. I must say, that while it is not perfect it certainly is way more comfortable..........two of them together I think would make it just right but I'll have to save up as the jolly thing was $200 but still way cheaper than buying a mattress!
Have a great day all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

It's 3jays birthday? Happy Happy Day!!!!!!
chrissy, glad you are getting PT treatments even tho they make you sore now, hopefully there will be marked improvement. Is this for your knee?
ginger, I think I would have some sort of demolition ceremony for my back brace when I was done. Hang in there.
I am still getting OT for my hands, but it is gentle. not even trying to strengthen yet. I did make a fist in the shower this morning. Yahoo! The warmth helps so much. slowly, slowly slowly it is improving.
the roof deck roof has been put on in front of the bedroom. -
Nancy no it's not for my knee but for my neck and shoulders and once that is sorted he will work on the rest of me........lol.
Wow! Making a fist! That's awesome! I can't believe how well the rebuild is going! I am already picturing the windows and doors in and the paint job done and a fabulous little garden showing it all to it's very best.......sorry...lol....my imagination runs wild sometimes....hahahahaha!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

thanks for all the birthday wishes all!!! It was a quiet one.. too much going on, even for a celebration. Left over chicken; but homemade supreme bars from my son! Better than cake, for sure..
We're all having cake in April It will be 2 of the 3jays birthdays, and my grandaughter, me, and dh.. seems like that'll catch us all up then!
thanks again for the well wishes..
Nancy, It's going to be grand, when all done. thanks for the pics..

beautiful flower, lisa.
We are getting another snow storm starting tomorrow night. sigh! But it is suppose to warm right back up. So hopefully it won't set the work on the house back too much. It's going to be a nor'easter, so lots of wind, too. But we're pretty used to it. Trying to decide if I need the shutters put up.
My aunt fell on her trip back from FL and tore her leg open. Luckily no bones broken, but 6 stitches. So I am doing errands and making sure she has everything she needs.
chrissy, I get my neck and back worked on, too when I go to OT. I guess because of the Fibro dx. They use some electrodes that stimulate the muscles. It feels funny but good. Then they use a massager that vibrates against my back. I love going there. I hope your mattress topper helps with your back. I use one of those memory foam pillows that are designed to help keep necks in place while sleeping. My muscles are getting stronger because of the yoga classes.

Happy Birthday, Alyson!! Hope you're having a great day!
Nancy, the house is really shaping up quickly. Thanks for sharing the pictures as you go along. I love to see them. Hope your coming snow doesn't last long and won't slow things down too much!
Beautiful pic, Lisa. You're so fortunate to have such beautiful flowers all year long.
You're right Chrissy. Mattresses are outrageous. We have a company here in the Charlotte area that manufactures mattresses which sell for hundreds less than name brand ones, so we're very fortunate. Comfort and quality are comparable to the more expensive ones, only the price is less. We use one on our bed and are ready to buy another for the guest room soon.
Tomorrow is Grandparents' Day at DGS' Preschool, so we're looking forward to that. It's such fun to see their little programs. Afterwards, we're keeping DGS and taking him out to lunch, so it'll be a good day despite the cold and "wintry mix". Enough of this weather! Time for spring.
Hope everyone's doing well tonight.

I use a memory foam topper even though I'm on a brand new mattress!! I was able to actually feel the area of bone growth on my spine. It felt like I was lying on a small ball of socks. At first I folded the topper in two (hint Chrissy) as my body only really needed from my bum to shoulders. Got tired of adjusting the sheets (I put the topper UNDER the sheets) and can now tolerate it lain out flat. I use a pillow at bum level to keep me from sliding down my pillows as one under my knees just seems to float down the bed and I find myself waking up flat out.
mac, with that kind of protection on the upper door, do you still need the more expensive, non-breaking ones? Or is it, again, WHAT the wind is blowing....?

Happy birthday to 3jays and Alyson!

putting up shutters in this area (coastal) has more to do with insurance coverage than actual protection from damage. If that makes sense? The big windows on the bottom front will be impact glass so we do not have to wrestle with huge shutters. But the others and especially the smaller ones will be regular glass. I think we have to have impact on the sky lights. Today they were putting up the trim on the roof edges. I need to pick out a roof shingle color.
The shutters I had the carpenters put up today were on the house in front of this one, right on the cliff looking over the water. My father had some rather light weight panels made to be able to attach to the front of the house to protect the windows. It faces the north east where most of the wind comes from, especially in a nor'easter. The wind will be gusting close to hurricane strength. Anyway, better safer than sorry.
Happy bday, Alyson!!!!!
Kathy, have fun at Grandparent's day. enjoy the little monsters, eh, I mean darlings. (just joking)
The snow does not last long here this time of year. It will be up near 60 on Saturday. It will be more of an inconvenience than anything else. It should be done snowing by the late afternoon. So I probably will not open the shop and just stay in. Hopefully we won't lose power or at least not for long.

Love the house Maca it looks stunning.
Beautiful Autumn day here. Just letting you know.
Big hugs

I want to be sitting on that rock by the pink tree!!!
-
it is a beautiful little place...one of my favorites..
-
Lisa, love your photos as always. I've missed you posting on this thread.
-
these ducks like it there also
-
Kathy, I can't seem to post from my phone..
-
Beautiful ducks. I've never seen that type before. I'm just getting use to my smart phone. It comes in handy when I want my daughters to respond in a timely fashion. LOL They hate talking on the phone.
-
Lisa, I can't post from my phone, either. I can log in and read posts but can't post. I can write e-mails, though. Strange. I have an older "smart" phone, the free one!
-
Girls if you are having trouble posting from your phone, is that only since the last 'maintenance'? If it is let the Mods know so it can be rectified.
Lisa as always you photos are beautiful! Love the blossom tree and the ducks, they are so haughty in their look and stance they make me want to laugh!
Finally the soreness has almost gone from my treatment last Monday! It's taken a few days but the overall effect is I have better movement already so that alone will keep me going back for more. Hopefully at the end of it I can get totally rid of my pain pills and that will please me greatly.
Have a good day all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Glad it is going better Chrissy.

My cell phone is just a cheap trac phone, but I do have a new toy and even though I am still learning to use it, I love it. It's a Surface2 tablet. Instead of the typical smart phone style as I understand it. When you start a word it tries to guess what you want. It uses context and is uncanny in its choices. It also tries to give you the next word based on context and often can. Or you can just use it as a regular spell check.
It has two cameras so you can take regular pictures, Skype or take selfie's and see what's in the pic before you take it. Now I just have to figure out how to use it and how to post the picks.
-
The problem I have with my windows based tablet is there aren't many apps for it. I also have an android tablet. I guess I just have an operator problem. And that's your's truly.
-
My problem with posting from my phone isn't new. I should go by the Verizon office and check with them. I haven't noticed a thing different about bc.org since the maintenance. Other people have complained about problems.
Hope everyone has a great day.
