Did you guys see the cancer commercial during the Super Bowl?  As I was watching it, I though wow that woman has really short hair like me and then of course it turned out to be a commercial for cancer. Anyway it reminded me that we need to stop being so hard on ourselves ad the way we look and remember what we've been through and how strong we are, and how we won't take things for granted anymore.

I thought I would share a picture of what my hair currently looks like.  Very wavy which is a nice change, my hair has always been super straight.

Teresa glad you are enjoying your curly hair.  I remember my cousin getting   curly hair after her chemo about 15 years ago.  It's straight again.  Can't remember how long it stayed curly.  Mine was straight before and it is still straight.  Because it is so short I wear dangling earrings almost every time I go out.  Lucky my hubby makes jewelry.  :)

It's raining here the last couple or three days.   Finally. It has felt like spring for a lot of the time this winter which has been quite enjoyable.  But we  really need the rain.

    A good weekend to all.

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm so mad at my husband right now :(  He's working so much lately - he was gone Thursday night & Friday night and he's working all day/night tomorrow.  Plus, he's worked one weekend day for pretty much this entire year so far.  Anyway - I am doing all I can to hold down a 40 hour a week job, take care of the kids, get through the day....

My period started back up only 10 days after it ended so I ended up at my GYN office on Thursday.  I was at work and I gushed so bad I bled through my pad & pants and everything.  Anyway - I have to go for a pelvic U/S on Monday to see what's going on with my uterus.

Anyway -I digress, so today we were at the grocery store and we were talking about giving our next door neighbors some tickets to the Circus (because they've been helpful in watching my youngest son some mornings before he has to get on the bus for school.) And I said "Well, you could give them our tickets because I'm not bothered about going" and he said "You never want to do anything"

And I was SO MAD.  I'm still mad.  I went through chemo/surgery etc while holding down a full time job.  I had DJ gigs throughout...how much more can I do??  I am proud of how I've managed to cope through all of this and get a new job and keep all my gigs, etc.  And what an insult for him to say that.  I'm sorry that my cancer is so inconvenient for you!!!  Plus it was me that made dinner reservations for us 2 weeks ago and drove us out to dinner, and me that takes my 12 year old to play tennis every few weeks, and me that took my 7 year old to see the new Lego movie last night, and me that's taking my kid to the theater in 2 weeks....FUCK him.  Ughhhhh.....

I told him how insulting I thought that was and he didn't even say sorry :(  And anyway - I am going back in for surgery on the 21st and our tickets are for the 22nd!  How does he think I'm going to go to the circus the day after surgery???  I'm surprised he doesn't want me to book a DJ gig for that day.

Dude - Man up and take care of me so I don't have to work so hard.  That's what I feel like saying to him.  Although I never would....

I'm sorry.  I just needed to vent....

Ukkate....I agree! UGGGH.   We all know if the shoe were on the other foot these guys would be in bed....forever!

You can do all that you do, but the one time you say no it mean "you never".  Hard to win those arguments because they are one way!

Can you set up some phone calls with a good friend that he will be around to "overhear"....perhaps you can tell your friend how you are feeling so good for all you have been through and then brag about all you are doing!  I would say to do the opposite, and complain about how much you have to do after having been through so much, but he probably wouldn't "get it".... Well maybe he won't get it either way but he needs to hear you somehow!

Big hugs for you. I hope things go well at the doctors.

Kate I hate That when It happens. It would be great if he had to do it all for a month.  That might open his eyes and heart...  I hope today is a better day.

Thanks for your words of support ladies - it meant a lot.  I'm still mad at him - but life goes on...

More pressing is Storm 2014!!!  It took me 5 hours to drive home from work yesterday - it was INSANE.  I'm working from home today but as most of my work is booking flights, I will spend the bulk of today on hold with airlines - FUN (NOT!)

    Stay warm

Kate sorry to hear about your husband being uncaring.  I hope he made up to you at least a little for Valentines tonight.

I got home from Las Vegas yesterday, we had a really nice time.  It was SO good to get away.  It was a much needed break!

