Seems to me that just on this stage 3 board there are women in the military life (as a wife or soldier).  Maybe they can have their own forum or thread to discuss these unique concerns?  Ladies? interested?  (haha maybe there is one and I just hang out here and am clueless).   If you want to stay on our stage 3 board, maybe just a pinned thread.

Anythng  in particular you'd like to know?

I'm not currently 'active' military BUT I was 'born' Army/raised Air Force, was Army, and married to Hubby for 19 1/2 of his 20 yrs Navy.  So yeah - I'm 'Military'.   My health care is through VA and I could not ask for better care than I've gotten.

edit added: Why shouldn't I 'stay' on the Stage III Section even IF I didn't want to post about my 'military life'?  I'm Stage IIIc and my entire life has been influenced by being 'military'.

Sorry to post on a stage III forum but if you go to the search bar and type in "military" a bunch of related threads pop up.  Also a 30 year mil spouse, care divided between imaging at the MTF and civilian providers for surgery and chemo/Herceptin.

I'm game, if y'all are for a military stage III thread.  I'm newly diagnosed and stationed at Ft. Benning with my DH and three kids.  I feel a world away from my good friends and family, but the ladies on post have been SO helpful.  I thank my lucky stars I live on post with other military wives always willing to lend a hand.  I'm not too proud to take it right now.  I have another surgery next week for axillary dissection and start chemo in April.  It's been so helpful to scroll through these stories and find humor, survival, perseverance, love, and hope.  I'll  be back often, so keep posting the good stuff!

I'm not military and didn't have a question.  I was just wondering if there was a need for a pinned thread for those that are. Yogamama, good luck with surgery & chemo!

yogamama-  I miss a post that hasa good support system.  I am at a small post that has been very hard to make conne tions. However through our unit and civilian networks we have been taken good care of. We move in the summer to a larger post. It will be nice to have that comfort zone back.  Every place has its good points, but I think after 18 years married to it, I am institutionalized.

Sounds like a great idea to me Bugs.  A BC dx is tough enough, then add in the military and it puts you in more unique circumstances at times.
