Thinking Out Loud.....

You got that right Chris - the CRAP mothers have to deal with.  Couldn't go to cabin because DIL felt sick but then went out drinking with a friend last night.  Couldn't have a friend/photographer come because DIL was in pain and then went to movies.  Shut my mouth throughout and was thanked for my patience by DS.  But tonight, she spoke very harshly and hurt my DD and I said I wasn't going to let things fly anymore, right?  So I didn't.  I told her in front of DH and DS that "in the interest of honesty she had spoken hurtfully".  She tried to justify and I didn't allow it, but stayed calm and collected.  Thank you to my one glass of red wine.  DS went to speak privately with DIL and they then went to speak with DD, DS offered a hug and she refused, in fact she told them to get out, she didn't want to talk with them.  DS comes to me privately, clearly upset - I reminded him that DIL had caused a good deal of pain and for healing to happen she could not speak harshly, that what DD needed was hugs and love and for him to remember that her disabilities leave her forever at 12.  I then went to DD and told her that it's not okay to refuse to talk.  I was very proud of DD who came out on her own about 20 minutes later, apologized for her refusal to communicate and then told DIL that she should try to say things more nicely.  DS went and hugged his sister and told her he loved her.  Miracle was when DIL acknowledged that her delivery was not ideal and hugged DD.  Pfewwww!  They are now out on a date and leaving tomorrow mid-afternoon.It's been hard some of the time but I am very grateful for my DS and DD's behaviors and desire for all to be well. Actually, I am slightly encouraged that DIL behaved as she did in the end and so I told her I appreciated it, that it was important that she be able to do so.  And I hugged her which was not reciprocated. Okay sorry to lay that all on you but you all know how anxious I have been.  Wouldn't trade any of it for the joy of my granddaughters.  Though #1 much prefers her Papa to me this visit.  These things happen, my turn next time.

Chris, that is exactly how I reacted.  Other than, DH didn't say I looked beautiful so I said,"I'm beautiful, of course I am beautiful, I'm a princess and I have a tiara!"  We are huge Big Bang fans, that's why he found the tiara for me.

DlL called me last week to tell me that she is blessed to have married my son and that she has his family who are not off the wall crazy. And...Thank you.  Her parents had just left after a three day visit.  It made me happy, thankful, and yet it broke my heart that she must be going through something rough with her family.  There is hope for these young ladies to grow up.

They are both so adorable but Shelby looks very busy and Holly (sp) looks much calmer

Why the pictures are dark and blueish was that one of the things on her list that no clear pictures?

Beautiful spring day.....did some food shopping air felt so good

DD and DSIL came over did their wash...I don't have a washing machine but the building has and it's very affordable so they do their wash here...It's funny sometimes it takes 3 of us to finish the complete wash...I'm the folding lady

SIL feels bad but I told him he is also my family like a son to me

He treats my daughter with such a loving way and she knows it

God Bless both my SIL's

I didn't have a happy life so watching both of them happy brings tears to my eyes and makes me believe that not all men are alike

Time to fold...wash the dishes...take a shower and be ready for Olympic closing night

I'm good Sandy........hope tomorrow is kind to you...........back to the friggin cold weather again........I am so sick of this.........went to Shoprite yesterday and picked up what I need to get me through till the next shot of snow..............wonder if spring will ever come.........hugs.

LOL........I like Shoprite just for the prepared meals..............their soups are heavenly......I have tried everyone but the "crab soup'...................

Also if you ever get their......try the little pies that are in front of the sandwich, and pizza section in the food court.....they are great......especially if you don't want a big pie.........also try there maple glaze donuts ......nuke for a few seconds and you would  swear it was Krispy Kreme.......and so much cheaper......the other day they were $1.99 a dozen.

Love the store.........hate their stinkin parking lot.......you could get killed just looking for a spot.....lol

Received a wonderful message from DS, expressing love and appreciation.  Grateful for that today.

Today is our 34th anniversary.  More than half my life with this man - some not so good, some wonderful.  And that's pretty normal I think.

Now to planning FIL's 90th birthday celebration, perfect thing to do while prone.

I ironed my belly when I was pregnant

How can i convince myself to get up...take a shower and make dinner?

Lack of energy and very lazy today

Rain....when I was pregnant with my first I was huge in the front....I ironed everything....hankies, the tops of my sheet, boxer shorts......etc.....my mother-in law use to iron sitting down...........I can't do anything sitting down....peeling potatoes, chopping things....just can''t do it.

Well my son was born in july, and I had 1 week left to go....we were in a 3 weeks heatwave, and the temp was 98....I was standing ironing in a non-air conditioned apt, and could stand no longer........................my feet looked like 2 full size hams, and I could only get my feet 1/2 way in my shoes..................I decided to sit down and try to iron what was left........

I got a stool from the kitchen, sat on it beside the ironing board and proceeded to iron...............I have always had a habit of pressing hard down on the iron, because back then we would sprinkle everything before we would iron it...........

Remember the iron board are wide at the back, and narrow at the front.....well i was moving along at a good pace pressing down nice and hard wanting to get done.....................I did fine, until I went zooming down the board, and ran out of ironing board........ironed right off the end, and right down on my thigh which was on the stool............

Wanted to smack myself for even attempting to do it..........wanted to beat the shit out of my mother-in-law for even suggesting I try it.............and my husband for wearing the clothes I was ironing.......lol

When I was delivering my son I heard the Dr. say..........what is that on her thigh.......it looks like the shape of the bottom of an iron.......steam holes and all................at that point I wanted to kick him in the face since that was the closest thing to my foot................true story.............LOL

Hi FK...i also use my bed or the kitchen counter if I really need an emergency ironing

Joan...I pushed myself and got up took a shower made dinner straighten the kitchen

Will go down to 9 degree tonight 

Monday another storm...we are so use to it it's no longer breaking news

Ducky what year was that...my DD was also born in July with heat wave close to 100 degree..I'm wondering if it was the same summer