I spent a few hours this evening with Steve, the guy I've been seeing for a couple of months now.  We are still taking things slow but it is really nice to spend time with him.  He makes me happy and who knows where it could lead.

Yay Teresa.  2 very good stories.   Love that you had a great time in Vegas.  It's been years since I've been there.   My dad and step mom lived there for years and we visited them and Vegas.  It was such fun to do both. And so happy things are going well with you and Steve.   That was our Valentine's Day story.

My head is still under a hat! Ugh! I'm gonna make an apt next week to have someone "clean" it up & I bought a couple headbands. .. I think I'll be okay as long as I have something girlie on my head ??? I just look like a dude with short hair and hate it! But it is growing. I'm at 1.5"... & My last chemo was 5 months ago! Should I take prenatal vits? I jokingly thought about it before...

    oh..

forgot to mention... my oldest just bought her second house to flip after profiting 83k on the first one ... sold 2 hours after listing for 15k above listed price! Haha

well we spent the day yesterday tearing down walls and gutting the place and I compared how I felt to when my g daughter was born... 3 days after chemo treatment and a long day at the hospital; I couldn't walk myself up the stairs to bed... hahaha... thinkin it takes longer to get back to normal than I thought. .. lol

    Lorrie, Yeah!

Yes, I did have CT of lungs.  Still 2 nodules, no change.  No one using the word Mets...I go back in August.  PET was negative...but onc said the lung nodules were so small they wouldn't light up on a PET scan if they are cancer (Gee, thanks! Lol)

I leave on the 24th for New Orleans....traveling with my mother in law, best friend since I was 5, police academy friend of 28 years and one of her friends. So looking forward to getting away.  Even if the surgery will "get in my way" lol (the surgery was the purpose of the trip...the subsequent partying is a bonus!)

Lorrie, a house flipper!  Good for her!  I love watching those shows.  Wish I had someone I could go do that with..  I love physical labor and I love to see the product of hard work.  Unfortunately it takes at least 2 people for most jobs.  My next life I will marry a handy man and we will do projects together....well, that's if I don't "go gay" in my next life.  (Please, hope I am not offending anyone..PM and I will explain that)

Hair...Lorrie are you taking Biotin?  It is good for hair, nails and skin.  I take 2 every morning.  Have you used hair gel or mouse to slick back and style your hair?  I have done this while trying to grow it out.  Do I think I look like a man...I'd rather not comment.  Use eye makeup so feel better (or look like a man in drag...it's all about perspective.

Hi to everyone. Teresa I'm so glad this relationship is going so well.

Hubby didn't make it up to me on valentines day. Oh well. It is what it is.....

I take biotin and my hair seems to be growing. I use gel to slick it over to one side and I tuck everything behind my ears. I googled short hair styles and that gave me some ideas. Check out Charlize Theron or Carey mulligan.  I don't love my hair style but now at least I feel stylish. And when my hair was longer, I used to wear long earrings but now I feel like I need shorter earrings to feel balanced. And I always need eye make up now too

Anyway. I have my surgery on Friday for some fat infection and a nipple. And I'm going to have my port removed too. I only have 4 or 5 herceptins left.

Did I tell you that I started ovulating again?  I had to get a pelvic US to see why I was bleeding so bad. So joy for that!!!!

exciting Lorrie.   Just the anticipation is fun.  And congrats to your daughter for the extremely successful house flips.

Pat what is Mets?  Glad there's no change in the nodules.   Better if they would just go away.  Good luck on your coming surgery and have fun in New Orleans.

Kate I like wearing my earrings more than ever partially to point out.'I am woman'.  Good luck on your upcoming surgery.  How exciting for your herceptin coming to an end.

Carla, Mets is short for metastasis ...the spread of cancer.

Teresa...I live vicariously through your dating.  I hope the relationship goes in the direction you want it to.

Ukkate, congrats on the next step surgeries. I see you are ER- so I guess no anti hormonal that will throw you into menopause, like me....enjoy your periods!
