American Idol Season 13 - The Voice Season 6

I won't be able to join the discussion for a couple more hours
-
Joni it's been 19 hours
so what do you think about new season ?
(((KAREN)))♥
-
I am ok with it. I have a hard time with Usher honestly, but I like Shakira. The talent so far really hasn't blown me away. There wasn't anybody last night that knocked me off my feet. We shall see.
-
Back to AI
Dexter
-
I voted for Alex, Sam, MK & Ben.
-
Oh, crap! I forgot to vote. I never voted before but now was going to give the Google vote a try. Don't let me forget next week.
From last night I liked Jessica the best, for voice control; her stage presence could have been better.
Some worked the stage well. A few got nervous and pitchy.
I'm looking forward to them all getting the coaching.
-
Last night's performances were, well, not great. We could imagine the judges smacking their foreheads and asking themselves why they had let some of the other contestants go...
What we found very
distracting: split-screen images with Randy Jackson mumbling some inane,
inaudible comments as the contestants took their places on stage.Up
first: Dexter Roberts – one of the ‘Bama Boys… had a good time on stage, but we couldn’t make out the lyrics for most of the song… which was just as well, as most
of it was out of tuneMalaya
Watson – has the energy of a squirrel hopped up on caffeine, but what a sucky voice last night. Big honkin’
mess.Kristen
O’Conner – very pretty girl, out of her element, sounded like a “Junior Miss
Beauty Pageant” number, except for the fleeting seconds when her best voice
came throughBen
Briley – we didn’t mind the Johnny-Cash-On-Stimulant, hyperactive rhythm of “Folsom
Prison Blues”… will be interesting to see how he handles other genresCJ
Harris – Awwwwww, CJ, it would have been wonderful if you had been able to sing
in tune, but that skill seems to be evading you the farther you get into the
competition….MK
Nobilette – Hmmmmm… sometimes it doesn’t matter how good the voice is if the
performance is total “Deer In The Headlights”…Majesty
Rose – first, her wardrobe consultant should be shot. I think I saw that same
outfit on a friend’s great-grandmother. Her performance was good – better, in
fact, than her competitors, and she may have staying power.Jena
Irene – very young, powerful voice, has no idea what she’s singing about. She
can grow.Alex
Preston – Truthfully, I find his awkwardness very painful to watch. The voice
isn’t bad, but his stage moves are more like a fidgeting 5 year old who has to
go potty.Jessica
Meuse – She could lose the pink streak in her hair and I’d like her better. But
I do love her voice. Sounds professional in a sea of amateurs.Emily
Piriz – So young, yet she seems to know the lyrics of every song each
contestant sings. And that voice! Consistently great. I think she may be my new
favorite.Sam
Woolf – Still cute, still underwhelming singer.Caleb
Johnson – “MiniMeatloaf?” Dang, the boy can sing. But every song is starting to
sound alike. Would like to see him branch out of that 70’s/80’s rocker genre
and show us that voice on something else -
LOL, Blessings, I almost mentioned how much I hated Majesty's outfit too but I tried to keep the snark down in the post I just wrote.
Mainly because, along with vocal coaching, we'll see the usual style make-overs. (For some it can't happen quick enough.)
-
LOL Blessings...i love your judging skills
Hi Elimar
I forgot to vote
What is Google vote?
I vote through FaceBook......
-
elimar - What? No snark? However would I write???? Sometimes I watch those performances and just think "There's two hours of my life I'll never get back..." Yes, you're right. I do think we'll see some growth. (ohpleaseohpleaseohplease)
Thanks, Sheila -
-
the Voice has been my favorite the last couple of years. Such incredible talent for such young people! I love the judges, they seem to have such a good time.
-
Blessings, your reviews were spot on. I was very happy Kristin left-she was a wild card-not voted for by anyone by Jennifer Lopez from the looks of things.
-
So many talents in this year's Voice
I'm loving it
-
-
I pegged Emily to go. But seriously, there isn't really a winner among the lot of them in my opinion. The ones I like (Ben, Alex, MK) will never win so it's almost pointless to watch. Except for Keith...that's what keeps me watching
