Um... overly perky?
I'm still trying to figure out the prosthesis thing. I ordered some foam foobs which I like, and are comfortable, and are the second smallest size, but well. . . they're a little too perky - like I'm twenty again. I'm sure I'm just being self-conscious, and anyone who didn't know wouldn't bat an eye, but... are the microbead forms better for this problem or are there any tricks to solve this issue? I haven't gotten my official prescription ones yet, and will wait until after rads are over... but any suggestions welcome.

Might not be the pros but the bras you're putting them in. Different ones are designed to fit/look different.

The microbead forms do drape better but if you don't have the right bra they flatten out. You need a bra that has a definite cup shape, not a typical exercise bra. An exercise bra that has the privacy cup inserts should work though.

Hi Lojo, I agree that the the Micro bead foobs are probably better for draping. They sit petty well in a knit bra like a Genie, or an Ahh bra, or a sports bra, with the modesty cup inside, like River Rat suggested, but there can be issues with the bra riding up. There are some lighter, weighted foobs around but they aren't super cheap. I have heard of some women adding a little weight into the micro bead foobs with rice or light fishing weights.
I have a few different types of foam foobs, one has a weighted center, and it sits really well in most types of bras, but I have found that in general the foam ones are a bit too "out there" and perky.
There is a Mx bra made by Amoena, which really gives a nice line with almost all different types of foobs or Prosthesis. It is called the Mona, and has the bilateral pockets and is made from a fabric that is quite relaxed and comfortable, this bra may actually be fine with the foam foobs you already have. If there is a store that sells Amoena near you, it may be worth trying, because it will be good for any other Prosthesis you may get in the future.
When you get to be fitted after your rads you'll see how many different options there are for size and weight of prosthesis.
Good Luck!

Thanks all - I have them in a cami top today and they look better. I think it's likely the bra, which I think was made more for the fluff things. I'll check the hospital shop today to see if they sell the Amoena products.

I hope you find something that works for you, Lojo, but in the meantime... your choice of thread title makes me smile!

I had to laugh when I saw this thread--I wore my foobs for the first time yesterday (and probably the last for a while), and could hardly keep a straight face the whole day. For one thing, it felt like walking around with a blonde wig on and acting as if there was nothing different (I have dark brown hair lol), and the other is that I kept hitting them on things, or with my hands. I kept thinking, man, I managed for 44 years not to whack my breasts into things, or hit them when I gestured! They are foam, and I felt like I was hitting a piece of furniture every time I hit them, definitely not like something that was (sort of) attached to me. I also kept wondering if people's natural ones are really that high and perky--mine hadn't been for many moons, but I don't recall them ever having been THAT perky!

Too funny! I rarely wear foobs, but when I do I find myself touching them!! I must make quite a crazy character to be walking about, checking out my own "boobs".

Thanks for the laughs, Aunt Paula & Crystalphm! For me, most of those issues went away when I got silicone forms, but I definitely had them with the foam foobs. I'd get really busy at work and forget about them, only to later realize they were up way too high on my chest, or too far over to the side - they were like UFOs with minds of their own! When I wasn't distracted by other things, I fussed with them constantly - touching, tugging, trying to imagine how they looked & felt to other people (not that a lot of people walked up and felt them, but I live in the south so hugs are not uncommon, even in the workplace!)
From day 1, the silicone forms worked fine for me, though, and were such a relief. But I do still touch them sometimes - lol! (Anyone else got the old Divinyls song stuck in their head now?)
