what was your mass comprised of and does stage matter?

Hello ILC Friends,

I received my pathology report on Monday and in my 7 cm mass within my left breast, I had a lot of LCIS (40-50%), and a lot of fibroadenoma like tissue. ILC was dispersed in areas with the LCIS, approximately 2.5 cm. Anyone else have a large mass with mostly LCIS and "mystery meat?"

Regardless the good news is that the bad stuff is 95% estrogen positive and 90% progesterone positive. HER2 negative. 6 node clear. Clear margins.

So when people ask me what stage, I tell them it doesnt matter in my case, but would I just count the area of ILC for size?

They dont know if my mystery meat is some weird form of borderline phyllodes tumor in combination with the ilc/lcis.

Hope it is helpful. I also had a lot of LCIS near my ILC and some dcis thrown in just for fun. Not sure about mystery meat! Did they not tell you on the Pathology Report your stage? And I only count my ILC size for staging, that is the invasive (scary stuff) so that is what matters and brings us here.

I am sure other ILC sisters will be here so to offer more advice. My best to you.

I had LCIS mixed in with my ILC. They didn't tell me how much of either. I think there was some DCIS too. My tumor started at about 7 cm but I had chemo prior to surgery and it was almost 2 cm after chemo.

i had a 10cm benign tumour in my breast, Some of the cancer tumour was in this. The benign tumour i had was a harmatoma which are common enough.
