Comparing Amoena and Anita Prosthesis
Hi, I have been using Amoena prosthesis for many years. I saw a good buy online for a similar looking Anita prosthesis(triangle). Anyone know if these are sized and shaped similarly? If so, are they also relatively interchangeable in bras and swimsuits? Thanks.

Hi DDD, I haven't tried the Anita Prosthesis, but I have quite a collection of different types of Foobs and Prosthesis. My preference is for Amoena forms, but I have bought a few different types online by following their fitting directions. The sizes are usually bra size related so it is reasonably easy to get a good fit. The other way is to find a local supplier where you can actually try on the style you are wanting to buy.
I have bought different types of forms for different bras and camisoles. I like the foam light weight for wearing in sports bras or camisoles, and I have a clear silicone Amoena for swimming, and there is the Micro bead forms for light weight situations or for swimming.

All of my pros. have been from American Breast Care. I have no complaints at all with them - in fact 'love; them. I got them through a Certified Fitter and she did order in several for me to try (I'm 'smaller' so I'm told and they don't keep 'smaller' on hand). Right now, I'm waiting for the new bras to come in for me to try (again they don't keep 'smaller' on hand) and pick the ones I want - our weather is, even for us here, bad and they are 'somewhere' in shipment. The ABC was by far the best match. It is great for me for all wear. IF I did a lot of swimming in highly chlorinated pools, I might get another one just for chlorinated pools but I don't - I'm in lakes/creeks more often - though not often.

To be more straightforward, How does a size 3 amoena triangle compare to a size 3 anita triangle? There are no fitters where I live, I do not have insurance that covers prosthesis, and must rely on help from this list and other internet sources. Thus far I have had good results. But now I have a question for those who have compared the amoena and anita forms. Thank you! I guess I should add that I have been wearing prosthesis for 8 years.

I have also been wearing a prosthetic for years-close to 8 years now too. I have wondered about the Anita forms since I have mostly used Amoena . I would love to know how they compare. I used to buy Anita bras but the Amoena form that I currently have does not seem to work with the Anita bras (but I wish it did). Looking forward to hearing if others have experience with this. My fitter is no longer in business so it has become challenging for me to find the right fit.

I have the Anita Tritex 1055X in both size 2 and 3. That's the one with a microfiber backing. Sometimes I wear the Anita forms in a regular bra, directly against my skin (I find the fabric very skin-friendly), but they work equally well in a pocketed bra. They are very soft, softer than the various Amoena forms I've tried. My DH likes them the best. And they have a nice little nipple protrusion, more pronounced than the Amoena, which I like. Regarding sizes, my size 2s are quite small and lightweight, though they're bigger than the Amoena size 2 in the Climate form (the Climate form has been discontinued, though you can still find it online). However, there's quite a step up with the Anita size 3 from the 2. The size 3s seem to me more than a single size larger and also they're noticeably heavier. They look great, however.
I also have the Amoena climate forms and the Energy forms. It's my experience with Amoena that their forms vary a bit in size, too, depending on style. For example, I once tried an Amoena Natura in a size 3 and it was much bigger than my Amoena Climate in a size 3. I think I had ordered the Natura model that's for a full shape, rather than average. Had to send it back.
So, bottom line, I think even within companies the sizing can vary. I haven't tried other Anita forms, so I don't know how they run, and I don't know how much bigger Anita Tritex size 4 is than a size 3, and so on. If you order from online companies like MetroMedical, you can easily exchange the forms, though you may have to pay shipping at least one way.
The Anita forms generally seem less expensive than Amoena or ABC, so are appealing in that way. I've had my Anita size 2s for about six years. I don't wear them all the time (these days I mostly wear foam forms during the day and save the silicone for evenings out), but they are in perfect condition. The most huggable forms I own.
Hope this helps.
