    hi ,

Debzjourney, welcome, welcome. Sorry you have to be here, but is a wonderful place to be.Any questions please ask, one of us will have the answer.

Websister, gosh the fatigue  Hope it lifts soon. Good luck at your appointment.

Nihahi, your pictures make my day.  DH took one look and wants to emigrate. You look beautiful as ever.

Morwenna, thoughts going out to you. I am sure they are just being extra vigilant and all will be ok. hope results come through faster. Kick ass if you need to, I did with the bone scan because like you could think of nothing else. sure they don't even think that at the hospital. Walk a mile in my shoes springs to mind.

Mom, how are the drapes coming along, hope you are keeping well ?

eye became a problem due to scratch on cornea "ouch " saw Doc this morning. She removed pad and I could see out of it for first time in five days !!

Pad and ointment back on for another day to make sure.

As my BC buddy said nothing compared to last year. This too will pass.

Love to all, going to look after GD after school, she is going to "nurse " me better. She is upset there is no blood. Gruesome little darling.

Sure she will be in the medical profession when she is bigger, she is so sweet but also loves all the blood and guts.

    Hi Ladies,

Welcome Debzjourney…hope you are doing better as you get a treatment plan in effect. We all are warriors, and here to support you.

Well, it seems that I have a talent for destroying sewing machines. The first one (my work horse) has bobbin issues, so I switched it out with its twin which is suppose to live in Oregon. Then last night the motor s l o w l y died. It was all I could to get enough "juice" to finish the seam I was working on. So today when DH gets home, I have to take my machines into the Singer hospital. Hope they can get repaired…and quickly. I was just getting my skills back, and they failed me. But I did finish the kitchen and laundry room, so I will be shipping those off to Keiko Cottage this week.

Hope everyone is doing okay. Mo…it is crappy to have to wait so long for your results. If I were closer I would come up with a scheme to trick them into getting those reports out faster.

I seem to have a "cold"…the first one in many years. I am suppose to have my eyelid surgery next Tuesday. I need to get over this thing before then…do not know whether calling my GP will make any difference, since it is probably viral. March has the craziest weather….first it is spring like…then we get hit with cold and rain…and the highest pollen counts around.

I do have a question…has anyone developed a neuropathy in their feet several weeks after finishing chemo? Mine is not severe, but it is definitely there. I hope this is temporary and not going to get worse. Also, how long should I expect to look like a baby chick with this hair fuzz. I told by DD that the wig is becoming itchy and I might follow Edi's advice and flip the thing on the dance floor at some point during the reception. If I do I will be sure to send pictures…LOL

Have a wonderful day…Play and have some fun!!

    hi ,

Mom trust the flipping machine to pack up when you on a roll.

as for the fuzzy chick look it suddenly becomes a proper covering. If wig itchy make sure you have a lining under it. You can use a pop sock, or they do have them on the internet.like a little nylon pull on hat stops the tickle. If all else fails looking forward to the photos. That should put the wind up SIL. Ha ha.

Edi, happy to hear the eye is better. Are you seeing better now that the cataract is gone?

Jenifer, did you have 4 rounds of chemo? We had the same cocktail, and yes, I do have neuropathy in two toes of my left foot. Onc said it would go away, but it is almost 2 years since last chemo, and it's still there. It was worse in the beginning, but now it is something I'm aware of only now and then. It does not really affect me much at all. Hope you get your sewing machines up and running again soon - good for you on finishing those curtains! Wig or no wig, you will enjoy your DD's wedding. I managed to keep the wig on the whole night at my DD's wedding in 2012, but it was not too hot.

PS office called today. My final recon surgery has been moved up from April 23 to March 31, which is next Monday. I say bring it on so that this can be over and done with. It's day surgery, not a big deal, and I will be home the same day. It will be such a relief to have this behind me finally. I'm sooooo ready to move on.

    hi ,

Liefie, pad came off this morning, scratch has healed at last. now I can see  Bit misty due to ointment going in four times a day bit yes when no gunk in there everything brighter and clearer. Doc was so apologetic that I had a problem and I couldn't have been treated better. My cousins daughter works in records there and said she was so shocked as this never happens. Trust me. .such a relief not to be doing my pirate impersonation GD went home with patch on last night she was fascinated.

appointment next Tuesday so hopefully ointment will cease then.Last night it all flared up again I stomped into Kitchen roared at DH who redressed and splodged tons of cream in. I then went to bed and prayed to every being out there, also did Reiki on it. This morning " healed " wow didn't realise how much we take for granted. Off to bingo this afternoon, haven't been anywhere but hospitals for a week.

