Live linking. Terrible news but on the other hand this will make it easier for me to avoid sulphite-induced allergies by not drinking.

So do we all use the CYP2E1 to process alcohol? Does this have the variant alleles like the cyp2d6?

It would be awesome if this link could be mitigated and squelch a possible BC in the making....but I have to wonder why so many abstainers still get breast cancer and many imbibers do not.  Speculation would lead me to think there are alleles.

Of course, we here know that no one knows what causes breast cancer and that this might be a small area where, if possible, it could be reduced.  Not sure that will affect huge numbers of people, but alcohol consumption has been going up, so maybe.

Fallleaves, in my recent activity related to reading on the 2d6, 2c9, 2c19, 3a4, 3a5, i decided to see what was related to alcohol consumption. Found an abstract discussing 2E1. I appreciate that you've brought this here for viewing. What's they availibility of being tested for it? sassy

Hi Sassy, I'm not sure what the availability  of testing is...I was actually going to ask YOU that!
