Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Walked for 30 minutes today. Very brisk out and winter is starting to wear out its welcome but I did it.
Ruth love the poster.
-
Walked to work yesterday - 35 minutes.
Also lots of laughing at Ruth's cartoon - LOVE IT.
AnnieLane - you sound like you are doing a good job with the running. It amazes me how there is a right way of doing everything and you have to understand the exercise and your body in order not to get injured.
-
Hooping today and lunch with the BCO group. Such a fun time.
-
Good morning all, I dug out that free pedometer from last summer's walk, now need to calibrate it so I can start logging miles walked again. Just some gentle yoga yesterday but lots of Scrub & Sculpt. Been shopping for a new bedroom set for mom, she moves up here in a month! Ruth, love the poster - I (re)start today! ♥ to all
-
Cheryl and Ann good for you wonderful women to meet up, Annie, you are doing great and Misswim, what a fun weekend. Claire, hope the move went well. Badger, how old is your mother? Beautiful, stunning sunny early spring day that I'm viewing out the window here in the kitchen sipping on a mixed berry protein shake.
Just got in from a 11.55k run and feeling good.
-
Annie - great that you're getting expert advice from your DH on the running. I just started running a couple of years ago - the long time members of this thread will remember how I started - I was originally a walker, and loved walking through my neighborhood. I started by running on the sidewalk from one driveway to the next, then walking for two driveways. I gradually increased from there. I also never run two days in a row - I think that makes a big difference.
Claire - hope the move went well. Ruth - LOL on the poster - I may use that with my fitness challenge participants!
I ended up with 16 people on my work fitness challenge. Our marketing team pitched in and donated pedometers, water bottles, and Clif bar samples, all in a nice reusable grocery bag as a goodie bag for each participant. I need to put those bags together today and get them distributed.
Finally some nice weather this weekend! Did a nice 5 mile run in the park yesterday - saw bluebirds, cardinals, and one meadow seemed covered with robins! Drove up to the cabin just to check on it since we haven't been there in so long - still 8" of snow/ice so we couldn't get up the driveway, but we brought our boots so it was a 20 minutes trudge up and over the mountain to the cabin. There were tons of deer tracks all over the driveway - it looked like a deer freeway. The cabin was fine - snug and dry. Enjoyed being there for a bit, then did our 20 minute trudge back down the mountain. Ended the evening by taking Mikey for a nice long walk and heard three different barred owls hooting at each other, including one right over our heads. We finally spotted his silhouette in the last of the evening light - he was HUGE. We watched a bit then he suddenly spread his wings and flew off silently. Magnificent.

Today's weather report
Clear

-28°C
Feels like -38 SOBBBBBBBB!!!!!!!!!

-
Yikes Nihahi - I had to google a conversion to Farenheit - that's -18F!!! They say the polar vortex is heading out way again this week - so TIRED of this COLD!!!!!!! (I don't want to use the little crying icon as I'm afraid the tears would freeze!)
-
Nihahi, I called my friend in Arizona & told her I'd be on the next plane back & that I was bringing a bunch of people with me. She laughed.......she thought I was KIDDING!

-
Nice goody bag and reads that the challenge is up and flying Mary!
Body balance this afternoon and freestyle step tonight.
-
We had balmy temps in the 50's yesterday, so hubby and I went for a hike in the woods near our house. Hardest part was getting down our icy driveway! There was still a fair bit of snow in the woods, but with such warm temps it didn't matter if your feet got wet, and it mad for some challenging walking too - feeling it today! So with the help of this lovely hike I finally made it to 10k steps. Now to keep it up - went for a walk at lunch (much colder today) and I'm up to 7500. Got my gym bag in the car, so I am finally going to go to the new gym after work and walk on the treadmill. I actually got a call from the gym this afternoon setting up my introductory training session, so that is scheduled for Wednesday. Also squeezed in some classical stretch this morning. I think I am finally back on track with exercise, now to get the eating under control.
-
Inspired: Quick thinking about using your phone. Very scary what happened!
Cheryl and Ann: it's great that you got to meet each other!
Nats: Love your description of your run in the park. Also, so glad the owl didn't grab Mikey!
nihahi: BRRR!
Pat: Doing great on your steps!
Good evening all. Beautiful sunny day here today with highs in the low 60s. Dh and I did about 2 hours of yard work. Then I power walked/jogged at the park. I miss the Olympics - don't know what to do tonight!
-
Lilacblue, love the new picture.. So pretty.
Pat01, hope you love the new gym and way to go on getting back on track. I am with you on the eating issue....
Wonderland, me too on the Olympics. Almost forgot how crappy regular programming is...LOL
At the gym tonight, I did 30 minutes on the Elliptical plus 30 minutes circuit training with weights. Working on my Michelle Obama arms for tank top season....tee hee...
-
Great picture, Lilac!
Yoga this morning & Zumba tonight.
Instead of Arizona, what do you say that we go to New Zealand instead? It looks like there would be enough umbrellas for all of us!

