Good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
My doc is still trying to understand what is going on with me from my rib pain. Bone scan tomorrow.
-
Fitzy, your first diagnosis is far until it reoccurred, and in cancer language this is good. Chances are you will respond well to treatments , and hopefully you will send it back to sleep again for a long time. Many treatments are available these days , soo that's a positive. Like you i found yoga very relaxing and i do it whenever my body permits it. I am very confident you will respond. I am glad you still enjoyed the time with your son, this is important. My prayers are with you keep us informed. Hugs.
-
Fitzy, true i read the same thing about ILC that it does not respond entirely to chemo, since usually ILC is highly hormone positive and generally HER2 neg. still they use chemo in an attempt to kill as many cancer cells as possible and then they give the hormone inhibitors. I think my onc will put me on aromasin, since i was already on femara. The newest for metastatic cancer is exemestane and affinitor which was approved only last year by the FDA for metastatic breast cancer. As well as xeloda, nevalbine, halaven... There are a lot of options. They will find one which will work for ... I hope this helped.

Thanks Woody, love all your positive energy and your treatment knowledge. Hope your treatment plan and mine both give us many more years in this beautiful world (The most gorgeous weather here today, had a fabulous morning training with my friend by the water, after last night seeing a movie with my boys at the outdoor cinema on Sydney Harbour). The Carbo/Gemzar and the A/A combos certainly seem to be having good results with Stage IV ILC Warriors. Hoping that my liver met biopsy on the 20/2 shows that it is still er/pr++, so we can try the other AIs to put the 'silly cells' back to sleep.
Hope the bone scan went well, Maria and there is still NED. Thanks again to everyone for advice and good wishes, all of which is reciprocated.
-
Fitzy, what handsome young men & somehow they look 'kind' as well. I hope they get a treatment settled on for you soon & it kicks cancer's a** back into the 3rd century. Many hugs.
-
I wanted to let everyone know my scans came back clear. Could not be happier or more grateful.
-
Fitzy, wonderful pics and a beautiful scenery , i am glad you are enjoying yourself, that's the attitude ! You will do well God's willing. Don't worry about the biopsy results, mine were exactly the same as my first dx three years ago, er+ is a bit lower the pr however changed i am 55 so this is normal and my her2 is still negative. Most ILC are her2 neg , but they could change with god forbids another mets. So i am almost sure you will be pr+ . Let me know your results , my prayers are with you... Hugs and good vibes are heading your way.
-
Great news, Maria. NOW, you can breathe a little easier.
Thanks Woody for the tips, was the biopsy incident free for you?
Thanks, Ziggy, I hope we can find a treatment that causes regression and stabilisation, got to make it to 60! (56 now). My boys are kind and caring and good fun too!
-
Hello Fitzy,
My biopsy went smoothly didn't feel a thing, he called it true cut ct biopsy, he went in to the closest tumor and the biggest with a long needle gun and he made a little incision on my upper stomach and went it looking at the scan . He took three specimens long ones and frankly i thought it would be worst or painful. I was not and i had no problems afterward. After three days it was almost gone. A twitch of pain on the local biopsy sight but nothing really worth mentionning. I hope i would be the same for you . Keep me posted. Good luck . Hugs.
-
yayyyy great news Maria. Xxxxxx
-
Liver biopsy went well. As you said, Woody, the biopsy procedure was fine. Don't know why I needed any sedation, you only would need it if you are an anxious type, plus it didn't kick in until an hour after the procedure when I was resting. They got two good core samples from my main lesion in section 5 of the liver. Will get the results when I see my Oncologist next Tuesday. It's still a little sore and hurts when I laugh too hard! Have a lovely weekend everyone.
-
Fitzy,
Happy for you that you have that behind you. I hope the wait for results are not too stressful.
The photos are beautiful. Good looking young men..
-
Maria - so glad the scan came back clear, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I know you have been wrestling with things for a long time now. I hope that you are celebrating. Surely wine or cake or chocolate are in order?
Fitzy - Yes, those boys look like they are also fun. It's one thing to be good looking, to be kind and fun - that says that somebody probably did a great job raising them in addition to them perhaps having a natural proclivity to be so. Happy dance that you have the biopsy done with. ((hugs)))
-
Fitzy, so glad your biopsy went went well and i hope waiting for results won't be too stressful for you. Bot don ' t worry too much if it is cancer it would usually have the same morphology as the original one, so most likely you will be pr+ . I hope you get some peace of mind. I am on my third chemo and thank god i am not having a lot of side effects except the tiredness mainly after 2/3 days after the treatment. After this one i have a scan , i keep my fingers crossed that the cancer is responding. If it is i will have three to go. Let me know your results.
-
Yeah, not worried like when you have CT scans etc. It will just be better for treatment options if it is still er/pr+. Hope your next scan shows cancer responding to chemo, Woody.
-
Thank you Fitzy, same to you , i hope we all get through this...
-
Good news that my liver mets are still very er/pr+++. Also, tumour markers keep trending down and evidence of cell necrosis. Have another CT in 2 weeks.
How is everyone else going?
-
Fitzy, Yah for your good news. How are you feeling?
I am adjusting to Arimidex, joint pain, but trying to keep busy & excercise.
-
holeinone, i am glad you are handling Arimidex well, i am told by my doc that exercise is excellent so good luck to you, i am hoping for the same on aromasin or arimidex , after i finish my chemo. My onc told me not all people have the same side effects, i am hoping for the best:) so be well and keep up your energy and good will .
