hi girls.
Liefie, lovely to hear from you, can't wait to hear all about your week with little Em. X
Nihahi, LOVE your beautiful pics. Breathtaking scenery and the little bird with its foot on your hand brought a tear to my eye. X
Saturady morning here, DH off on his long walk, new walking shoes purchased yesterday, hope they don't hurt him. Spent that long in sports shop Edi was glazing over !! Then he bought me a lovely woolen jacket so all forgiven.
Smallest GD here for sleepover tonight so must dash and tidy her room.
Happy Weekend to all x
-
Hi everyone
Morning here and it is supposed to get up to 11 C, yesterday last day of -16 for a good long while I hope
Having a bit of a lazy morning, DH and I got up and made a bacon/eggs breakfast together, now lazing in bed iPads and catching up on the world.
Liefie - so good to hear from you. Can't wait to hear more - I know it will be hard for you to come home tomorrow, your heart has been stolen by this new little granddaughter

Edi - wonderful re: new woolen jacket - that would make up for a lot. Glad you are gradually getting energy back. Sounds like nice sleepover with GD
Nihahi - wonderful pictures, thanks so much for sharing
Morwenna - March 12th will soon be here, counting days off with you
Movie/momof3/Caitlin/Jennie/Trai/ Dakota and everyone else - saying hi
I had a nice coffee with Benny on Thursday - I encouraged her to come back on and give an update - I hope I convinced her - she was feeling a little guilty about just popping in and updating without going back and reading up on all the goings on, told her nonsense, people want to hear from you
Work is a bit of a whirlwind, trying to catch up and keep up, Monday I orientate a new person to our role, helpful in the long run, adds to workload in the short term
I think my cold is almost gone, just a bit of a cough now - so glad about that!
Wishing all a wonderful weekend!
-

Hi Movie, I'm back home. Had to tear myself away from that baby, but it is good to be home with DH. The kids need to be on their own now to do their own thing, and make their own life. Took a lot of photos, and grandpa and I have been taking turns to look at them - lol.
Benny, I'm with Movie. We genuinely miss you! Please come back, and entertain us with your stories again. I always enjoyed reading them.
-
hi ,
working my way through piles of laundry, sun is shining again !! England is in shock.
DH gone off on his walk, he is in heaven, earphones in listening to his music.
Lovely that you are back safe Liefie, you were missed. Pics on F/B really gorgeous.have you a time you can Skype this week ?
Movie, you can have our little fairy's room Full of hearts and butterflies. Window overlooks fields and cattle.
she was a little Angel Saturday night bed by 7 pm then woke me at 6.30am wearing a monster mask from the dressing up box Good job I haven't a weak heart ha ha.
Next to youngest GD visiting after school today with her Mum.
Websister, so glad cold getting better and that you saw Benny.
love to everyone! must go hang out the washing x
-
Edi - I am impressed that you can hang your washing out in March - that's great. I love hanging my laundry outside, but haven't done it this spring yet - although yesterday it was 14 degrees, so the weather looks like it is picking up.
I am still having a lot of pain in my arm and shoulder from my fall - it is impacting on my sleep at nights, having to get up and ice it, and walk around - not much fun, then I go back to bed around 5am, and sleep until 9:30, crazy sleeping schedule! Today I have physio, so hopefully that will help.
Liefie - welcome back to beautiful British Columbia. It must have been hard to leave little Em!! But at least she doesn't live in South Africa, so you will get to see her fairly often. Do you have a Facebook page with some photos on it - would love to see them if you don't mind sharing your Facebook with me. My little grandkids live in Quebec and I only get to see them about 4 times a year and on Skype, but that just isn't the same.
Nihahi - tho photos are incredible - such untouched beauty.
Morwenna - thinking of you, and will be in your pocket for Wednesday.
Websister - glad your cold is finally better.
Have a good day everyone!

