Hi June. I'm good thanks. I'm back to work on Monday so I'm just relaxing this weekend. I'll have to do some shopping tomorrow, so I guess I'll be going out at some point but not today. It was a t-shirt and yoga pants kind of day.

    How have you been?

hi red - lol, i usually wear pajamas at home. ah, you are going back to work next week...hope you get enough rest this weekend.

i am doing fine. relaxing at home, and reading this book "A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle". my integrative doc recommended me to read it. it talks about spirituality from religions point of view. quite interesting. i am only half way after 2 weeks. it talks about human being as one being the being (conscious self) that obscured by the unconscious self that driven by emotions and thoughts. more like the angle and devil inside us. will share more as i move along.

the reason he recommended me to read bc i told him i am the type take things seriously, and i went thru some tough times back in 07. basically he thought i need to learn to let go and relax....that something against my nature.

yesterday was beautiful here!  It  was sunny and 78!!  Tonight, it is suppose to rain and the high tomorrow 50:(. It must end soon lol!  The warmer weather puts me on a great mood.  I know the warmer weather means I am almost done with chemo.  I can't complain at all.  I am not having issues with it at all, and for that I am thankful.

June- how are you handling the Hormone pill?  Any SE's?  I am hoping it doesn't cause these severe hot flashes like chemo!  They suck lol!  Do you get any scans do check how you are reacting to it, or is that all done since you had surgery.  I am behind you on the medicine so trying to see what it might be like:)

Red- same thing being behind you on rads.  Any big advice?  I will be deflated on one side, so that should be interesting lol!  Someone said to get a cotton tank and wear it under my bra so I could put a foam inside the bra and not irradiate my skin.  Breast cancer such a hassle!:)

Trucking along!  But y'all know that since both of y'all can see my FB page right?  I am so ready for the nice weather to be here.  I really would like to walk around my block.  My legs are sore and feel like I need to stretch them for like days!  Hope we see sunny blue skies soon!!

Jodi - glad to know your don't really have any SE. For taxmo, at first I was having trouble falling asleep and had a lot of vivid dreams. It's been over a month and I could fall asleep and the dreams are a little better. At least I don't recall that many brain work in the dreams. But I've been taking herbs from an alternative doc to help me with the SE....but I also heard exercis can help as well and I have been exercising...may be that helped too.

Hey Jodi, I am now done rads. I really do have advice on it. And it's very presumptuous of me, but, it really helped me.

So, remember that rads are giving you a heck of a sunburn. With that you can expect chills, hot flashes, indigestion and diarrhea. Treat accordingly. Best thing I did was not put any creams on until I was 2/3's done. Then I used only Rx base. It is the base for all medical prescriptions.

2 times a day, right after my bath that was saturated by Epsom salts. Read the instructions and follow them cuz I'll bet you had no idea you were supposed to use 2 cups per bath.

My breast after 3 days post rads is visually turning breast coloured again. Not burnt like earlier. I'm a redhead so I'm used to sunburns, but at first I didn't equate rads to sunburns. Please do.

Hugs Jodi. Hope you do well with both your chemo and your rads.

June- what kind of herbs help with tam?  I'll be there soon!!!

Pipers- been thinking about you a lot lately!  Hope you are ok!!

Jodi - he gave me a list once and I don't really know what they are. His name is dr George Wong and you can find he was mentioned a few times in the alternative thread. If you want his info let me know I'll post.

I just called my mom and told her about me getting BC. I felt so bad....she was crying so hard. Breaks my heart...

Oh. June. I can't imagine waiting 4 months to tell my mom. How did you do this without your mom's support. You are a very strong woman to do it by yourself. But wow - how didn't you tell your mom?

because I didn't want her to cry...I just felt so helpless when I broke the news to her. She said she would rather be the one get BC instead of me....I just felt I let her down...I am crying

Oh June. No, no. She would never want you to feel that way. Never. Awww big hugs!! Don't cry sweetheart.

If it makes you feel any better, my mom was guilt ridden because she had bc in the same breast. She thought she had given it to me and it was all her fault. I had no idea. When she finally said something we both cried.

I think we need the support of our families, so I'm glad you told her.

Love you sweetie. Chin up. You've got this! Smile for your mom. She loves you.

June- glad you get to go see your family!!

    Red- travel safe!

I head back on April 1 for dose #2 of AC. The only issue I really had that bothered me is mouth sores.  I didn't get any with taxol, but sure did with AC.  I always got mouth sores before so I expected it.  I guess I was just lucky the first 12 weeks;). They hurt, but I can handle it.

Pipers- please stop by and let us know how you are doing!

Here is hoping everyone's weather starts to warm up For good!! No more freezing temps!!!  So sick of it!!

I finally made it back--woo hoo.  Slogging thru the worst of my tx as well--the chelation therapy has really messed with my head as I get very depressed and despondent over things that would not have bothered me as much before (and I mean before even after I found out about the BC)--everything just hurts worse inside but the mercy is that these episodes are comparatively short lived and then I'm mostly fine.  Still, it's taking a toll on my emotional life.  I did go to a retreat and out dancing this weekend though, so it's not all bad and then today I did almost nothing and refused to feel bad about it.  The really great thing is that not only do I hope this will treat my BC w/o the need for other stuff, but my brain may be better than it ever was before and I'd trade a pair of boobs for a brain any day.  I'm like the scarecrow:  if I only had a brain.  LOL.  Looking forward to it b/c mercury and lead really mess with it.

    hello everyone!!!

