Medicare Part D

Options

Looking for some insight. My medicare for disability kicked in this month and now I guess I need to get Medicare part D for the drug coverage.  How do you decide which one? It's all very confusing.  Thanks for any help!

Medicare.gov is a website that can help you sort out some of these things. There is a section for Part D where you can put in the meds you take, which pharmacy you use, etc.  It will sort out the plans available to you that meet the criteria you have entered.  It's really a pretty simple website to navigate. It will show you which companies provide the meds you take and what the cost will be to you. It shows what the deductibles are and the cost of each plan per month.  It makes it really easy to compare the different plans.  I found it was easier for me to find the plan I wanted online then actually call the company for any other questions I had.  Hope this helps!

Yes, Medicare. Gov is the place.   And you need to check it each year at open enrollment time because meds and premiums change.  What's best for you one year may not be the next.

Thanks everyone! I managed to find someone local to help me go through the steps. I know it's not hard but my memory really sucks and I am paranoid of screwing things up.
