after biopsy
I have biopsy in 2 places in one breast. 2 weeks later diagnosis one is OK and another is DCIS. All bruises and swelling are gone but the in one diagnosed as DCIS I have big lump and pain. Is it possible that it is growing and become non in situ. I will see a doctor only in one week and no idea how long I will wait for surgery. can it change from DCIS to something more danger?

it's probably a seroma or hematoma. Pretty unlikely DCIS would grow dramatically in a week or two.

Hi Brz- After my biopsy I had a lump and pain for quite awhile, it was really sore. DCIS can change and I am no doctor but I don't think within a week or two it could change to something you can feel. Take deep breaths for the next week, I know its a horrible time but you will get though it. Try not to let your mind go "there".
take care of you this next week, your appointment will be here quickly.

I think it is pretty normal to have a lump after a Biopsy. I had DCIS too, and I had a sore lump after my Biopsy, but it wasn't related to the DCIS, which couldn't be felt.
Take it easy, you'll have answers in a week. Hugs for now! I know it's hard.

I'm very grateful for support. Any idea how to share this (dcis grade 2/3) with my kids (13 and 17). I postponed for later ...so I can see happy faces...., means so much to me, but I have to do it before surgery.
Few years ago I had thyroid cancer...and I remember this troubled eyes but they were younger.

I had hope that for DCIS stage 0 mastectomy is not necessary???? I was wrong.

HI bacha- sorry you have to go through all of this waiting and stress. Are you docs suggesting a mastectomy based on your pathology? I was not clear exactly what your post meant. Many on these boards will be able to share their stories of mastectomy for DCIS and recovery etc.
I think what I would do is once you have all your facts and details I would sit your kids down and just tell them the truth in your own words. Kids are very observant and I would bet they know "something" is going on and what they might imagine can be worse than what really is. They know you had cancer before which was really scary and this is scary too but you will get through it together as a family.
My daughter who is 25 was living with me when I had my surgery- she was anxious and wanted to know all the details while she was so much help and support to me and just her being here when I was going through treatment (I work away from my hometown) made things so much more bearable when my husband was not here.