It took forever to get on the plane...they first delayed the flight then cancelled it. And they transported some of us to another airport (another state). Didn't fly until another 12 hours....sigh... It was hell wearing the compression sleeve for 36 hours.

It's nice to spend time with my parents....

    Red- how's the trip?

Jodi - love your FB post!!

Piper - how are you feeling? Did you remove the mercury or just the detox regime?

June- so you are with your parents now?  What a trip!!  So glad you are getting a visit!   Hope they feed you your favorites.  Thanks about FB.  I assume you are talking about my bald rant pic lol. I

Lost a dear neighbor/ friend's mom/ angel on Earth/ cancer buddy/ friend.:(. Even though she was my mom's age, and she would treat us that way, she was my friend.  It wasn't breast cancer and it happened so fast. She was dx 3 weeks after me a reoccurance and it was just one lymph node in her neck -Hodgskins.

Chemo wasn't a friend and it grew to the size of a golf ball. Radiation. Caused more SE's feeding tubes.  And then she went I to the hospital a few weeks back and got a stint in her kidney.  Did better, started eating.  But never came out.  Yesterday, my DH called at 8 am as I was getting dressed in my hotel room for dr and chemo. He told me the news.  Stunned.  Now I can't go to the service because I can't be in a group until after day 12.  I am so sad for her family and our community.  This is so hard! Losing people while you are fighting.  It is like a knife to the heart.  This was the fifth person I knew or knew family of since I was dx:(. Sorry to be a downer.  Just expressing it all here.

Good news- I only have two chemos left!!!  14 down and 2 to go!  Can you believe I have had 14 chemos!  That is crazy!  Still doing well.  Dr said if I get mouth sores that bad again they will lower my dose.  I said no. She said she understood why I said that, but hey had to keep me safe.  Mouth sores can lead to infections and put me in the hospital-  I did not take it that serious. I am going to pray and eat as little as salt as I can.  I had movie popcorn and the first sore came the next day- hmmm right.

Red and Pipers- Love and Light and super HuGS!!

Jodi:  I am so sorry to hear about your friend.  I too have friends my parents' age--after 30 it doesn't really matter how old they are but you love them anyway.  My "other mother" died of breast cancer a couple of years ago and it still hurts to go to a retreat and not see her.  I still get to see her lovely sister though.

June:  I hear you about the airport hell--it can be awful to spend hours in an airport, or worse, hours on a plane that isn't moving.  Have done both but I'm sure it was worth it to see your folks, and I hope they spoiled you.

    Red:  How was your conference?

About the mercury detox:  I've had 2 quadrants of fillings switched over, with a new one to do on Monday.  On Mon-Fri I take DMSA, a potent chelator, along with ALA and heavy duty B-vitamins, plus homeopathic meds for support and drainage.  (That is in addition to my other supplements.)  I have trouble remembering to drink enough water so I finally went and got a 2-1/2 gal jug of water and keep it on my desk.  You must drink enough water with this or you won't move the stuff out and it will keep cycling and trying to settle in new places.

I just found out an interesting risk factor for BC--big boobs!  Mine have grown a lot over the years--was a B cup in high school, C cup in my 20s and part of my 30's, moved to a D after my babies in mid-30's, and now a DD.  But now, possibly with the iodine and weight loss, I am back to a D and need to go buy all new bras again.  LOL.  So I wonder--if iodine shrinks your boobs, is it really the size that's the problem or the fact that they're bigger than they should be due to a deficiency?  I guess we can't know yet, but for all you guys who might be interested in alt/complementary therapies, I'm reading a tremendous book right now called Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients by Russell Blaylock, MD.  He talks about what to do if you want to go holistic as well as ways to make conventional treatment more effective and comfortable.  A really smart man is what he is.

June-  hope you are enjoying your visit!!  No mouth sores this time (knock on wood!).

I'll be getting chemo #15 next Wednesday.  Almost there- it has been very long though!  On the Dec Chemo board I am on, almost everyone is done or on a week or two.  I am one of the last ones to finish, they are preparing me though.  Seems that there is some after chemo blues.  I think because you assume everything will go back the way it was.  Their hair isn't coming in until 6 weeks post chemo.  Honestly, that is good to know now and not later.  I am very sick of looking  at myself this way.  I  think I look like a bowling pin:).   Also hoping the weight I put on really is steroid induced and goes away!!  15lbs:(. Really if I could lose just half of it that would be ok!  I sound like a big baby tonight ha ha!  Just want to get things back in order, but more than that never want to do this again.  That scares me more than looking like a bowling pin!

Checking in--can't believe it's almost been a month.  Jodi, are you finished now?  You said you sound like a baby, but I've been a big baby w/o all that.  I think there is not one person on this planet who would blame you.  Losing our looks, even temporarily, is scary as it triggers fears of abandonment.

And that's been my challenge as well--the depression is a hellhole.  I don't know if it's hormones responding to impending menopause or the chelation therapy or extreme loneliness, or all of the above, but I've been really down and it gets so bad at times that life does not seem worth living.  Fortunately these episodes are short lived, but I'm going to talk to my doc about it next Monday b/c this cannot be good for healing. I did get to see my two beautiful daughters this morning and we all went out for an Easter brunch and then I gave them gift cards instead of candy so today is a better day.  But, the other night I woke up after being asleep for about 10 min and just howled out my rage and pain.  Will have to think of better ways to cope.

Oh Pipers and others:  It is so frustrating when you can only help each other so much.  Some of you have given me such great information and friendship when I needed it so much and wish we could also provide each other with companionship when it is needed.  If I could visit you Piper and offer my friendship when you are down, I would be there in a heartbeat.  Glad today is a much better day :)
