Mine was 1977
By accident i figured out how to order prints from CVS from the computer uploading pictures or even from FB
I n my own comfortable house...This is gonna be a big project so many wedding pictures to choose but I will do it
I can choose the size I want for each picture
I know I'm behind of everything...this existed years ago but I had absolutely no idea how it was possible
At my old age learning new things I'm very happy now
Good Night TOL

I am a lot older then you ladies and I had my first in 1957...that was the heatwave year.......another in 1958, and another in 1959,,,,,,,,,LOL..........then 63, 65, 69...........then I learned how to read a calendar and do Math without using my fingers..............LOL
-
Too funny, Ducky!
I hardly ever iron anymore, probably should do a bit more.
I'm boring tonight. Feeling better but brain fog and fatigue remain.
Careful driving tonight, Joan.

Today was sunny, 60, and gorgeous - I wore my sunglasses!! Just had facetime with babies, makes it worse for my DH, but better for me. She had a meltdown when it was time to hang up.
Today, I got all caught up on paperwork. I don't know which is worse, paperwork or laundry. Tomorrow, we head to the cabin for the weekend and i am ready for some winery time with friends. Sometimes I whine while drinking wine at the winery - say that three times fast
(((TOL)))
-
I love paperwork....I should've been an Accounter in my young life
Diane...that will be my future with my grandchildren...
It must be bittersweet
glad you are going away to whine with the wine lol

Nite all
-
Mine was July 19, 1957 and it was brutal.......the day I delivered it was 98 degrees, and 2 days later 102........would love that weather right now..........LOL
-
My baby is 38 and due June 10th with my first grandbaby. I was 24 went I had her.

