Phantom nipple pain?

Over the last few days I've noticed a sharp pain where my nipple would have been. I had a BImx 11/27 with 25 lymph nodes removed.I tried TE's but ended up having them removed due to infection. I've done a little googling on this, but thought I'd come here and see if anyone has felt this. I've also noticed that when I wake in the morning my chest feels sore, but that just could be from sleep. The pain isn't unbearable, I'm just wondering what this is. Oh and it's on both "breasts".

Tangandchris, I had exactly the same thing.

I remember when my bs rang me with my path results, I asked him to ask the person who had my breast to stop squeezing the nipple because it hurt!

Just so you know - I'm three and a half years out from my mx and I still get that feeling in my nipple, the one that's not there lol. It's not really painful, but I can sure feel it.

It still feels as if my breast is there, and sometimes it itches too - and I can't scratch it to make it feel better. Apparently it's the same phantom pain that amputees of arms, legs etc feel.

I get that also.  I'm wondering if anyone has pain in the area where their drains were.  I had mine in for two weeks, got them out on New Year's Eve.  The pain I have is at the drain sites and around to my back. It's weird because it's still numb but also hurts, if that makes sense.  Kim

I get the phantom nipple pain too, and it drives me nuts, and the underarm/drain pain. I am still numb but a few nights ago I was having pain in the area of my armpit, and I couldn't tell where it hurt, but I knew it did. So strange!
