PLEASE Help GRADE 3, Level 1 T2 , HER-2 Positive Breast Cancer

i am 70 years old i got diagnosed December 2013 with GRADE 3, Level 1 T2 , HER-2 Positive Breast Cancer (ER, PR, & Her-2)

the report says i have a 2 CM Mass, Five O Clock position right breast I have been put On Herceptin, Chemo and Perjeta.

is this a death sentence? whats my chances of survival? my plan is 8 rounds of chemo every 3 weeks, surgery then radiation. what is my chances of surviving this? should i plan to die in the next 6 months since i have such an aggressive from of cancer? . i here you die pretty quick from this. is the end near?

i have went for a battery of tests, blood work MRI's Pet Scans and SO far is has NOT Spread. its only in my breast that i know of, that tests show.

    Based on what you've said it looks like you've got a 90% chance of still being here in 5 years time (based on an online calculator http://www.predict.nhs.uk/), so I wouldn't rush out spend all your savings in the next 6 months.

    I did the cancer math one and at 15 years, about an 89% chance of surviving cancer. She flung everything at it too. Try to keep positive!

    Hi Helen: If you look at my signature line, you can see that our diagnoses are very similar. Me - 2.2 cm. and .7 cm invasive tumors diagnosed in 2008. Now, my next oncologist appointment is February 2015! No, this is not a death sentence. You have a wonderful chance of doing just fine. Let me know if I can help in any way.

    Hi Helen, 

    I know that being diagnosed with this is terribly scary, but from what you have said, there is no reason whatsoever to think that you will die from BC in 6 months, and it is very unlikely that you will die of breast cancer at all ever. That doesn't mean that there is no possibility of that happening just that the chances are very low. 

    Breast cancer that is confined to the breast can not kill you. It's only when breast cancer spreads to organs, bones, etc. that it can kill you. Right now your scans show that it has not spread to those places. There is always a chance that the cancer has spread to distant places and is just really tiny - a few cells, and this is what Chemo is designed for - it's really a just in case measure that goes through your whole body targeting any cancer cells that might have escaped the breast. It's really likely that you will have surgery - and that's to get rid of all the cancer cells in your breast (and lymph nodes if you have any there). You might have RADS as well just in case some cells in the local area weren't gotten through chemo or surgery.

    The treatments won't be 'easy' - they are a big pain, but chances are that you don't have any cancer cells outside of the breast area and even if you do, the treatments will kill THEM dead.     Helen,  You'll be fine. Years ago before Herceptin the prognosis for HER 2 dx  WAS poor.

    Now we have new RXs, Herceptin and Perjeta which stops HER@ disease in it's tracks.

    I thought I was  gonner with the advanced dx I had , and 12 pos nodes. That was almost  9 years gao, and I am healthy!
