hmmm.....this is interesting to me anyway....in 2009 I was chosen as North Dakota's Abraham Lincoln Fellow & got to go to Springfield, Illinois & spend a whole week with 24 other history-nerd teachers (they split the 50 states into two groups), learning about Lincoln, going to historic Lincoln sites, listen to presentations by experts, participating in activities & discussions. It really was the most fun week ever!

I was an extra in the movie "Cold Turkey" which was filmed in Greenfield, IA. I met Dick Van Dyke and Bob Newhart. This was a LONG time ago and I bet most of you have never heard of the movie!

I'm an adult Girl Scout. I'm no longer a leader because the girls in my troop have all graduated from high school and now college. I still volunteer on the Service Unit level and the Council level.

The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
A reluctant centenarian (who is an explosives expert with a fondness for vodka) decides it's not too late to start over . . .it has a Forrest Gump flavor and the plot is so twisting and funny! I read it aloud to a friend during a long road trip, and we were laughing so hard we almost drove off the road a couple times!

My love of shoes .... My ancestor was transported to Australia .. His crime, he stole a shoe, a very interesting fact about the convicts is that there were only 3 sentences you got 7 years, 14 years or life but very few ever returned to England, they made their life in Australia after they finished their sentence.
