The cold never bothered me anyway!

I was just freaking fine with the epic winter. All the better to hide my sleeve.

I hate that everybody is all whoopee spring.

I hate the most that dumb LE has turned me into the Snow Queen.

I used to love spring, I really did. All the flowers bloomed the week before my wedding and I felt like a Disney princess.

Seriously I should move to Alaska.

I can't hardly wait til Spring actually gets here -late May - so I can get out and be active!  Late spring, summer, early fall, it is so much easier to keep my LE under control.

Cookie, I hear you! Then again, I live in the desert, so summer never does look real great…

Good to see you back! How's it going?

    kicks...I like your positive attitude.

    Binney...hi:).

I am fine, work and marriage are good, arm is stable, my new insurance sucks as per garments and my fitter is semi-retired, so I am running around in some beat up garments, but new are on the way.

    Et vous?

I will say I never let cold keep me from activity, when I lived in the upper Midwest I would walk in sub zero temps. Ice is another story. Don't like slipping.

I live on the north western prairie and there is no way that it would be enjoyable to just get out for walks for months on end - no matter how much winter wear I put on.  Taking care of horses is another story - no matter what I feel - they have to be cared for.  Also not much of my exercise comes from 'walking' on my own 2 legs -  I want 4 under me.  (Or my 2 bicycle wheels)  The Base gym is great (indoor track and all sort of workout 'stuff') and I use it several timea a week but it doesn't give me as much or what being outdoors and doing all the things I love to do when it's doable outside does.

kicks , me too on wanting to be active outdoors! For me, it's a river with no sign of other humanity, paddling quietly by wildlife in and out of the waster. Or snowshoeing in a light snowfall. My DH and standard poodle along for the ride/trek.

carol - do you kyak?  I've thought about trying it.  The local Outdoor Womens group usually have a day/weekend in the spring when you can try it.  I had been thinking about a float for flyfishing instead of just bank or wadding.  But I'm thinking a kyak might work just as good for flyfishing but have a lot more opportunities for other fun than a float.  I've canoed and like it but it might be something that I can't handle getting loaded/unloaded by myself.  Hubby always goes with me when he is not working but as I don't work at a 'job' (except part time when needed)  I do like to take off by myself at times.

edit added: When I take off by myself, be it fishing, riding (4 legs or 2 wheels), or out in our boat, I always let him know when I'm leaving, where I'm going and when I should be back - just in case.

Cookie, I'm good, thanks! With all the compression I'm wearing, summer looks like misery to me, but at least we know it's coming and can plan the kinds of activities that keep us busy indoors (our local mall opens early every morning for walkers--ahhh, air conditioning!--and Parks and Rec has some fun classes offered, the neighbor lets us use her pool, and of course I keep jogging around the house daily--helps with picking up all the out-of-place "stuff" and jogging it back to wherever it belongs.) Busy enough to stay out of trouble!

    Hugs,

Hey Cookiegal. Nice to hear from you. I see you haven't changed your mind on wearing the dreaded sleeve. Me neither, but I have switched over to a black custom set and I feel more athletic in it opposed to medical beige. Although it is very visable I feel more acceptable, like I might have a sprained arm/hand and am going to physio. But if people inquire then if I am in the talking mood I will tell them about LE

Kicks, My DH has a float tube from years ago and loves it... That is when he has time to flyfish. He spends hours out there but I wonder if you could get the drysuit over your compression stuff. It may squeeze you too much or bunch up.

Binney, your smarter than the bunch of us because you accomplish housework whilst exercising.

    hugz4u...

I wear black custom as much as I possibly can!

With a sleeveless black dress it almost looks like an outfit.

Spring, Summer, Fall days though, the black can almost "burn" my skin, I get red swelling, so I have to switch to the beige during the day. I was driving today and my arm felt warm and I was like, ok, should be wearing beige.

(Could even happen on a long bus ride in winter if it is bright out)
