    I am in search of a oncologist in Atlanta.  The one I have now has not worked a whole lot with breast cancer.  Any recommendations?

    The cancer center at Emory Hospital is the only NCI designated cancer center in Atlanta. I would find someone associated there.

    I had my bmx and reconstruction at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, they were great and have excellent breast cancer outcomes. The surgical group was Breast Care Specialists, but I use an onco where I live, which is a small town a couple of hours north of Atlanta. The important thing to look for when choosing an oncologist is making sure they follow NCCN protocol. Emory is a great facility as well, I had a coworker that used Emory. My breast surgeon recommended the plastic surgeon and she was great. Maybe your surgeon could recommend an onco for you.

    I live about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta and I used a group named Northwest Georgia Oncology, at Kennestone Hospital.  My doctor is Hillary Hahm and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her.  She takes her time with me.  My consultation appointment with her was on the Friday before Labor Day weekend in 2008.  My appointment time was 3:00.  She stayed with me and my husband, answering all our questions, until almost 6:00.  She is tops in my book!  Good luck in finding someone as wonderful!

    I am being treated at Emory's Winship Cancer Center, Dr. O'Reagan.  I'm a science girl so I wanted a research facility.

    My surgeon is with Breast Care Specialists, too, and I had my BMX at Northside Hospital.  But since I needed an oncologist closer to my home in the northern 'burbs, my BS set me up with Dr. Hahm at Northwest Georgia Oncology.  What a coincidence, Susie123 & kbram!  I love, love, LOVE both of my doctors!