Just dropping in to say Hi ladies

I can't believe, today marks my 1 year chemoversary !! 1 year since I took that Cytoxan pill....it has flown!!!
How far I have come in that year makes me ever so greatful and to have had you all by my side I say Thank you xx♡♡xx
I have been busy looking for a new car since DS and I were in an accident. Finally think we have found our new family car 😆
Nihahi, J must admit, I'm just a tad jealous of all your gorgeous pics. They are AMAZING.😊
Love to all. Best get some sleep as its work for me tomorrow
Take care xxxxxx
-
Traii......WT??? ACCIDENT????? You had better be ok, chickee! As for the "date"....yup, you've come a LONG way....sending you hugs for years and years of happy! Come visit sometime....bring your cybermom, edi.....the mountains won't know what hit them!
-
wouldn't that be something - Traii and Edi here and visiting the mountains?!!! I would have to be in on that visit

Traii - good to hear from you - hope DS and you ok? Glad you have found a new family car
Adagio - sounds like you have some sleep to catch up on once the pain eases up, hope that is very soon for you
Liefie - glad you made it home safely, so happy you were able to be there for the new little family
Edi - that would have been quite the shock first thing in the morning - bet GD was very proud of herself

Morwenna - in those pockets with you tomorrow
This is a quick pop in for me - need to get supper going - two full days of work in a row and I am exhausted.
-

Thankyou my dear friends. I'm seeing my hematologist at 9.00 tomorrow, hoping that he will let me come off the warfarin, now I've been anticoagulated for a year! Then my biopsy is at 1pm, so fingers crossed for both please. I know you'll all be there with me, and a friend (my sons M.I.L.) is driving me.
I'm a bit overcome this evening. At chorus tonight I was nominated for the title of "Spirit of 26", which is awarded to somebody in our region (western Canada) who embodies the spirit of Sweet Adelines. It is a great honour even to be nominated. Each chorus can put forward a candidate, and the title will be awarded at our Regional Conference and Competition, in Surrey, BC, in early May.
We give our own nominee the title of "Soul Sister", and I was given a beautiful orchid, and a fabulous chain-link bracelet, featuring our "lips" motif, and made by one of our talented members.
Feeling pretty exhausted now, I'd better turf my kitty off my lap and get me to my bed! xx
-
congrats on the nomination Morwena.
In your pocket too for tomorrow.
Nihahi, DS and I are fine. First thing I did when we crashed was call out to my son, heard his voice
then touched my boobies to see that there was no leakage!!!crazy right..lolPick up new car tomorrow thank goodness. Have family over tonight celebrating my being 36 years young!!
Oh now, could you imagine Cyber mommy Edi & myself joining you gals on the mountain...oh would be bliss xx
-
hi ,
Nihahi/Websister /Traii packing as we speak That trip is on my bucket list. Gosh what fun that would be.to actually meet some of the kindest and most wonderful women in the world would be the icing on the cake.
Traii, Happy Birthday to you, that crash must have been scarey Last night on way to choir I almost hit another car, mis read where they were going and that was bad enough. Have a glorious day with your lovely family and stay safe.
Morwenna, singing to you in your pocket today , sure all will be well ,except for that racket from your pocket. your award so well deserved and really beautiful.((( hugs )))
Liefie, bet you are still gazing at those photos.
Had a lovely phone call yesterday, I have an interview Tuesday for volunteer work at "Headstrong "in my hospital. It is a group of ladies who help with advice on hair loss, wigs, and other head coverings. Bit nervous but here goes.trying to keep busy and DH seems to be more chilled about me getting out and about as he is starting to find things to do in his retirement.
must get going as I have a two tier cake to design and ice. friends daughter qualified as a nurse and they are having a grand ball on Saturday so centre piece needed,
Healing and love coming out to you all.X
-

Shhhhhh. Muah !!! -
Morwenna, my sincere wishes that everything will go fine for you today. Congrats on the nomination, and I do hope you win the title in May. You go girl!
Adagio, I hope your arm and shoulder are getting better. The things we do to ourselves, eh? My back problems come from a fall on the ice about 10 years ago.
Traii, good to hear from you, and that you are all fine after the crash. Happy birthday to you! Enjoy the new car - is that your birthday present? Lol.
Edi, yes, I'm still starstruck, and missing that little baby. Phoning, texting and skype just does not cut it in this case. I want to hold her close. Will try to skype you later today.
Nihahi, enjoy the mountains! Hopefully the weather is playing along, and you are having loads of snow fun.
Dakota, good to hear from you. Busy as always, eh? Hope you and cockroach can work something out.
A good day to everyone

Just checking in:
Just got back from my biopsy. The doctor said the good news was that he was fairly sure it was just scarring or changes related to the treatments, but the bad news was that he was going to biopsy it anyway! He asked me if I had any last words before he started, and I told him "just get on with it!"
I think he was "a bit of a wag" . (very nice guy though), so here I sit, with an icepack down me brassiere, smarting somewhat!

