Still waiting...

Not what I expected from the appointments yesterday. Biopsed area on left breast and axillary lymph node under right arm. MRI showed the mass in my right breast to be larger than the mammo showed. Not a chance at lumpectomy unless I do chemo to shrink it first. More tests ordered - PET/CT scan next week and brain MRI on the 13th. Also doing the genetic testing.  Can't get an appt with the oncologist till the 25th. Can't decide on treatment plan until I have all test results...waiting again.

Lovemysons, I am so sorry to see that you are still waiting. It is just so awful, not knowing exactly what is happening and there are more tests to wait for.

I wish you all the very best, and hope it all comes together quickly for you.

It's a bit quiet here on the weekend, but I am sure there will be others around who will give you support and advice if you need it. Try to do things that you enjoy while you wait, and please let us know how you're doing.

Radiologist called yesterday and the left breast area is benign but the right axillary lymph has a tumor.  They moved up my oncology appt to Tuesday, March 4.  They are thinking I will need chemo prior to surgery now that there is node involvement.  Praying the scan & MRI show no other cancer.

I'm sure you're glad to be done with the waiting for results part, but I'm sorry your node was positive.  The first few weeks after diagnosis can be crazy with the extra scans/MRIs.
