I found a small white/red lump on  the tip on my nipple, it hurts a bit, but there is no dischages.

It seems obvious thats its one of the milk ducts.... i know it needs to be checked..but

I have an appointement in May  for my first post treatment mammo..can i "ignore this" till then? or.. is this something that needs immediate attention

This is in the right breast (the left had IDC) they did a lumpectomy and found some insitu but they were not worried. It did not get rad tx like the left breast

I have had so many complications since treatment is over... hoping i can just ignore it for 3 months

Do you really want to wonder what it is for 3 months?  I do this too often and spend too much time worrying for nothing, or not taking care of a problem sooner.  No need to suffer mentally or physically.  I vote for getting it checked out if is doesn't disappear in a week.

At a minimum, call your oncologist & see if he wants to take a look at it. I had a little lump under my arm (on the 'good' side), I waited a couple weeks and called and my onc had me come in, he felt it carefully and said that it's just scar tissue - keep an eye on it in case, but no biggie. Took about a half hour and put my mind at rest. I felt a little silly - but that's okay.

i did notice it about a month ago, it was smaller..

I will wait a week and see.

but... the appt in May is one year after surgery... can/would they do a mammogram before?

They will do a mammo if there is any concern of the possibility of cancer.  They can do it with less pressure if rupture is a concern.  I can't remember now if I got a mammo six months after surgery.  Think not because I had chemo then rads.
