OMG....glad you are safe Dolce. Wow!
(Decided that packing could wait until the early AM.) Ready to move to my new place, and it's time. Feel beyond blessed. - Claire

Hi, thank you all! There is no attendant at the gym, and they let people use the pool 24/7 ... since it's on the property of our condo. Oh I forgot to mention, they have these special windows, so during the day it keeps the sun out ... during the day from inside the gym, I can see outside to the pool, but nobody can see in. Yet at night it is reverse, anyone outside can see straight into the gym, but because of the type of glass we can't see outside. Makes it extra creepy, because anyone outside of the gym can watch you and you don't know it. I'm changing my schedule!
Best wishes on your move this weekend Claire - how exciting!
-
Inspired, that's a darn good enough excuse not to go exercise late. Next time pick the bakery.
-
hi all and welcome back Julie and Missy!
OMG IBD that's so scary! So glad you used your wits and got outta there.
Marple, I like the way you think.

Mary, northern WI (Superior) got 18" of snow.
Just a skiff of snow here but it was icy Thurs a.m. and there was a winter storm warning so worked from home. Fri commute was fraught with danger due to blowing snow but I left 30 minutes late so I wouldn't be driving in the dark.Claire, good luck with the move today!
Got to the track and walked for an hour last night. Then came home and had the last of the Mex leftovers from Tues date night. No margies tho. Going out to dinner and a show with friends tonight so will do some yoga and strrrrreeeetch. Happy Saturday! ♥

Thinking of you & your move, Claire.
I am still lying in bed, but will exercise once I get up. Really cold here but we missed the snow, so that is good anyway. I hear that another Polar Vortex is on the way....blah!!!!!

-
Inspired - I'm so glad you're safe and sound! I have to admit when someone says they 'went to the gym' I always picture a fully staffed for-profit type gym - I never thought about the gyms at apartment and condo complexes where a key card for entry is your only security! That WOULD be really spooky, especially after dark like you said
-
Inspired, so glad you were alert and quick thinking!
Ruth, I heard that P.V. rumor too. Booooo!!! Makes ya just want to pull the covers over your head til Spring.
BUT...thanks to The Voices, I just finished 12 miles on the bike. Inside of course. It feels GREAT to be riding again! But it sure was a struggle to force myself to get on. Tomorrow should be easier.
Claire, Happy Moving Day!
Everyone else...Happy Weekend! Be safe, be healthy, and be moving!

Happy Saturday!
Finally felt I had the time and "mindset" to hit the gym. 45 min on the dreadmill. I've been doing yoga all week, but not posting it. Was soooooo hoping to get outside to play today....windchill of -29 and light snow....sigh, too cold for me.
I can't remember who posted about yin yoga.....I took some classes in it a few years ago and found it to be quite the work!!!! Interesting info on it....the prolonged deep stretch supposedly affects the actual joint tissues as well as muscle/tendon. The joint benefit is apparently in that it stimulates production of synnovial fluid, and helps to maintain joint "space", both of which tend to decrease in aging joints.
I like the "voices" on here....helps keep me going.
yikes!!! on the scary gym scenario....defo look for a workout partner!!!! Have you reported that incident to anyone??? I sure would. Be it black ice, heavy snow or un-savory characters.....stay safe everyone!!!! We have a lot of good years ahead of us!
-
Nihahi, I think we should head back to Arizona & take everyone else with us!!!!
-
-
IBD glad you are quick thinking and yes change your schedule, that is really scary. Sorry there is more snow, will it ever end we have lovely sunny weather but hopefully rain next week although wouldn't you know it I am going to a wedding next Saturday so I hope the rain stops for that...
This morning did Body Combat class and now house cleaning and laundry, bleahhhhh
-
OMG Ruth......
-
If I could 'beam' myself there............I'm IN!!
-
Inspired, so glad you are safe. It's always good to assume the worst, even though it could have been innocent. You just never know.
Claire, good luck with your move. The actual moving part, not so fun, but once you get settled it'll be great.
Ruth, savee me a spoton the Arizona plane. I said to my husband this morning that we need to go back to Aruba. It's only been 3 months and I'm ready again!
OK Voices. It turns out I was getting sick Thursday and that's why I was so exhausted. Friday I felt horrible. Slept really late today and then felt a little better and went to the store. Without the voices I would have sat down the rest of the day but decided I'd walk my dog at least 10 minutes and yet I managed 26 minutes. NOW I'm sitting down for the rest of the evening. Feet up eating chicken and roasted veggies.
-
Got to the gym this afternoon and did weights, upper and lower. Minimal cardio but plan on that tomorrow. Yep, the voices are getting louder - YAY!
-
Hi Ladies - hope you are all having a great weekend.
I too, did not want to do exercise today, even though I only needed a little over one hour to meet my weekly goal. I think when I did the 2 hours on Thursday night, that I never recovered with going back the next night for 6 miles. With great reluctance, I pulled myself off the couch and went and did the 4 mile mountain hike today. I went at a semi-moderate pace - took 78 minutes.
Here's how I closed out the week. 8 hours / 50 miles.
I hope I'm more consistent this coming week, and will try to start going again in the AM, so I don't have to think about it all day until I go!

