Hi Everyone, I finally have a treatment plan next thursday :) Seems like it took forever to get to this point after I found my lump that was 1.2cm I had more test and MRI to find out that there was more and the area is 5cm and they found cancer in my axillary node. So now they want to do chemo cth then surgery then radiation. My question is.. . I feel like this cancer is somewhere else in my body, I don't know if it's my mind over reacting or my intuition. It was my intuition that found the lump. So I asked my OC how do I know if its anywhere else and she said we could do a scan but the problem was that the scan is not that accurate until the cancer is so big. She said she would do it but it really wouldn't change my treatment. Has anyone else  had one and found anything, is it worth doing...thoughts. My mind is going nutty :(

Peace &  Love everyone

Ger

    Hi Ger,

I was given a PET scan, MRI and bone scan before my surgery and treatment. All were clear which gave me enormous peace of mind. If for no other reason, have the scan done so you will worry less. There is enough to worry about as it is!

I would move forward with it to have an accurate starting point/baseline.  I would also say go forward with it since you have lymph node involvement.

There are some people that find out ithas spread and others that hear it has not spread.  I know I felt a little better after mine.

So sorry your having to go thru this. I'm pretty new to all this stuff but wanted to add my feelings to your question. No one knows your body better than you do. Ive lived by the saying 'Go with your gut.' my whole life and more times than not its been accurate. I also felt something was wrong when I was first diagnosed. I to am feeling the same thing you are about the cancer lurking somewhere else in my body and I'm not giving up until I know for sure. There are a lot of test out there that can tell you if it is or not. Pet scan, MRI, bone scan, CT scan and there are some blood test to. Once you have surgery you can get a oncotype test to tell you your chances of recurrence. You have to be in control of your treatment and options just for peace of mind. The ladies on this site are a great support system for you and I have learned so much from them. As far as percentages go I feel your either 0% or 100% everything in the middle is nothing. Again this is just my feelings on it I'm sure you will get other opinions so take each one and see what makes you most comfortable. I'm praying for good results for you and peace of mind. Stay strong and remember to trust in your instincts, that's why God gave them to us

Thanks :) I have decided I'm going to ask for one tomorrow when I meet for my Chemo teaching.
