Vaginal Dryness - I need help!
I had been taking Lupron and Aromasin for 3 years and decided to have my ovaries out. About 6 weeks after surgery I had terrible burning pain and thought it was a UTI. After seeing gyno and urologist, was told all symptoms are from instant menopause. My onco is against taking any estrogen. I have been using replens for dryness as needed and taking cranberry pills to prevent UTI's. All of a sudden, the dryness, burning came back. I can't take it! I want to be able to pee w/o pain and to be able to have sex with my husband. Does anyone have similar experience/ suggestions? Thanks

Shari there is a thread called 'I want my mojo back!' And there are some fabulous suggestions for handling this problem there. I'm not sure what forum it's in but if you do a search using mojo as your word it should come up.
Good luck......well with everything!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Shari, here's the link to the I Want My Mojo Back thread that Chrissy recommends.
Also, the main Breastcancer.org site has some great suggestions in the section on Vaginal Dryness.

thanks for your help. I'm trying to stay positive. I went to gyno today and he suggested Vagfem but won't write script without ok from Oncologist. I'm waiting to hear back.

Yuck, I had horrible responses when I first started taking tamoxifen & know that many women experience all kind of different things. Generally, although I do not know your diagnosis, it is the case that it's not a good idea to take anything that is estrogen or that changes to estrogen or that is estrogen 'like' - because er/pr + cancer cells feed on estrogen - so you always want to clear anything with your onc.
You might want to take a look at the mojo thread - sometimes the 'sexual' side of things is diminished by our docs (maybe out of embarrassment?) but these women have really addressed all of the issues if you read through the thread (it's kind of entertaining as well )
I don't know that every woman shouldn't have a gander at this thread as it's a very healthy and open discussion of sexuality and potential problems & achieving what one can sexually. It beats cosmo, that's for sure.

I have extreme burning that does not go away. I'm desperate for a solution and would take anything for this painful burning to go away!

I'm very fragile in that area and use olive oil. I've also put make coconut oil suppositories and put those into my vagina. At room temp coconut oil is a solid, so you can form small ball and freeze these before using. Messy, but it may help until you get to the MO.
I'd love to hear back what your MO says. I'm in a new relationship and will need to negotiate this extreme dryness issue soon.

I use Carlson Key E cream suppositories.( the E stands for vit E) It helps with dryness not for pain. You find them on Amazon. Start off with using 1/2 first .not too messy. Hope this gs will get better for u.

You can also try Aura Cacia organic cocoa butter, melted or broken into slivers and used as a suppository. Good prices on Vitacost even for the Carlson suppositories.

thanks for the help. How often do you use suppositories? Do you use them at night? I bought the Carlson Vitamin E. Thinking about the other options too.
