Liefie,
I want that pedometer! Mine tells me I've been sitting down all day even when I have spent three hours practising choreo on the risers!
Nihahi, I'm sure you are right. I'm sure there will be a "next time" but I think I will handle it better for having gone through this!
Bowling was fun last night. Websister is a "dark horse"! I'm sure she's been practising for weeks in order to whup us all like she did last night!!!
Hi to everyone else. Keep up the good work! xxx

Yikes…looks like someone needs to come out of my pocket and kick me to the eye doc. Of course it is the weekend, and I cannot do anything until Monday. The flash I saw was at least 2 weeks ago, and the floater I discovered 2 days ago…so I am thinking the flash created the floater. I am so bad..I just want to get the eyelid surgery over with…guess I am a little vain. But the Scarlett in me says, "I cannot worry about that now."
The machines are all repaired and are singing beautiful…finished cutting the living room and dinning room drapes last night. Plan on finishing them this weekend. Then all I have is the master bedroom. All the yards of fabric were rolled onto 1 bolt for shipping. So as I unroll the bolt, I have to sew whatever is next on the bolt. I am amazed that I have actually been doing something .
I will call the eye doc first thing Monday morning. Hopefully they can see me on Monday…then have my eyelid surgery Tuesday! LOL good grief what did I sign myself up for…another surgery…as a reward for the last 2. I think chemo has affected my critical thinking skills.
Liefie…keep moving those petals….10,000 steps in no time.
Nihahi…Hope you find a safe place to run or hike. You get wiped out with snow, whereas we get wiped out with pollen. The dogs go outside and come in covered in yellow pine pollen. The cars are covered in yellow. We dare not put out the patio furniture until the pollen is under control, because they will get covered with the stuff.
Must get back to the drapes…hope everyone stays safe and has a great weekend!

Liefie, pizza sounds good. Lovely to see you.
Mo/websister must get bowling myself. Ball tends to bounce when I do though.oops.
Watching " the Voice " some talent out there.

Sad news this morning. My brother called to say our 90 yr old mum suffered a severe stroke last night.
She survived it, and is in hospital, paralyzed on her left side. She is to be moved to the stroke unit today. She's a retired doctor, and a certified control freak to boot, and she will positively hate this!

-
Oh morwenna...I'm so sorry to hear this news. I am sending you and your family prayers. Such a difficult situation for you and your mom. I have somewhat of an understanding of what you are feeling....my mom also suffered a massive stroke, and I was living here in Calgary while she was living in New York. Distance seems to add a different dimension to the heartache. Expected or sudden, serious health issues with our parents or any loved one is never easy. HUGS!!!!!!!
-
Morwenna, prayers on way to your Mom, if she is like her daughter she will beat this. In my thoughts ,keep us posted if you can ((( hugs )))
-
Morwenna…sending you thoughts of comfort during this difficult time. I experienced the same event with my mom. Hope you are able to be with her as she heals. (((HUGS)))
-
Morwenna, sad to hear this. I understand so well being far away from your loved one . . . prayers and positive vibes sent your way!
-
Hi Ladies,
Morwenna…my thoughts are with you. Hope your mom has improved or stabilized.
I went to the eye doc today. The flash of light was "normal" for my age….if I had many flashes for a longer period of time, then time to go to the emergency room (detached retina). Floaters are also "normal" for my age… they tend to be more noticeable in bright light and a light background. So just some info to store aware in case anyone has a flash of light. So I am NPO after midnight…going for my eyelid and baggy eyes surgery in the morning. Then no more surgeries..if I can help it!
Hope everyone is doing well !
Jenifer

that's good news and great info, momoftwo....hope tomorrow finds you "bright eyed and ......well, maybe we don't need to mention anything about tails"...Yep....the LAST surgery is always something to look forward to!
mo....difficult time for you, I'm sure. You know how to contact your Calgary gang if we can help in anyway. XXXXOOO's