Deb.........I am waiting for my 4th great-grandaughter due in April.....congrats to you.......your gonna love it........I have 18 grandchildren.....this was my grandson's wedding, 9 of my family could not make it, but this is most of them...this was in Chicago this past April......
-
It's even cold here in DC...that's not normal. Day 1 with the active grandsons went well. Everyone asleep although an hour late...DD calling a lot...I have a huge mess of belated Christmas gifts to pick up in the living room then I can go to bed. Who knows when the first will wake up?
Diane, how sweet that you got face time...what a special time you must have had to make your grandaughter feel sad when you have to end your calls. I just had one night here of tucking in these big boys and my heart is melting for them...knowing they will be small for such a short time. The little guy, who is totally mama's boy, was great with me...but would not even lie down until I got back in the room. Then lights out and he was asleep in minutes. He asks so little....
They loved their gifts and tomorrow they get each get birthday gifts for the BDs we missed in December. We will take them out all day...then Sunday heading home early to beat the flakes. Their nanny will come to stay until DD gets home. DD and even her DH keep thanking me over and over....they have never left them with me...I think I may be getting called on again soon.
All my DDs work very hard and are good moms...so I like to give them a break. It's tiring though.
(yawn)
To the new grammies to be, this is a special role. But I think you already know that!
Big hugs and stay warm!
-
It is such a different experience - I can't imagine not enjoying being a grandmother. We are total suckers for them, every utterance is a delight. Maybe it gets hold after a while? But when she mimics me, I can't stop laughing and crying at the same time. Went to the winery, had a glass of wine and some time with friends but Mimi Blanco is now home in her fleece pj's reading about the huge storm that is going to likely prevent us from getting home for a few days.
-
Rain............love the Grands..............birthday party for my twin Great Grandaughters tonight.........they will be 3 years old.......the one on the left is the one with the disability....that is Grayson....some will remember her story.......
-
Oh they are so sweet looking!
Meanwhile, we are getting snowed in at the cabin and I am totally grossed out by a large quantity of teeny weeny black bugs in the bathroom. I just stuck some to a bandaid and had DH go to the hardware store to see if they know what they are. He reminds me that entomologists will likely not be employed at Ace. Still think it's worth a shot. I want to go home and hope I don't bring any with me!
-
wow bugs in the bathroom and snow, lol
Happy Saturday!!
-
How are you feeling Sandy?
They are "winter" ants - considerably smaller and differently shaped than "normal" ants......I don't feel as creeped out now.....
Joan - Sounds like a perfect visit! Get home safely.
-
Not sure if you've seen this before, but my friend recently posted it on FB.
LOL Ducky - wanting to smack your husband because it was his clothes you were ironing when you burned yourself. That would be so me. I resent my family when I iron their clothes just ironing them - I don't even have to burn myself to be annoyed. So much ironing. I haven't been doing it. Kind of wanted DH to see how much time it takes to iron it all. Now he just has a mound of his clothes on the futon in the room over the garage and irons as he needs things... I don't know how people get away without ironing. I can't get the clothes out of the dryer fast enough - some of them are wrinkled no matter what. Some of them look wrinkled even AFTER I iron them. I am not domestically inclined.
Worked a crapload of hours this week (for me) on my feet. (Ow, my aching feet!) I worked about 12 hrs 2 days and 11 hrs 1 day and between 5 and 8 hrs on a couple other days... People were sick and I covered for them and for some reason it was even crazier than usual - behind every day. Caught up today though. At least the paycheck will be good (relatively speaking considering my unimpressive wage.) A guy who works in the front of the store didn't realize we need to be licensed to work in the pharmacy. I said yeah - we need to PAY to work here! I have to work 8 hours to net the $50 I need to spend to renew my license.
Well, my son got into UConn - branch - even though he applied only to the main campus. He doesn't want to go there though. I wish he could go there, but he would have to go to the branch anyway - doesn't want to schlep to the main campus for marching band the way DD did and would miss out on campus life which I think he really needs after a crappy experience in this town's school system. So as much as I would like for him to go to the same school as DD and our alma mater and be in the band DD is in and that I was in...a lot of the professors SUCK and he is not the best student so it looks like he will go to the other school. Interesting that he got into UConn though. My friend's daughter graduated from UConn several years ago and then got her master's in social work and said that legacy is important at UConn. I was thinking since we don't give much of anything to UConn that legacy wouldn't matter in our case because we aren't big contributors, so even though DH and I both went there, I didn't think that would help our kids get in, but maybe it does matter and it did help them get into the branch. Since DD is having trouble, I thought for sure they wouldn't accept DS, but they did... curious.
So happy for you grandmas and grandmas-to-be. I'm still traumatized from parenting my own kids. I'm not ready for grandchildren...Plus, in my own mind, I'm still 16, so the thought of being a grandmother doesn't compute.
((((((((TOL)))))))
-
Welcome back Chris
We missed your posts......
Is DD home or she stays in the campus?
Believe me when they were that age I wasn't looking for grand-motherhood
I love living alone and Appreciate every minute of it
I also love my DD's but not under the same roof
-
Christ............I still iron.............your right things have to be ironed......my daughter still irons her kids clothes........and the other girls whose children are married and gone have taught their boys and girls that, that is just the way things are done..............but that burn did hurt years ago........
Hope your son finds the school he really wants.......being happy is important.........hugs
-
Chris - I barely ever iron! At $1 each, I am happy to send a few shirts to the dry cleaner. I really only wear jeans and long sleeve tshirts or sweaters. I am fairly good at getting things out of the drier, but I work from home. I use Dryel sometimes for my sweaters.
Does the other school offer your son an on-campus living experience? As I understand it, legacy is legacy with or without major donations. People support their alma maters in ways that sometimes don't include money, like goodwill.
When my kids were 24 or 25, I believe I entered my tween years - the ones where I didn't have as much parenting to do but was not ready to be a grandmother. DS was 31 when the first GD was born and by then, I was ready. I was not ready for a second one but we don't get to control those things
So I had 6 tween years to adjust.
We had a fun weekend, the winery Friday night, a house party Saturday night. In between, we finished up a puzzle and killed ants. There was 3.5 feet of snow on the ground when we got to the cabin, six more inches on Saturday late. Forecast was for days and days of more heavy snow, ice, and freezing rain. We had two cars and so I jumped out of bed, had a cup of coffee and hit the road with the dog at 8:30 a.m. By the time I went over the pass, it was pretty rough driving so I called DH and told him to get those girls out of bed and head home. The pass is always the hard part.
I wanted to stop at Costco but by the time I hit the heavy rain, but no snow area, my neck was so tight and I had a killer headache from the intense driving. Came home, took a 45 minute nap with one of those microwave hot packs under my neck. Then, for some reason, I got the urge to cook a nice meal to watch with the Academy Awards. Petrale Sole with Lemon Butter, Asparagus with Lemon Brioche Crumbs, and Sweet Potatoes. Unfortunately, when at the store, I noticed the Girl Scouts outside the other door with their tempting cookies. We just ate a box. Not good.
Finally, they have finished up the show! Time to crawl in with my book....
Night all!

Hi,
Where did my post go....I wrote it, it disappeared -- page and all --
Just wishing everyone who will be in snow ice or rain a safe few days.
Diane, sorry you are dealing with ants....I don't like things that are out of our control - and ants are one of them. Be careful getting back home.
Ducky, so nice to see your GGds growing so sweetly.
Sandy, I hope you are feeling OK this week end. Any results yet from the MO? Saying prayers that you will see some good results and get a chemo break.
Chris, glad to hear your DS has college choices....I hope he chooses wisely and considers the environment that will help him succeed.
Well, we made it back from DC with little traffic and no bad weather.
We will be spared much snow....not sure about Ducky, Sandy. Will you get the snow piles?Off to bed...getting up in 6.5 hours.
-
Good Night all

Ducky - so happy to see her sitting up successfully! Progress is good.
Sheila - it is an application. You can google Skype and then download it for free, you won't need the pay version. I bet your daughter can help you with that.
Sandy - thinking of you.
Joan - glad you got back without troubles. I'm so glad I left when I did - the pass closed due to avalanches last night and is still closed.
Chris - hope you are not ironing