-
hi ,
Flipping heck Morwenna, if they boiled both of us up they couldn't make a whole one LOL.
You with ice pack me with patch on eye after cataract op this afternoon. I look in the mirror and scare myself.
went to local private hospital, very posh. They were so lovely and put me at ease. Had op with local All ok then guess what ? New lens went in crooked !! Surgeon apologises then can't get it out again !!!! She had to cut it in half in my eye and fish it out. OW to say the least then new one goes in.OW again then thank goodness all done.seems I need extra anesthetic next time . Holy sxxt batman.so much for a pain free and simple op sitting here typing using one eye and other one feels like it is full of glass. Please God it eases by the morning.
you will be fine I am sure, they don't usually joke about if they suspect something bad is there. chin up chuck x
Liefie, would have loved a skype but off to bed in a mo, so sore and eye streaming. Maybe tomorrow ?
Going to chill all day.
Dakota, Hope all works out for you.
Gotta run feeling sorry for myself.
-
Morwenna, happy to hear your good news - doc seems to be a jokester. Hope all turns out well which I'm sure it will.
Edi, tomorrow morning I'm going to the gym. You are 9 hours ahead of us now, so it will be after nine in the evening for you by the time I get home. Too late then - you need your rest. That eye will be good in no time, don't worry. DH had both eyes done a few years ago, and was amazed at how well he could see afterward. Maybe Friday will be better for skype, as I will be home all day. Let me know, okay? I will have to put on make-up to skype with you now that you can see so much better - LOL!
-
Edi - you didn't tell us you were having cataract surgery!! Or maybe I missed that post. Sorry you ended up having a complication . I think it is generally a straightforward procedure. Ouch!!! You poor thing - sure hope your eye feels better soon, so that you are able to work on your celebration cake! I have a cataract growing on my right eye, so I know somewhere down the road that I too will have this surgery - your experience makes me not want to hurry the process.
Morwenna - hope all comes back negative for you in terms of the biopsy.
Momof2 - how are things going with you? Starting to feel better I hope. When is the wedding?
-
Hi ,
morning girls! what a night !! Me sobbing convinced I would never see again out of my sore eye. DH was flipping amazing he calmed me down and as he has had eye stuff done made a lot of sense. Came downstairs at 7am took of plastic eye shield and put on specs. Still bit blurred and watering but drops have eased discomfort. DH googled and it seems all normals , look as if I have gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, being waited on hand and foot too. May be a while before it clears but can get on with the cake, luckily iced both yesterday before op so just modelling to do.
Adagio, didn't mention op yesterday as compared to BC seemed like nothing. Please don't be put off I guess I was just unlucky. Everyone else there, no pain no discomfort etc. spoken to sooo many friends who have had it and all say a complete doddle. Now I wish I hadn't spooked you, me and my big mouth .
Liefie, Friday fab for me, after 9pm our time is great will log on then.
Battery going on DH I pad so need to recharge.
Love from Popeye lol x
-
Hi Ladies,
I have been laying low…takes me a week it seems to adjust to DST. I hate the loss of 1 hour.
Edi…so sorry that the procedure did not go smoothly. Just give your eye a little more time; it will get better
Liefie…you are going to have such a great time spoiling little Emily. I would be obsessed with all the cute little outfits and designing her bedroom. My DD does not appreciate my sewing skills. Hopefully your DD is more appreciative of her wonderful and amazing mom.
Adagio… that is one stubborn "bruise". I suppose all you can do at this point is ice it and take motrin or some other anti inflammatory drug. Certainly wish you relief…you have been through enough!!!
Mo…I am so glad that it is scar tissue. Wish the doctors would give you a break with all the testing. Congratulations on your nomination and award. You deserve to win. Let's have a celebration and Edi can make a cake
Trail…glad you are okay from your accident. Our Pruis was totaled in December 2013 by a teenager that crossed the center line. That little car protected us well, but we also had to get a new Pruis.
Well, the wedding is getting closer. I finally found the proper hat, to go with my dress. I figure a hat on top of my wig will totally confuse the annoying SIL who does not know what I have been through. I am just coasting along at this point. I am more concerned about making drapes for Keiko Cottage.
It is Spring break this week at UGA, so DH is home with me He gets to do the taxes
DH was nice enough to make my coffee this AM. But now the cup is empty. You know what that means…time to start the day!!! Yippee doo !
Have a good day to all…
Jenifer