Will be in touch re skype x

    Good Morning Ladies,

Liefie…thanks for the info…Yep, we had the same "cocktail". I am not going to worry about it. Sometimes I feel it, other times not. Hopefully it means that the chemo reached all the sneaky places that the CA cells like to hide.

Edi…so glad your pirate days are over! It is always something. But I am so relieved that things have cleared up.

Well, I took the machines into the hospital. The motor was definitely gone. Of course these machines are 50 years old and Singer does not make the motors for them anymore (thanks China). But the Singer man thinks he can rebuild it. So hopefully I will have "Thing 1 and Thing 2" back today or tomorrow and I can get going again.

I went to bed early last night in hopes of getting this cold under control. I took a nice cocktail of meds left over from all my surgeries and I slept sooooo good. DH said I snored all night. Sorry about that, DH, but I believe the snoring thing was in our marriage vows

Hope everyone is doing well. It is time for some house cleaning, so I will close for now. Have a great day

    Hi

Mom hope the cold is better. Know what you mean about sewing ma chines. My last house was very big so I had my Nana's tredle operated machine in one of the bedrooms I made a floor length cover and it doubled as a dressing table. I loved that machine !!

Never a problem with it and it must have been 100 years old. My Nan taught me on it and I made so many things using just my own power.

Hope you get a machine back that will last as long.

In charity shop this afternoon and starting to finally feel " normal " after this journey through BC with you all. Onwards and upwards whooooosh xxxxxx

YAY  We are all such worry pots, I now have decided that I will treat BC as a past illness. Feeling full of beans "parp"Happy and positive come and join me. We really mustn't let it ruin whatever time we have left.We could have been on that plane that vanished we could get hit by a truck whilst out shopping  .  You me and all the girls on here have been to hell and back now the future awaits.

Nihahi, stay safe in that blizzard! It looks ba-a-a-a-a-d . . . .

Edi, so agree with everything you said in your post. And yes, we could have been on Air Malaysia 370. Can only imagine what the family members must be going through.

Thanks everyone. It seems incredible to me that we can get so caught up with eachother's dramas.

Nihahi, I got so knotted up that the past few days I've been practically paralyzed! I didn't even go to sing on Tuesday as I felt so exhausted. Today I took a day's leave so I was luckily at home when the doctor called to put me out of my suspense.

I know I should be over the moon, .... and I am, truly, .... but I just need a little time to process this and move on .....

Got bowling tomorrow evening with the recovery group girls .... I was on the point of dropping out of that, but now looking forward to seeing everyone after all! :)

Oh  Morwenna, I am so happy for you!  What relief! And has already been stated...get on with the business of living!  Yay!   This news made my day, for sure! Envious of your Dragon Boat racing!

Edi, I am so glad you are getting back to things.....that cataract surgery, necessary though it was, had no business going south on you like that, although I thought the pirate look a la Johnny Depp looked rather dashing on you!

Mom.....hope your get the sewing done that you want to.......they truly DON'T make things like they used to, for sure!

Nihahi, I have no words........unbelievable weather!  Here is a picture I took when I walked the dogs today......

Flowering Quince......I love seeing it in the spring.....

Liefie.......got your letter today.......thank you, my friend!  Excited that you get to be DONE as of next Monday!   I am now thinking about my tattoos.......

    Hi Nerdy

Wow get, up mug of tea and log on. such a lot going on. Alberta girls, that weather SUCKS big time. you are all such cheerful bunnies despite it, so I salute you.Hope spring gets there sooner than flaming June.Singing

Websister, ok now we have to get you back to feeling good. April 1st is the 39th Anniversary of DH's vasectomy TMF I know but it was a lucky day for us and will be for you.

Movie, lovely picture hope you are cooking on gas and all is well.Happy

Mo, feel for you dear friend, after all that worry it takes a while to get back to normal. Go bowling have fun and pretend those pins are "you know what" and smash them Devil

Nihahi, wish I had a magic cape, would fly and dig you out and melt that awful snow. Then collect the rest of the girls and we could have a session in Timmies ? I hope that is a coffee shop and not something else. Winking

Liefie, see you later. YAY Nerdy

Mom, that singer better be back and working ? Smile

Off to shops to raid DH's wallet. Poundland won't know what has hit it. Laters and love to all X

    Hi Ladies,

Mo…funny picture..almost lost my mouthful of coffee!

Movie…I had that plant in Oregon but did not know what it was. Every Spring I look at all the beautiful flowering bulbs and plants, and say to myself…I should plant that in my yard. But do I have any flowering bulbs or plants…Nope

So "Thing 1 and Thing 2" are back and suppose to be ready to sew. I cleaned house yesterday, so hopefully I will get back to my projects.