Well there has been no change since yesterday. She sleeps most of the time but will open her eyes for a few seconds if roused. She has a dense left sided hemiplegia but can squeeze a hand on command on her right side. She is on iv fluids but is not able to swallow, so no food. Dad has vetoed any form of tube feeding, with the family's full approval. She has been in very poor health for a long while now, and has seen two more Christmases than anybody expected! While I thank you all for your kind thoughts, there is zero chance of recovery. It's just a matter of time.
I'm just so sad.
-
Hugs, mo....this is the hard part of saying "goodbye".....Hoping your mom is comfortable and not too aware of things. It took 3 long days for my mom to pass. At some point, you just wish them to be at peace.
-
Hi
Morwenna, heart goes out to you and the family. Such an awful time,
I too went through this with Dad he was to be fed from a bag through port into stomach. It went wrong and he died. His quality of life would have been terrible as he was so active. Sometimes passing to the higher side is a blessed release.
Mom, relieved for you, phew. In pockets for surgery.
Off to see eye surgeon later. Hope the drops and ointment can stop soon. DH seems to enjoy doctoring me a little too much. Dont think I will risk second eye. She did say may not need doing.
Hope all well as can be with my sisters. X
-
Morwenna - praying that your Mom will be kept comfortable, and that you too will be comforted.
Edi - glad the eye is a bit better now - I went for an eye exam, and the doc told me that there is a cataract growing on my right eye - now I am scared to have the surgery done after your experience!!
Mom of 2 - in your pocket today - hope surgery goes as planned!
-
Morwenna, thinking of you and your family as you travel this one-way road with your Mom......always a difficult thing, to say goodbye to a beloved parent, even when you KNOW there's no way out for them.....I am so sorry....... (((Hugs)))
-
Morwenna, my heart goes out to you! Traveled the same road with my dad 7 years ago, and the end was a merciful relief. Strength and courage to you and your family in this sad time; you'll be in my prayers and thoughts.

soooo.......true......fyi......yep.......still snowing here.

Hi Ladies,
Eye lift..not such a great EYEdea. I look like I have been brutally beaten…Warning: do not read all those pretty brochures in the plastic surgeon's waiting room.
At least my swollen purple eyes will go with the lavender theme of the wedding It will be better, but my dogs barked at me.
Have a good day!!!
Jenifer
-
aww...take it easy for a bit jennifer, I bet by wedding time you'll be happy with the results. In the meantime.....rock those sunglasses!
-
nihahi - that video was HILARIOUS!!
jenifer - hang in there, bruises will fade, and it will all be worth it. Funny about the dogs, though!
-
Jenifer, are you regularly icing the eyes? That will prevent swelling and bruising. I had a tear duct repair last year. With regular icing I had almost no bruising or discolouring. Just put a few ice cubes in a small ziplock bag, and held it on my eye quite a few times a day. Surgeon was very adamant about me doing that.
That video is hilarious, Nihahi! LOLOLOL!!!!
-
Hi ,
Nihahi, LOVE the video ha ha. That snow had better stop soon !!.
Mom, I am with Nihahi on rocking the sunglasses and Liefie with the ice. You will be sooo gorgeous at the wedding. We have to see the pictures please.
Got to start baking a last minute cake ! Don't usually do one without a weeks notice but it's for a lovely lad who keeps our gas boiler ticking over at a very low cost so how can I say no.?
Sitting here looking very odd ( just for a change ha ha ) have had to take glass out of specs on cataract side as now vision is different. Can't get new ones for a while but surgeon reckons may only need reading glasses after next op.I think I will bite the bullet and have other one done in May. Surely same thing can't happen twice.
Morwenna, In my thoughts and prayers.
Love to everyone and the weekend is almost on us YAY X
-
Mum is steadfastly hanging on in there. I've decided to fly back next weekend for a couple of weeks, after dithering for 5 days!
Someone at work asked if I had any plans for THIS weekend. I almost said no, then .... Oh yes! My son's getting married. Again!
They married in Dec 2012, but DIL is apparently required by the Catholic School Board (with whom she is seeking employment) to have a Catholic wedding. So tomorrow's ceremony is a "convalidation" of their wedding, at a local Catholic church. Seems pretty silly, but an excuse for a celebration anyway!
I bought a new dress (I think its going to be my "weddings and funerals" dress!!) and had my hair cut again (which still feels like a novelty!)
I dyed it the other week ....