Hi
,Eye improving by the hour phew

Momof glad you are ok
know what you mean about your sewing skills, my lot only want them when they can't repair something themselves. Drapes for cottage sound such a lovely happy thing to be doing.
You will blow them away at the wedding, trip SIL up by "accident " if she annoys you. I whipped wig off and scratched my head in front of someone similar but you better not try that one
.Hope there is a visitors wing on the cottage as you may be over run by the warrior sisters.
Spring seems to have arrived in all her glory here at last. This weekend supposed to be lovely and warm. Saturday is our 45th wedding anniversary.
If I had murdered DH on our wedding day would have been out years ago ha ha. Do tell him that by the way, keeps him on his toes. He is crashing around in the loft right now looking for something, I will get told off when he comes down as it is a tip !! All my fault oops.Fries and eggs sunny side up for dinner as he is cooking. One of my all time favourites.
Hope you all like the warrior picture from Benny she is moving on really well. Owe her such a debt of gratitude for setting up this thread.
Still trying to finish this cake, have to make lots of things related to nursing, should be easy after last year, will post a pic when done if I can.
Love to all X
-
Edi....you sound wonderful....hope the eye settles down quickly.
Thanks for sharing the poster from benny.....so great to hear that she has found her strength again.
I'm posting a few from my getaway...., spring reality for some of us!!! (The latest site update makes it a pain to post photos again for me....sigh.....back to having to first load them onto photobucket...not happy!)
our cabin.....viewed from the backside.....thank goodness there was another way in!!!!!

snowshoe trail.....spring melting has begun.....

ski trail

sometimes it gets cloudy.......

happy times!

snow "bagel"

This is what happens when sticky snow rolls down a hill.

-
Nihahi…The photos look heavenly. Any northern lights activity?
-
WELL......our "north" view was of the giant snowbank....
! There have been reports of some amazing lights lately, but I haven't been up late enough (or early enough...depending on your point of view) to catch them. I hate time changes too.....always throws me for a loop, and screws up my sleep. I especially dislike getting up in the dark again, when we passed that stage a few weeks ago! You're sounding just awesome, jenifer.....I can hear Keiko calling you!!! Hope SIL is a "non-issue" at the wedding.....focus on the fun!
morwenna.....hope you're feeling more comfortable now.....how long a wait do you expect before the path report?
-
My appointment to review my results is not until the 24th. It seems an age away. I don't know if it might be possible to find out sooner .... The imaging centre doc told me the results would be about a week.
Focussing on anything that keeps my mind off it for more than a few minutes is exhausting

-
Mo......that is a long wait.....how can I help?????
-
sneak into netcare, and check out the results for me?
Seriously? Nothing really, but I am planning on calling Drs office ans tell them that if they DO get the results ans CAN see me sooner, I'd sure appreciate it!
-
Nihahi - beautiful pictures; feel like I was there!
Edi - congratulations on your 45th wedding anniversary - hope the eye improves quickly - glad DH is looking after you well
Morwenna - congratulations on the nomination; the bracelet is beautiful. Sorry you are so worried about the biopsy results - glad you are calling and asking if you can be seen sooner if they come back before your appointment. It would be tempting to sneak into Netcare wouldn't it?
Really battling fatigue this week/weekend - my cardiologist appointment is on Thursday a.m. - possibly find some answers there?
Take care, everyone and have a good week - going to call it a night