One of you, I think it was Jennie, said that I could lose my eyebrows and eyelashes around 6 weeks after chemo. So I looked in the mirror and guess what!…almost no eyebrows and eyelashes. And to make things even more interesting I have developed "floaters" in my right eye. I had noticed this strange flash of light in the corner of my eye…so I googled all this and it seems I need to get to the eye doctor. I am scheduled for that eyelid surgery on Tuesday, and I am sitting here procrastinating about calling the eye doctor. Oh wise Edi, what should I do? LOL  ARGH

Websister…reading about your appointment schedule was enough to count as a cardio workout for me! Hope all tests are normal.

I just kinda want to stay away from doctors for awhile. They seem to keep finding little things to worry us to death, and then are so slow in giving us the results of all the extensive testing.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday…Yippee, I love Fridays!

    hi ,

Mom, glad singer back , when my eyebrows thinned a lot I got a fibre type mascara in brown and very lightly brushed over remaining hairs, fibres clung and gave the illusion of brows.also used eyeliner for first time ever, helps disguise lash loss.

hear you with the eye Doc  I can now see out of cataract free eye, bit gravelly sensation but no more pain. Really thinking twice about second one in May but know I was just really unlucky and they did sort it. Floaters are such a nuisance Also flashes MUST be checked. Please get to Doc ASAP. So agree with fed up with Docs and waiting for results, worse part ,but eyes are precious. ( windows to the soul ) they at least can usually diagnose on the spot.

Keep us posted but don't delay. X

Good news last night, despite interview with huge patch over eye ,got my dream volunteer job at cancer hospital. I will be in "Headstrong "which is where ladies are advised on wig wearing and scarf tying, scalp care etc.DH is even happy with this ,so that is a plus. Only couple of sessions a month but gets me out and about.

Lovely quiet weekend ahead here, hope you all have fun X

momof...hope you followed wise Edi's advice and are going to get the eye checked out asap. Not something you WANT to do, but something you NEED to do. We will jump out of your pockets so no one gets bruised if you need a boot in the butt to make that visit. (then of course, all is forgiven and we'll climb back in the pocket. XXXOOO).

edi......spitting coffee at the Vasectomy Anniversary....really....you remember THAT date??? Guess it's a good thing it happened, or you might have been the forerunner of that lady in the states...you know...the billion kids and counting family! Your volunteer spot sounds good....hope hubby truly stays out of it this time, and lets you enjoy it to the max.

mo....have both feet come down yet?? It takes time to put the "scare" behind you, but you will, and next time (yes, I bet there will be another "worry" show up, you'll likely not be quite as terrified). It's just something we learn to live with, and get better at handling. Eventually.........

I put on double layers and grips on my shoes yesterday and went for a short run in the heat of the afternoon. All was good until I turned into the -13 windchill. I'm going out today too...I REFUSE TO GIVE IN TO THIS ****ING WEATHER ANY LONGER!!!! My skis are full of pine needles, and I don't like blazing down the trail on ice, so skiing is done for this year. Same with shoeing....I'm ready to get hiking and biking.....!

Morning girls, so happy to read that everybody is doing so well, and that everybody is reasonably healthy. Mo, you can relax now. How this disease can throw us off balance, and steal our joy any time . . .  Websister, hope your results are nothing but good, and that fatique will prove to be still a leftover from your chemo which will go away with time.

Thanks for the skype yesterday, Edi! It was lovely as always, and it is so good that you are your old spunky self, sore eye and all. Made those thincrust pizzas on my newly acquired pizza stone on the gas barbecue. First one was bacon and avocado. We let it go a little too long, and crust came out too black for my taste, but everybody else gobbled it up. Next one was a meatlover's pizza which we put on for 7 minutes, and it came out perfect. The pizza stone is all black and dirty, but after cleaning it will be ready for the next round. The pizzas taste 100% better than in the oven, and it is so quick too.

Jenifer, those floaters can also be leftovers from chemo. If I remember correctly, I had them for a while, and then they disappeared as mysteriously as they appeared. But have it checked out; you never know. Three months PFC at my DD's wedding I had no eyelashes and no eyebrows, but the make-up girl did a splendid job, and nobody can tell from the photos. Have all my lashes back as they were before, but left eyebrow will never be the same. No big deal - I am here. That's the important thing.

Nihahi, that's the spirit! Show that snow who's boss! LOL.

Movie, that letter took its sweet old time, but just glad you received it. YAYYYY!

Today is a music day. Playing for two services tomorrow, many hymns, so organ is required. Played more piano than organ lately, so will be putting in a good practise today. They funniest thing is that my pedometer 'reads' my playing the foot pedals as steps, so it is a workout at the same time. Hahahahaaaaa. Will probably have 10 000 steps in no time - good.
