More than 4 years post mastectomy and sharp pain

Not sure if this is the right area or not, but I am wondering if anyone has experienced this. I had a mastectomy over four years ago. I had implant reconstruction. Recently, I have been experiencing a very sharp, pulling pain that comes and goes. When it heightens it is horrible. I was given muscle relaxers by my Family Doctor (which I hate, and I am not sure if it stops it or knocks me out so I don't notice it). I am seeing the NP at my surgeon's office tomorrow. Have any of you experienced this? I can tell there is some swelling. I am trying not to worry, but well, anything in there makes me worry. Have you experienced it? What caused it?

Could be scar tissue build up. Some people do this..called adhesions and anywhere that has been operated on can develop them. Not everyone gets them, but some people do and they are fairly common.

I am having the same experience. Sometimes I get muscle spasms and the implant becomes really hard.

You my even have adhesions on the implant! Scar tissue can surround "foreign tissues"..ask your doc about this. Of course, anything new, always ask your doctor.
