Question for those who wrap every night
the first layer of white light gauze gets ratty fast. How often do you replace it and where can I buy it? Also I have considered getting the caresia bandage liner to avoid this problem. Is that a good idea or is there another solution? Barb

bhd, OK I don't wrap as much as I should do. When I do, its for 24 hrs at a time. Initially I started with the gauze layer which, as you say doesn't last that long, although if yours is the same as mine, Id say maybe 6 to 10 washes. I don't really know because I only used that gauze about 3 times before LEist came up with a tubular type stuff that does away with the need to use gauze and those cottony type bandages (dont know exact;y what theyre called).
When MOds restore the ability to uplaod from HDD I'll post a pik. Its unusual stuff and Ive not got a clue what its called. Its almost spongy on one side with a fine pearl stitch type backing on the other and has no seams. Initially it was put on with the spongy side next to my skin and left lots of tiny indentations. DIdint like that so turned it in the other way and it seems to be OK and do the same job if not better then the gauze and cotton wrap.

I've been able to reorder all of my supplies on the Internet, including a tubular type gauze that I use for the initial layer. I wrap every other night. If you need to know the names/types/specifications of the supplies or the specific website, just let me know.

yes please i would like to know where to get the gauze

bhd1: I usually get my TG tubular gauze Stockinette at either Lymphedema Products:
http://www.lymphedemaproducts.com/products/tg.html
or at Bandages plus:
http://www.bandagesplus.com/bandages/tubular-tubul...
There are many different types of products available though so check out some of the other options on these sites.

The smaller the number the narrower the gauze tube. I generally use a size 5 or 6 for my arms and I would wear a medium/medium large size compression sleeve if I was buying off the shelf. The length of your arm doesn't matter since you can cut the tubular gauze as long or short as you need. The gauze is also fairly stretchy so it can accommodate various sizes within reason. Generally size 5,6,7 can be used for adult arms or children's legs. Sizes larger than 7 are more often used for adult thighs or legs. The very largest sizes can be used for truncal or abdominal wrapping.
I think 5 or 6 is the most common used in LE wrapping for adult arms.

it comes in xxxs. xxs xs. s. m etc

Sizes are listed as TG 5, TG 6, TG 7 etc. Some sites also add a xxs xs s med etc. but they always should have the TG # listed.
Here is the list from Lymphedema Products:
Here is the link on Bandages Plus for the TG Stockinette:
