victor wong. I met him in sacramento where he lived at the time, through his children who were my age at the time (20's). he was in big trouble in little china, other movies like that, and he wanted to take me to china with him for the filming of "last emporer of china, and he was really the character called arthur ma in jack kerouac's big sur book. i could have been the first white woman admitted into the forbidden city... i asked him to take this woman nancy, instead, as she was more his age, and they fell in love for awhile...he was 60 at the time. i met many people through him, and he passed the day after september 11, because he was very worried about his two sons there. he was fun.

Used to play with Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie Spenser on General Hospital) when I was young. Her dad and my dad were best friends growing up. Would play with her and her sisters when I visited my grandparents and they were visiting theirs.

Have also had the pleasure of listening to Deepak Chopra, Della Reese, John Gray, Marianne Williamson, Tony Robbins and Wayne Dyer in my small church (located in a shopping center) back in the 80's before they were known. Mark Victor Hansen (and family) and his partner Jack Canfield (authors of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series) were members of our church, saw them often. Was a facilitator at a couple of MVH's workshops.

Someone else famous I have met.....

elvis costello's drummer, Peter Thomas, and his wife Judy. they just live a couple blocks away, we met through mutual friends, and we did some remodeling work for them at their house. They are so funny! and we have gotten to go to two great parties, because of them! i am not bragging here, i just love almost everybody i have ever met, and am even friends with ruby, the pharmacist assistant, and a lady Nancy, who works at trader joe's, and who walked herself through the whole bc experience, while in her thirties, living alone in new york. I just adopt people with my heart, every where i go.

Wow 2nd! All those you mentioned are remarkable people whom i have read or studied, even before they were well-known, lucky you! ok, question: if you could heal one aspect of your personality, what would it be?

after today, fear of IV's! Lol! In general, there are 2: my shyness and the constant feeling I'm not good enough.

Wish we lived closer, you sound like a gem!

Like your idea, Kathec, going to use it again: if you could heal one aspect of your personality, what would it be?

...i think same as you: altho i seem to be coming out of my shell a little, since bc dx, and sometimes lately, i am beginning to feel i am getting good enough1 lots more work to do on procrastination, and just a little medically paranoid, lately! gonna work on not putting off the things that make me happy, and also a volunteer position, somewhere, cause it does make me feel good about myself! maybe one day, we can get out the train schedule, and we could meet in the middle!

one more self improvement type thing would be...

I wish, wish, wish that I would have more will power when it came to food. I seriously have none! Maybe to a Caribbean island; where I would have gotten a deep tan, drunk many umbrella drinks, & made out with someone I hardly knew.....if I went now I would have to be slathered up with sunscreen under the umbrella, stick to the one drink rule, & hang out DH who would be grumbling the whole time because he doesn't like the ocean!!!!

    Everybody should......when they are young.

my brothers: once he told me he sharpened teeth and sold paddles.

(i think he meant he tried to help people become more aware, and the paddle was for that canoe that was up S**T creek.)(in reality he takes care of a dying man)

if i couldn't be that, then i would choose..