Inspiredbydolce, how scary. Smart thinking on the phone trick, glad your ok.
Exercise today consisted of lots and lots of walking. Completed 30 minutes on the treadmill this morning plus another 90 minute walk this evening. Glad tomorrow is my day of rest and might spend some of it sitting outside soaking up vitamin D before the next artic blast with snow.........ugh
-
My exercise today was lots and lots and of walking too, on a beautiful day with my oldest daughter. I drove up to Austin to meet her at her Alma Mater. She had brought her oldest daughter down from Dallas to attend an all day event for prospective engineering students. It was a lovely visit.
-
Walked about four miles, hooping, and some upper body weights.
-
OMG, I LOVE this:

-
Hi ladies! Spent a great weekend up in VT. Went cross country skiing yesterday and snow shoeing today. My legs are like jello. Picking up my new bike tomorrow- Claire, I thought all about you when I was buying it- told my husband you are my cycling inspiration
Hoping all had a great day. -
ruthbru, thanks for the giggle.
Too nice out for the gym so went out and walked almost 4 miles. Thanks VOICES!
-
Nothing for me since Thursday AM except 15 minutes of chop & sculpt (ice, that is) today. Horrible night's sleep Thursday night and I was out of town yesterday and today. Visited DS and his girlfriend (who is also my hairdresser so I got a cut/color - hallelujah!!). Back to early AM group class tomorrow
-
Ruth, that was funny!!!! Thanks for sharing.
Today was supposed to be a rest day for me but since it was so nice out, I did some Spring cleaning. And lots of laundry.....
-
Some stairs and a treacherous icy walk outside.
-
Went for my one mile run before church, went to church, came home, ate lunch, took a nap and then walked the dogs with DH.
I'm making a goal of running at least twice a week, but preferably three times. In the past, whenever I've tried to run, I've developed knee pain pretty quickly. This time I'm working on strengthening my quads at the gym and stretching my hamstrings and calves to try to prevent it. Also learned that I under pronate, so I got the right kind of running shoes and I'm also making sure that I don't run two days in a row. Trying to be smart and work up to this slowly. So far so good. It helps that DH is a long time runner and gives me good advice and encouragement. My goals are not lofty, but I want to get to the point that I know I CAN run, and keep it up, even if just a mile or two.
-
Treadmill & some abs.
-
dreadmill and yoga stretches.....waaaay too cold to play outside....AGAIN
-
the only thing I exercised today was my right leg pressing the accelerator on my drive down and back to San Diego for lunch with the San Diego ladies, and best of all got to hang with Ann
