I was diagnosed February 12. 2014. A day before my grandson was borned, in the beginning it was terrifying just having a brother die from this disease 4yrs ago was very scary,  thought about  everything including death,, i was so stressed out n full of fear i couldn't sleep some nights r eat. I went back to the familiar n that's faith i had let fear consumed me,  istarted praying reading talking to family n friends i have so much support, i had my lumpectomy on February 17, i was sore first couple of days i feel no different do have some numbness on the side of my arm, there was no cancer found in my lymp nodes, i have a folow up visit with my dr February 26, i'm doing whatever it takes to beat this..

latisecannon - Hi and welcome!  What a positive affirmation of life - a new grandbaby!  How wonderful for you!  Well, it seems that you've gotten through the lumpectomy quite well.  (Love your attitude, by the way...)  And I'm so glad your nodes were clear.  The beginning is pretty much of an emotional roller coaster, so feel free to vent if you need to - because we take it all - positive, negative, sad, happy, scared, and angry.  We all get it.  Please let us know how you're doing or if you have any questions.  We'll be anxious to hear what happens after your follow up next Wednesday!  Sending you a hug and a prayer....

Hi latisecannon, and welcome to Breastcancer.org, although we're sorry that you've had to join us.

Besides visiting these wonderful forums, you may also want to take a look a the Breast Cancer 101 section of the main Breastcancer.org site. It's designed for those who are newly diagnosed, and can help you sort through all of the information on our site and what to expect now.

We hope this helps! Let us know how it goes on the 26th.