Here's my dear mummy

-
Morwenna - you look gret with your new haircut - is that still some chemo curl I see or is that natural for your hair? I am sure you will have a good time at the additional wedding ceremony tomorrow - I have a neighbour whose daughter in law had to do the exact same thing.
I am sure you will be happy with your decision to go and see your Mom - praying that she will be comfortable and free of pain. So is the baby that your Mom is holding?
Enjoy your weekend
-
Mo beautiful picture of u and mom!!!! Hope everyone is well. Crazy busy mom here !!! Love to all ! Muah
-
That's my brother's grandchild. Mum has four great-grandchildren now!
Yes, I certainly slept better last night for having made the decision. It won't be an easy trip, but I'm glad I'm going. Looking forward to telling Dad today.
Adagio, I do have a little chemo curl remaining; enough to give my hair some volume, which is great, as I used to have to perm it for the same effect!

-
Mo......enjoy the "wedding" celebration this weekend. You are looking good, m'dear!
I'm glad to hear you have decided to go back to spend some time with mom and family. I know how hard it was to make that decision, especially when (for me at least) the reality of financial cost had to be factored in. But, as hard a visit as it may be, it is also something that I'm sure as years go by, you will be very glad that you made the trip. I'm sure you will bring a smile to your Dad, when you tell him you're coming over. ((((X)))).
So much snow still in the mountains...it was a great ski yesterday....might actually go again next week!
.....it's actually sunny here at the moment....have GREAT DAYS EVERYONE!
-
Hi
,
Morwenna, glad you have made the decision to come and see Mom.Such a lovely photograph of her and little one.
The wedding sounds lovely and you look fantastic.
My hair has kept a bit of a twist in too and I LOVE it. Tomorrow being Mothers Day here I will bung in my velcro rollers for a short while and then it stays curly for quite a while.Nihahi, your pics are awesome
looks like paradise, snow or not,. relieved it has stopped at last.Sunny here too, all my solar lights should charge up really well. When they come on as darkness falls I always think of you all, they twinkle like you all do. Finished last minute cake in time, but my lovely customer has had to drive 5 hours to London where his sister is at the end of her fight with this sxxxxy illness. She was hoping to make it to the family gathering for the Diamond anniversary but it was not to be.
His wife will take their gift of the cake but needless to say there is no longer any joy in this day. When will they find a cure.?Had an e.mail from cancer research today, the" no make up selfies" on facebook have raised 8 million pounds in about a week.
enough to do ten trials . Dont know who thought of the selfies but what a wonderful way to raise money. I know the social media gets bad press but this at last is something positive.Must go and potter in the sunshine yay ! love to all x

Edi - happy Mother's Day - we don't have ours here until May. DH and I are off to Vegas for a few days - he needs a break from work, and I am always willing to tag along these days - anything to take my mind of myself and the pain.
Sorry to hear about your customer's sister. I just found out last week that my sister in England has just been diagnosed with advanced cancer of colon, liver, lungs and ovaries - they have given her only a short time to live - she is already in palliative care - am hoping to get to see her after my little trip to Vegas and after my oncologist appointment on April 17th.
Just finished making my daughter's wedding invitations - it was truly a labour of love on my part - but they look great and she is happy with them.
Have a great weekend everyone and remember to take great care of yourself.
-
hi
,Adagio, so sorry to hear about your sister. This illness doesn't stop in its destruction does it.Prayers going out for her.
Hope Vegas heat eases your bodily aches and pains somewhat, maybe a big win to pay for your trip here too .?
Thanks for Mothers Day wishes, thought you were different date, remember from last year.
We went to the same place for a meal but I was wearing" the wig "and appetite was mini due to chemo so had a kiddies meal
Hopefully this year will eat everything in sight !!.We lost an hour last night due to British summer time so all the Mom's will be pooped as the little ones will have been up at the usual time which will be about 5am old time.
DH and I just slept longer, some advantages to being old ha ha.Love to all X
