Making new friends
Hello, my name is Laura and I am new to this site asI have recently been diagnosed with IDC stage 3A 6.1 cm breast tumor T3, N1 4/19 nodes positive largest node 2.2, High grade, ER + HER2+ Wow that's a mouthful. I had a right modified mastectomy with lymph node dissection last Monday so I am Day 5 post op. Can not wait to get the 2 drains out. I am happy to have found this site, filled with lots of good info, support and tips. I am also a Registered Nurse of many years and now find my self on the "other"side. I believe I will be getting a port soon and then starting aggressive chemo. Feeling positive as I am a realist, but I know I have a difficult year ahead. Anyone else here in a similar circumstances? Starting Chemo in March? Much appreciated!

Hi Nurselaura!
I can't really answer your questions, but just wanted to say Hi, and to welcome you! Not that it's a club we'd want to join, but there are so many wonderful people here who will be there for you whenever needed.
The great thing about this site is that everyone understands how you're feeling and we have all been helped along by others. The waiting is brutal, but the waiting room here, is a good place to be. There will be others along who can support and advise.
Take care, and please let us know how you're doing!

Nurselaura, we're sorry you are joining us, but welcome! You'll find Breastcancer.org a community full of knowledge and support.
In the Chemotherapy - Before, During and After forum you'll find others starting Chemo in February, in the February 2014 Starting Chemo Club thread, but feel free to start a new topic there about Chemo in March if you want.
We hope this helps!