-
Glad that Jena got to stay because she had improved from the week before. She won't make it to the end, but I'd enjoy seeing her for a few more weeks.
Jessica and Caleb seem the most comfortable performing on stage. They remind me of young musicians I know.
Alex and Majesty are kind of quirky. They need to expand their personalities to keep me interested.
There's no blonde-haired, country-singing girl this year. What a stroke of luck for Dexter.
Who can go next? For me it's MK or C. J.
p.s. I meant to write this a few weeks ago. Who is already the biggest WINNER? Keith Urban and his haircut!!! I know you all loved him even back when he had that scraggly mess on is head, but I thought it was a nightmare. His new highlighted 'do with the back short is a thousand times better.
-
Caleb definitely is comfy on stage. I'd like to hear him do some Led Zepplin or Bob Seeger (I know - 2 completely different styles, but I think his voice could do both)
Ordinarily, Jessica is the type of female singer I gravitate too, but I just can't seem to warm up to her.
I really like Alex for some reason. Majesty is OK. The little tuba player doesn't seem to be resonating with America.
Dexter, CJ, can go home sooner than later as far as I'm concerned.
Ben will stay for a while I think.
I think it would be fun for a rocker to win for a change!!! Go Caleb (for now).
Keith can do whatever he wants with his hair. He's crazy cute! Have you seen this? http://www.cmt.com/videos/misc/916021/the-chain-f...I love the camera shot of Nicole Kidman. Her look is "Yeah, he's MINE."
-
Show still in progress, but the judges are spot on tonight so far.
-
Elimar...Actually this is the first night I'm enjoying the show.....
-
Top two tonight: Caleb and Jena. Props to them for choosing songs that showcased the dynamics of their voices.
Majesty and MK and Malaya sang off key.
Loved Jessica's song choice but she was a little ho-hum in the delivery.
CJ (who really does not fit in to the Idol Top Ten Tour group demo this year) was decent tonight, so he won't go yet.
Poor Ben, BAD song choice for him, awful piano playing, like a wedding singer.
I left out three singers, but I have forgotten their performances.
-
I'm with you Caleb and Jena
I might vote tonight
-
The judges gave them high praise also.
I voted last week for the first time ever and just voted tonight.
I don't use all 50 votes per person. Is that wrong? I vote like it is a score. None earned a 50, but some didn't get any from me.
-
Unless you really want them to be this years AI
-
Hi Idol-ers,
I am really enjoying both AI and Voice this season but I am not in synch due to my Monday-Wednesday night classes at work.
That said....I think the Voice is loaded with talent and can't wait for the battles to start. So far, I only saw the 2nd hour of Idol...I got home late. So will go back and watch it on DVR.
I thought the performances were amazing tonight - especially MK, Jena, Alex, and Malaya.
The judges seemed to be blown away tonight...
OK going to look at the first group and those I missed. -
Whaa? No one posting tonight? The Voice was so good too.
-
I like Jessica, Caleb and Jena. I really love the 3 judges this year. Harry is kinda harsh, but he gives the most realistic and honest criticism. (kinda like Simon, but so much funnier!). they keep saying this is the best top group ever---really? I don't think anyone is really a stand out in this group, but I think Caleb may win.

-
elimar, I watched the Voice at the regular time tonight...usually I am working but was off. I have to DVR the show and watch later...but tonight I watched it on time.
I love/hate the battle rounds - everybody has talent but many have to go. I felt bad for the girl up against Sisi...anyone would be blown away by her. It should be a good season...lots of talent there. Not sure who I like best yet...want to see more.
Your favorite?Sheila, are you lurking??
-
I was happy that Biff got a save first thing and wished the girl who battled Sisi could have stayed also. Stevie Jo is one of my early faves. I liked him since Usher turned for him when he sang an Usher song. Usher was the only chair that turned, but I think the others just knew he was signaling that he wanted Usher to coach him otherwise he would have gotten more turns.
-
I'm here and watching mostly listening

Alex, Alex, Alex!
