Hi ladies.  I bravely decided to move over to the Daily Exercise thread in hopes of being shamed into more frequency!  And boy those ladies do their exercise, but no lie, I'm not doing daily yet.  I am doing much better and just need to up my frequency. Still planning on joining the gym as its still freezing cold here which makes it hard to get out every day.  Of course that requires me to actually stop by the gym one evening after work, but I finally signed up for the cancer survivor yoga class.  My first class is Saturday.Baby steps have turned into big steps.  I wanted to stop in and wish everyone well and say thanks for the encouragement and pushes in the post chemo days.

My exercise today was grocery shopping and another errand. It's the first time I've been out of the house since last —I've had a cold and am just getting over it. It has set me back but not as badly as whatever I had in January. I plan to go for a walk tomorrow, weather allowing.

tarheel - the first time I went I didn't think I could do the whole hour, my hips burned!  Fortunately, that dissipated and I stayed the whole time - it is fun, but it is hard work too!

Good for you, SpecialK! If there's one thing we breast cancer gals know, it's sticking to our goals, despite discomfort or even pain. : - D

My exercise today was a half-mile walk. It's my first one in a week and I decided not to push it since I have a Zometa infusion and a class tonight.

My exercise today was thoroughly scrubbing the bathroom floor. There is a trim strip on my shower pan, which got very dirty while it was being installed and even dirtier afterwards as more remodeling work was going on in the house. A part also got left out under the trim strip, so today the contractor came to put in the missing part, and I cleaned the floor and the trim strip, so the trim would be nice and clean after re-installation. It looks much better now!

    Great work, curveball.

I scrub my tub before the maid comes. Not because I'm OCD, but because they never get it clean enough!

interesting approach to maids, tarheel. :-)

    how did zumba go, Specialk

    Good for you, two hobbies

    Curveball, cleaning is hard work

I've been making it to yoga, pushing myself out the door. It's slowly making a difference. Seeing a palliative care doc Monday to hopefully stave off neuropathy. Never a dull moment

Chemo.......done! Taxol #12 was yesterday. Time to move to the next phase! This morning I used my decadron energy rush to get on my rowing machine and took it fairly easy but did 30 minutes. My knee finally seems to be starting to get better as my blood counts are staying better. I really think that the neutropenia had a real effect on the healing process. Now we just need spring to come.......

    curve - keep it up!

    rhody - yay!

Today's exercise was walking around at the art festival - I also parked at least 1/2 a mile away, so I got some walking in - it is a beautiful day!

    wow. Everyone is moving.

I went to the health club with my friend. Treadmill then weights. No way I would do this if I didn't go with a friend

my exercise today is assembling the new desk chair I bought yesterday (completed, and soooo much more comfortable than the old kitchen chair I had been using) and laundry (in progress, first load about to go into the dryer). If I get real ambitious I might change the sheets on my bed too, and that's another load.

Edited to add: I looked out the window and saw blue overhead, so I decided to walk, but only half a mile since I already had other stuff planned and also didn't trust the rain to hold off more than a short while. The forecast is for rain all week so I decided to get out while I had the chance. I was right not to trust the rain, too. I walked, and then took five or ten minutes to clear debris out of the thingamajig where my downspout comes to ground, and by the time I had done that, it was starting to rain again.

Another break in the rain today made it possible for me to walk 7/10 of a mile. I did another load of wash, too.

curve - very good on the rain-break walk and laundry!  I am about to start laundry myself - I am having surgery on Friday and need to get all caught up with housework and laundry, grocery shopping, etc., before I am restricted.  I am going to walk this evening with a very good friend over at her house - she lives in a beautiful neighborhood next to two large horse ranches - so it is always nice to walk there.  We will go out to dinner afterward as both our husbands are busy tonight (hers is an airline pilot and always flying around somewhere, mine will be at the gym) so we will have a nice chance to catch up.

gritgirl - look at you with the treadmill and weights - you go!

    all the walking sounds lovely.

It is snowy here and cold. Uck. I was very low activity for several days.

Now that I'm back at work, walking more. Tonight is yoga. Pushing myself out the door.

gritgirl - excellent that you are going to yoga.  Tonight is Zumba but I will miss it to walk and have dinner with my friend.  I found some Zumba videos online so have considered Zumba-ing here at home by myself.  Still deciding ...

gritgirl - my daughter has an unused wii that is collecting dust.  She made the move to xbox, so the poor wii is a paperweight.  I should use it for Zumba!  She also has an old playstation.  I was just reading somewhere that very old Nintendo 64 games are bank on ebay - they are collectors items!  You know I have that stuff stashed in a closet in my house someplace, right?

hey SpecialK sell me your Wii. I have my GuitarHero guitars and games shoved in a closet. I used to play with my son a couple years ago until he sold his. Our apt building was going to install a Wii in our theater room. Then someone stole it so they don't plan to replace it. I would really love to have a Wii back not for exercise, just exercising my fingers. Guess that counts for something. Haha

Congrats to all for accomplishing something despite gray skies and frigid temps.

you go too gritgirl. When it's really cold I just stay inside, and I think it's almost never as cold here as where you are.

Had a nice walk at my friend's house - then we went out for a healthy dinner.  It was good to catch up with her.

tarheel - between gritgirl and I we will get you that wii!  I will discuss it with my DD who is on her way home as I type from the Keys.

ginger and curve - doing great!