-
Walked the dogs with DH and went to the gym for a full body workout on the weight machines.
-
Claire hope the move went smoothly. Gorgeous new picture LB. Pat hope you liked the new gym. Ruth I wanna go to NZ too and I don't even need to escape the cold and snow Mary even in suburbia there is beautiful wildlife all around, Owls really magnificent.
Sh'bam class today but my foot was really playing up, so it was only a half asses effort, grumble grrrrrr
-
Mary I love seeing owls too, what a treat. Lilac Blue, I like your new picture.
Hooping and weights today. Well actually it was body weight squats and pushups. I was doing incline pushups on the stair railing and I just moved to knee pushups on the ground. I swear it wasn't so long ago I could do about eight nose to ground knee pushups, now I can't even do one! Oh well it's all about improving right?
-
Nose to ground? I would probably end up breaking my nose. Will try it later though.
New release of BodyJam at the gym. Some complicated stuff in there.
-
Went for my one mile run before work and will walk the dogs at lunch or after work.
-
Ooooo, Ruth - when's the next flight to New Zealand????????
-
Did go to the gym yesterday. 11k steps for yesterday! The treadmills are different than the old gym, had trouble trying to set them up, plus I never did figure out how to listen to tv while walking. New sneakers blistered my heel, so it's back to the old ones for a while. Tomorrow I have hour long introduction to gym, so will try to get all my questions answered.
-
Hi Ladies....back in action. Lots of "lift and sculpt". All went just fine, but still a ton of unpacking/rearranging to do. My new duvet cover looks fab, and what's inside is just heavenly (Hungarian goose down comforter I got for a song on eBay).
I went out for a "short walk" last night and got turned around so did something like 5 miles. This was in the rain with street lights. For some reason, I was the only one walking. Nothing like this experience to make you grateful for a home!
I don't have my view, but I can see the early morning tinge of the clouds, and trees. Gorgeous.
I THINK I still have my friends post move.
One thing funny with my new place. The distance between rooms is something like 2x what it was in my old place. So extra walking just doing the basics. No wonder I had to get out and walk.
Saturday is the bus trip to Vancouver BC to see my friend consecrated as Bishop in the Anglican Church of Canada. So not the only one making a major life change. First time there not on a bicycle.
One thing I am loving about my new place is an open work area. Always felt hemmed in before. Nice to have the light and space.
Will let you know how a short commute goes. I know a lot more traffic. But it will be SHORT. - Claire
-
Hi Claire - Good luck in your new home. I know what you mean about the distance between rooms! I once moved from a small apartment to a large apartment - with children at opposite ends.
They have been forbidden from sending me text messages if I am home but since I am now being treated nicely by everyone I am allowed to send them text messages if I am too tired to walk all the way to their rooms.
I live in a small city of about 80,000 people and the municipality is now doing road works in such a way that I can't walk to work anymore.
Yesterday I found my way blocked and had to climb over a concrete barrier to cross a main road! Not something I am going to repeat anytime soon.
So today I road my bike - and I did 10kms in 30 minutes. (Previously I could do 9kms in that time).
I also did 5 minutes of upper body exercises - and realized my arm and back muscles are mush. But at least I have started using them.
Ruth - I keep thinking about your cartoon - TODAY IS MONDAY - and laughing.
-
Glad you got the major move done AND still kept your helper friends, Claire. I would think that you will be in for an impressive ceremony in Vancouver!
Went to my Core & Pilates classes. We have a new teacher in Core, whose style is totally different from the previous teacher (whom we all loved). I am not sure how that is going to work out........I know you have to give it time, but hopefully she will be open to suggestions & willing to adjust things a little, anyways.
-
I'll bet you still have friends Claire and good to read you are happy with your new home. Steppin Pat WTG! Thanks for the positive response to my new photo.
Body balance and yoga at the gym today.

Cheryl: Hope you continue to rest your foot and that each day it gets better.
Lilac: You're gorgeous!
Claire: Have fun getting settled in your new apartment.
Ruth: Too cute and funny and oh so true!
Another pretty day. Still sweating from my power walk/jog at the park.
-
Can't wait to see pictures of the new place Claire. Hope you are all settled in soon. Cheryl, hope the foot feels like dancing soon too!
Mary, did you inquire about the next flight to NZ while watching it snow this morning????
Keep up the good work Pat01... Hope the new teacher gets up to speed Ruth.
Went to the gym tonight for 30 minutes run/walk on the treadmill plus 30 minutes circuit training. Ready for a nice hot bubble bath and jammies....
-
Yesterday did one hour of upper and lower body weights at gym. Today did 20 mins stat bike and 50 mins treadmill. Thanks VOICES.
-
Odie and Wonderland even with a bum foot nothing stops me from dancing, music makes me happy Ruth the instructor really does make all the difference but I'd talk to her and get to know her and tell her what you gals all like. Good to see you Patoo and that's a pretty darned good regime btw, how's your hip?
Went to physical therapy today for my sciatica, I was expecting a nice massage but alas no it was all about pressure points and he made me do sit ups till my lower abdominal muscles fatigued Body Step class tonight.
