Hi Sheila, just found your thread. I've watched a few of the AI shows and I agree with you. It has been a little boring. I don't mind the judges and the kids (the ones left are all pretty young) do have talent, so what I think it is, it the new format changes. Hollywood week used to be exciting. Groups competition used to be fun. They began with such a huge group this year and then had those shows just to eliminate half of them, with the deciding based on a lot of behind the scenes singing that we never saw. That one whole show was just about the contestants walking into the "chair room" and not much more. Boring. It made me miss those real early shows where they would let a whole room go, or let a whole room go through. I really did not like this week where Top 30 went to Top 20. Why didn't they just go to 20 last week and get to the voting weeks already?
I had a couple early faves who I think are still in it. I'll probably need another week or two to know the names.
-
Sheila - yeah, we thought the same thing about several performances last night. ICK! But I'm sure in a lot of cases it was just nerves. Unfortunately, it's painful to watch - AND to listen to.
At least they gave the five guy losers more air time at the end than they did the girl losers...
We're not big on TV watching, so haven't seen The Voice...

elimar and Blessings
I really hate to be the downer of the show I really liked...I missed the old ones like David Cook year etc
But it doesn't seem it's interesting maybe as they advance and i know them better things will change
At least I can look at the judges and listen to Seacrest and be happy
I liked the girl with the hat MJ or MK ...I loved her voice but doesn't have the whole package......
-
OMG are you kidding me! I can't stand Malaya yuck! Love me some Ben though
-
So far 2 out of 3 ain't bad go America
-
GAG!!! to the Alex blah....Oh heck yeah baby America got it right and the Meuses rule Jessica!!!!
-
Oh yeah the Bama boys got it going on and so do the girls
love it go Dexter
-
America is doing good so far
Caleb/mini meatloaf is my nickname for him; well of course Majesty
-
Hi Renee...LOL sorry you had to talk to yourself
Well..Jessica made it through and MJ (sp)
These are the only names i can remember
Elderly moments are happening often lately......
-
Yes he is a mini of Meatloaf......:)
-
oh gag MK
can't stand her even more than Malaya blah; sorry for all you MK lovers Sheila! Love Sam Wolfe knew he would win the tweeny vote this year he is this years Scotty McCreery
-
Renee, Sheila, I thought the same thing -- meatloaf is served. He did a kick-butt opening performance. The first few guys were good and then I thought "what are they thinking???"
Ok I have to admit....I like Sam. He can sing.
I found the auditions to be engaging and the narrowing down to be distracting. I felt like I did not see who got in who was out and why....
Yes, the judges are good IMO...but kind of really too nice. Gosh some of those guys were so out of tune...I think the judges were covering for their bad decisions.
When does the Voice start? It will be awesome. -
The Voice is "usually" good, but last season I hated it! I couldn't even tell you who won. I was so disappointed.
-
Joan...Voice starts Monday Feb 28 @8PM on NBC
Renee I only like MK's voice...I just listen to it
Joan...I see that you also good with names
maybe I should sit in front of the TV and watch the show and not to pick from my computer room.......
-
I think X Factor was the best
Now they cancelled it..Why ?
I love listening to Alex and Sierra
-
What a resemblance !
-
I like a lot of the ones that were chosen for Top 10 (but really need to check their names out on the website.)
Of the other three add-ons, I really only liked Jena because she seems to have a little different style.
-
My DVR went blank for the last 3 picks.
I was not that impressed with the performances tonight. Everyone seemed to be nervous or off key.
Until Monday....
-
All of the girls can go home except for MK & Jena. And the 3 guys I picked from the get go are still in : Alex, Sam & Ben. It'll be a guy year this year, is my thought.
-
And I agree Sheila....everyone is so young this year. It is like watching "Reality-Glee". I hope that the performances get better now. And can't wait for the Voice-next Monday you say? I'm going to be in a world of hurt. "The Following" is probably on at the same time as the Voice...I don't have DVRing so guess I get to Hulu Kevin Bacon (he's probably 6 degrees from Adam Levine in some way shape or form!)

SPOILER ALERT (in case you didn't see the show)
TOP 13
Voted in through
America’s votes:1. Malaya
Watson – I love the fact that she plays a tuba. She’s quirky – and very young2. Ben
Briley – one of the ‘Bama Boys – cool that they all got selected3. Emily
Piriz – also young, but has a good voice4. Alex
Preston – has a very strange stage persona, and kind of an alternative voice5. Jessica
Meuse – rocker chick! I like her voice6. Dexter
Roberts – ‘Bama Boy!7. Caleb
Johnson – yep - MiniMeatloaf8. Majesty
Rose – another quirky one9. MK
Nobilette – love her voice and purity of tone, but zero stage presence10. Sam
Woolf – cutie pie for the ‘tweenersSelected through
the judges’ “Wild Card” after singing for their lives:11. Jena
Irene – young but talented. Powerful voice12. Kristen
O'Connor – guess they needed a nurse on staff. Didn’t like her performance
tonight13. C.J.
Harris – Don’t know why, but we’re really rooting for him. Another ‘Bama Boy.Sang
for their lives but didn’t make it:Spencer Lloyd – another pretty face (those eyes!), but weak
voiceBria Anai – scared teenager with a powerful voice. She put on
a good stage act, though, even though she couldn’t keep in tune.Didn’t
get enough votes, and not even considered for “Wild Card”:Marrialle Sellers – the Miley Cyrus clone!
Emmanuel Zidor – OMG,
had enough of him at his auditionMalcolm Allen – can’t really remember his voice
George Lovett – again, can’t really remember his voice
Briana Oakley – strange, because I thought she had a good
voice -
Now that you put the names up...Most like Malaya, Alex, and Jessica; also like Ben, Caleb, Majesty, and Sam; Emily, M.K., and Dexter not so much. Already said I liked Jena. Agree that Kristen was not impressive last night and C.J. I would not even miss. It's all about bringin' it every single week. Let's see if these youngsters can do it. Good Luck to 'em!
The Voice. Don't you think it is funny how a simple strategy of having the chairs turned away already makes it more exciting than Idol? AI producers must be thinking, "why didn't we do that first?"
Eph, The Following is on regular internet. Enjoy!
-
I'm already loving The Voice
for me it's the best
-
-
Karen where are you ?
Are you watching/
-
I liked the last girl & the duo, but they were a lot like Alex & Sierra from the X factor so I'm not sure America will go for another lovey-dovey couple so soon.
-
Joni ...I liked the Duo but like you said It felt like I was watching Alex and Sierra (my fav couple)
Yes the last and the first girl were good
-
I'm here to talk to myself
the show is so good so far
Poor Blake he only has 1
I have a strong feeling about Team Adam this year
