Congrats , I just finished 36 last Thursday... I know you are as thrilled as I am..

Icebaby, Just noted you did 36 treatments. A lot of people do 33 but my doc also advised 36 for me-28days ( 50Gy) whole breast and then 8 days ( 16 gy) of boost... I am on day 24 today.... seems endless. Thinking to stop WB after #25 as I heard 4500 to WB is enough if getting boost.
Did you have the same? 8 of boost? Any problems ? I am nervous about getting higher dose of radiation in terms of possible radiation effects and scarring. I was told my margins are clear but some are still under 1mm from border so that's why he wants me to do more rads. I have gotten some conflicting advice from another doc.
Taking one day at a time.
Thanks for any reply.

Yes, I had 28 whole breast and 8 boost.. I had bad burns starting at about #22 but by time I finished that area was healed (Silvadene) they the boost started to burn but stopped because it was a shorter period of exposure..peeling now.. My margins were clear on 3 sides but the DCIS was on my chest wall ,so my lungs were done also..
